Ryan dropped the topic, upon seeing Aria serious expression and he walks towards one of the empty couches. The soft cushions enveloped him as he sank into the fabric with a low sigh, his eyes drafting close for some minutes.

Aria walked to the right wall with her finger pressing the button on the remote. The wall slid open, revealing a compact kitchen. She disappeared into the kitchen, leaving Ryan alone with himself. The silence was punctuated by Samuel's steady breathing.

Aria returned with two glasses of water and she handed one to Ryan. "Thanks," he whispered, their fingers touching briefly.

Aria sat on the opposite couch, facing Ryan. Samuel's motionless form on the adjacent couch served as a stark reminder of the topic that was dropped.

Ryan took a sip of the water, feeling the refreshing liquid glide down his dried throat. The liquid soothed his throat muscles, providing instant relief and rejuvenating his senses.
