Chapitre 3: Chapter 3

She found him.

Her Prince Charming.

But he was not a dream, not a fairy tale. He was a freaking true living Prince of some freaking Country she did not even know existed.

"Come on, Charlie, you have to tell him." Giana had insisted. "He deserved to know the truth."

Of course, she knew that. She wanted her child to have a father.

She wanted to tell him about their unborn child, but that was not that simple. It would have been less complicated if he had been Hunter, the Prince's driver.

But he was fucking Prince Elijah Drummond.

"I could not just go to him and say you knocked me up." Why was he even pretending to be Hunter in the first place? Was that a game that these wealthy people play?

"Besides, I don't even know how to contact him." It was not as if she had resources or connections to help her get in touch with him.

It was not as if his number was on the internet. Damn! He lived on another continent.

"We will think of something." Her friend assured her as they prepared for their next job. "For now, just don't stress too much. It is not good for the baby."

She knew her friend was just concerned for her. She had indeed lost a few pounds since Jake's condition worsened.

She had been caring for her little brother these past weeks. But despite being able to provide money for his chemotherapy, her brother still died.

"You know that is not easy." She wistfully thought of her brother, who still had many dreams like her. "But I will try for you and my baby." But her brother left them too soon.

Giana and Jake might not be her flesh and blood, but they were the closest to a family she had. She met her friend when they were still young and living in the same orphanage.

But the system manipulated their lives. They got separated. A kind, old couple adopted Giana. On the other hand, she landed in a foster home where she met Jake.

"That is all I ask." Her friend said as they donned their costumes for the day.

Today, they were on a production set, playing a part as an extra in a movie scene. Of course, they were the characters no one would bother to look at.

But they said great actors had to start somewhere. She hoped someday, they would become famous, she as an actress while her friend as a supermodel.

"Hey, places." The film crew shouted, instructing everyone to go to their spots.

She thought a career in showbiz was not easy peasy. But her entire life had never been rainbows and butterflies.

She had to live with abusive foster parents, sleep in shelters until she turned eighteen, and move in with Giana, where they rented a small apartment.

"Break a leg." She told her friend as if they even had a line. All they had to do was stand there and look pretty.

What a joke! Right?

However, that was how she and her friend got paid. After a few takes, they were off to the next gig if lucky. If not, then it was back to job hunting.

Even though Jake had passed away, she still had to earn more than ever since she was carrying another life that she needed to support.

"Do you think Hunter... I meant Prince Elijah would remember me if he saw me again?" That was another part of her hesitation.

She was afraid to seek the Prince because she was not Princess Jasmin. What if the Prince denied sleeping with her? What if Prince Elijah only wanted her child, not her?

There were so many what-ifs.

She doubted the Prince would want to do anything with her. After all, she was a nobody. He only slept with her because he thought she was Princess Jasmin.

"Maybe... You never know, girl." Giana did not sound convincing because they both knew the truth. "But we need to hurry to get to our next job."

She took her friend's arms and proceeded to their next destination. They said hard work paid off. So far, they were still waiting for their big break.

"After this, I'm treating you to a nice late dinner," Giana told her as they donned their aprons, acting as servers at a fancy bar.

She looked forward to that since they only ate a light snack between their jobs. With a baby growing in her belly, she would need to eat more nutritious food.

"Girls, move your asses. We have VIPs that needed special attention." The bartender handed them a tray of drinks.

She grabbed one and moved to their VIP area. Although her friend was skeptical about her working in a bar, she did not mind.

It was not hard since she only had to serve the drinks. Moreover, the pay was great, especially if the customers left some tips.

"Don said we can get a nice bonus if we do our jobs well," Giana told her what the bartender whispered earlier at the bar.

"Great!" She and her friend badly needed the money if they would move, and then she also had to save up for her baby. "Then, let us make these guys our bitches for tonight."

All they had to do was serve them drinks and smile. But sometimes, it was not as simple as that, especially when the customers were drunk jerks.

"Here are your drinks. Do you need anything else?" Those were their usual lines.

She put down their drinks, avoiding looking at their faces and making eye contact. She just focused on delivering their drinks and not messing it up. That was the job.

"Aren't you a pretty thing? Maybe you would like to join us." The one on her left grabbed her arm and pulled her closer. "Have a drink with us?"

"I'm sorry, but we only serve drinks." She snatched her hand away from him. "There is another club just a few blocks from here. Maybe you would like to transfer there."

She did not give a shit if she did not get paid tonight, but she would not take crap from scumbags like him.

"Harry, just drink and stop bothering the ladies." A voice behind her said.

She did not need saving, but she still appreciated his help. Nonetheless, something about his voice bothered her. It sounded a little bit familiar.

"Charlie, Don needs you upfront." Her friend shouted, distracting her before she could turn and look at the man behind her.

Save by the bell.

Anyway, she had no time to slack around. Tonight, the bar had a full pack. "Just call if you need anything else." She said to the group before she left and walked away.

But as her eyes turned to her back, she saw someone she thought she recognized.

No! He can't be.

But she only partially saw his face since it was dark, with just the twinkling lights. But he appeared busy talking on his phone.

Could that be him?

She could not tell since it was dark, making it difficult for her to see his face more clearly. But his voice had a distinctive tone that she believed she heard before.

What if it was him? Could she approach him and tell him that she was pregnant with his child?

Damn, Charlie! What now?
