The stairwell was dim and quiet, the air thick with the stale smell of dust and neglect. Every step felt like a victory, bringing me closer to her. I could feel her presence in these walls, a faint echo that told me Azaria had been here. Behind me, my Beta, Marcus and a few loyal warriors moved silently, following my lead as we approached the fourth floor of her old condo building.

It was the perfect setup: a quiet building, no guards, no hint of protection. She thought she could hide Caspian from me, shield him from his rightful place.
