Chapitre 44: Chapter 44 Harry's Discovery

Although Harry had promised Hermione and Eisen that he wouldn't meddle in other people's business, when he stumbled upon something extraordinary, he couldn't resist getting involved.

After leaving the library, Harry quickly turned around and went back.

At that moment, Hermione and Ron were busy quizzing each other on astronomy. They were surprised when Harry returned, and he immediately told them everything he had overheard.

"So, Snape finally figured it out?" Ron exclaimed. "If Snape got from Quirrell the way to break a magical protection spell, wouldn't that mean—"

"But don't forget, Lu Wei is still guarding it!" Hermione interrupted, stopping Ron from finishing his thought.

"Are you sure Snape doesn't know how to deal with Lu Wei?" Ron pointed at the bookshelves around them. "I bet there's a book somewhere in here that explains how to handle a three-headed dog. So, what do we do now?"

Harry's eyes gleamed with excitement. Stop meddling? How could it be meddling when it was about stopping evil?

But before Harry could speak, Hermione cut him off.

"We go to Professor Dumbledore. We should have done that in the first place. If we act alone again, not only will we lose another 100 points, but we'll definitely get expelled!" Hermione's words were like cold water thrown on Harry's eagerness.

"But we don't have any proof!" Harry said after a long pause. "Quirrell was terrified, and Snape threatened him. He's never going to testify for us. Snape could just tell Dumbledore that he doesn't know how the troll got in on Halloween, and we'd have no way to expose him. Everyone knows we don't get along with Snape, so Dumbledore will think we're making this up just to get him fired. And how would we explain how we know about the Sorcerer's Stone and Lu Wei? It's too complicated."

Hermione was convinced. They knew too much, and explaining everything to Dumbledore would be difficult without giving away their knowledge about the Philosopher's Stone and Lu Wei.

"We could tell Eisen!" Ron suddenly suggested, his eyes lighting up.

"But Eisen already told Dumbledore, and Dumbledore trusts Snape completely," Harry pointed out.

"Then we could tell Eisen about this but ask him not to go to Dumbledore. Instead, he could keep an eye on Snape quietly," Hermione proposed, her eyes brightening with the idea.

"That's brilliant!" Harry and Ron agreed eagerly.

"Alright then, you two keep studying. I'll go talk to Eisen," Hermione said, placing a Jupiter astronomy map in front of them before heading off.

...

In his office, Eisen was practicing Transfiguration.

A playing card floated in his hand, transforming into different shapes—a bird, a cheetah, a blade, vines, chains, and a whip.

Knock, knock—

Eisen was deep in concentration when the knock interrupted him. He returned the card to its original form and opened the office door.

"Come in!" he called.

"Professor Eisen!" Hermione walked in, looking as charming as ever. Anyone who saw her would have praised her.

"Hermione, what brings you here?" Eisen asked, slightly surprised. He tossed the card in his hand, transforming it into a chair for her to sit.

With exams just around the corner, he expected Hermione to be busy studying.

"Yes, Professor, it's about something Harry discovered—" Hermione looked a bit hesitant but quickly explained everything.

"Harry found out that Snape learned from Quirrell how to break the magical protections!" Eisen nodded knowingly but then gave her a curious look. "But weren't you all supposed to stop meddling?"

"This—this—well, that's why we decided to tell you and ask for your help in keeping an eye on Snape!" Hermione stammered under Eisen's questioning gaze but managed to explain.

"I see." Eisen finally understood. For Hermione and her friends, getting a professor to watch Snape seemed like the best solution. If Snape tried anything, Eisen could stop him or call for Dumbledore's help.

"Alright, I'll keep an eye on Snape. But if Harry finds out anything else, make sure he tells me immediately, got it?" Eisen agreed after thinking for a moment.

He also wanted to stay informed about Harry's findings, as this would give him a reason to be involved and get closer to the Philosopher's Stone.

"Thank you, Professor Eisen! I'll go tell the others. Goodbye!" Hermione nearly leapt out of her chair in excitement, grateful for his help.

After she left, a smile spread across Eisen's face. He had been waiting for this opportunity for almost a year.

Ever since Eisen had accidentally refined an observation mirror with extraordinary qualities, he had suspected that the Philosopher's Stone held even greater potential.

There was no way he could pass up this chance. After all, the Philosopher's Stone had been crafted by none other than Nicolas Flamel, and it might be the only one of its kind in the world.

The problem was, after Flamel decided he no longer wanted to live, he entrusted the Stone to Dumbledore and arranged for it to be destroyed. So, unless Eisen could somehow create his own Philosopher's Stone, this might be his last opportunity to study it.

But could Eisen really create his own Philosopher's Stone? Honestly, he didn't know. Although he had a special advantage, his unique talent primarily enhanced his personal strength, not his skills in alchemy. He wasn't confident he could replicate Flamel's success.

In the thousands of years of wizarding history, only Nicolas Flamel had successfully created the Philosopher's Stone. That spoke volumes about the difficulty involved.

"It's a shame. If my power could boost alchemy skills, I'd be able to whip up ten or twelve Philosopher's Stones by now!" Eisen mused, shaking his head in disappointment.

His ambition and greed were so evident that anyone watching would have been tempted to punch him.

I hope your like the chapter 😊.
