"WHAT?! I'm only at Stage-1 Qi Refining Realm—and even that's unstable?!" Reon's eyes darted back to the Status Window, scrutinizing it repeatedly in disbelief.
But no matter how many times he checked, the results were the same—it wasn't his own status he was looking at. It was Xue Taiyang's, the spineless weakling whose body he had somehow taken over.
At first, Reon thought his frailty was due to his injuries. Time would heal him, or so he believed. But the truth hit him like a hammer: Xue Taiyang wasn't just weak—he was a joke. Weaker than a spirit chicken.
A spirit chicken! Reon thought, fuming internally. Those pathetic creatures were considered the lowest of the low, their only purpose being nourishment for low-level cultivators.
How did this useless idiot become an inner disciple? He's not even fit to become a Servant Disciple of Supreme Dao Sect!
Even as a mortal, the protagonist of this world had stats that were all above 20—a testament to his extraordinary potential. In stark contrast, Reon's stats were utterly humiliating.
Worse still, Intelligence—2. "Two?! Are you kidding me?!" Reon groaned inwardly, his frustration palpable.

Not to mention, this moron even owned a Rare-Grade Beast Controlling technique. But of course, in true Xue Taiyang fashion, he never bothered to train it properly. What a waste!
It was stuck at the Early Stage and completely unstable. If he dared to summon the beast now, there was a good chance it would turn on him and beat him to death rather than his opponents!
But there was no time to dwell on this mess. He had to focus on surviving the current situation.
"What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?" Lu Nian's mocking voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
"He must be too scared to speak," Wei Xiyan sneered.
Scared? Reon thought, biting back a laugh. You're damn right I'm scared! Extremely Scared! I can't even fend off a spirit chicken right now. Do you think I'm thrilled about this?
Still, he knew he couldn't show weakness. Straightening his posture, he steadied his voice and forced a calm demeanor.
"A Sleeping Dragon doesn't waste its breath on ants," he said smoothly, his eyes locking onto Lu Nian and Wei Xiyan. "Let the Dragon lie until the threat is worthy."
For a moment, the two bullies hesitated, thrown off by his calm and arrogant tone. But their shock quickly turned to anger.
"Still acting like you're above us, huh? You're nothing without that fox of yours!" Lu Nian snarled, stepping forward, his fist raised.
Fox? Reon's heart skipped a beat. Do they mean the Mist Cloud Fox? Damn it, I can't summon it in this state! If I could, do you think I'd be standing here pretending to be tough?
"Damn it, Lu Nian, attack him now!" Wei Xiyan barked. "If he summons that fox, we're done for!"
Lu Nian lunged forward, his fist crackling with Qi.

A faint, translucent barrier shimmered into existence in front of Reon, invisible to everyone but him.

In the backyard of the abode, a young man was diligently practicing his cultivation techniques. Upon hearing a loud noise, he quickly sprinted toward the front yard.

Lu Nian's fist collided with the barrier. The impact sent a shockwave through the air, but to his horror, it felt as if he had struck a mountain. A sickening crunch echoed through the yard as the bones in his hand shattered.
"Aggghh!" Lu Nian cried out, clutching his mangled hand.
Wei Xiyan and the other boy froze, their eyes widening as they stared at Reon. He hadn't even flinched. It was as if Lu Nian's attack had been stopped mid-air by an invisible force.
[Ding! The Bull Stopping Shield has been used. Two uses remaining.]
Reon felt a wave of relief wash over him. He knew that without the shield, that punch would have shattered the bones he had only just managed to heal. But he maintained his stoic facade, his voice calm and cutting.
"Even in my weakest state, you are no match for me," he said, his gaze steady as he stared down the trembling duo.
"You bastard!" Wei Xiyan growled, his face twisting with rage. "Don't think you can hide behind tricks forever!"
He and his companion charged forward, but before they could reach Reon, heavy footsteps echoed through the yard.
"What are you doing to my big brother, you bastards?!"
The voice rang out like a thunderclap, and all three boys turned to see a young man sprinting toward them, his face alight with fury.
