Isabel POV
The ground shook beneath us as we ran, the sound of explosions and gunfire fading into the distance. Marissa was ahead,
We need to keep moving," she said, her voice clipped.
I nodded.
The faint glow of city lights appeared on the horizon, offering a glimmer of hope.
Miguel POV
The logistics hub was in ruins, its systems crippled and its guards scattered. But I didn't stay to admire the damage. I had one priority: getting back to Isabel and Marissa.
Navigating the city's outskirts, I kept to the shadows, my senses on high alert. Every sound felt amplified, every shadow a potential threat.
"Hold on," I muttered under my breath.
The rendezvous point was a small alley tucked behind an abandoned warehouse. When I arrived, they were already there.
Isabel POV
Miguel's arrival was a relief.
"You're late," Marissa joked.
Miguel ignored her, his focus shifting to me. "You, okay?"
