I hung up the phone on Tyler, not even bothering to spare another thought for his whining. It was all he did recently, and I was sick of it. I didn't ask Tyler to try and take Paul's place; he just did it on his own, thinking it would somehow make him important to me.

I finished another round of PubG, feeling the rush of victory that was all too familiar. Tyler? He was just background noise, a constant drain on my time and energy.
