"Seven Chained Soul Formation," Cious muttered, floating in midair as he stared down at Malvorrak in the distance.

In the next moment, several interlocking chains sprang out from Cious's chest, forming a net that revolved around the space.

Malvorrak hadn't lost his wisdom. On the contrary, it had improved greatly, shown by his ability to control the cravings of the Ku.

The Ku, as Cious knew them, were a race of bloodthirsty symbiotes that drove their hosts mad. They were scattered across the galaxy and had even infected him once.

It had taken great help and effort from his allies to destroy the Ku god responsible, and even then, he barely escaped with his life.

Now, Malvorrak was dealing with the same dreaded infection. It was like history repeating itself, with him as the focal point of its repetition.

"I'll help you, kid, even if it means hurting myself," Cious muttered through gritted teeth.
