Kaito arrived early at the under-construction building. Two workers noticed him at the entrance.
"Hey! Over here!" one of the workers called, waving his hand.
Kaito walked closer, sensing their worried expressions. "Are you an adventurer from the Leatherback Sea Turtle Guild?" the first worker asked anxiously.
"Yes. My name is Kaito Liu," Kaito replied.
"Thank you for coming so quickly. I'm Nobi, and this is my colleague Honekawa. I sent a quest to the guild earlier," Nobi explained.
"We found something strange… a big blue portal inside the construction site," Honekawa added quickly.
"Can you take a look at it? We're worried it might be dangerous," Nobi said, his tone urgent.
"Of course! Leave that job to me," Kaito said cheerfully, though his expression shifted to concern as he glanced at the blue portal. I must finish this before Haruto comes, he thought.
"Just be careful. We're not sure what the portal leads to," Nobi warned, watching Kaito closely.
"Yeah, and if you need help, don't hesitate to shout," Honekawa added.
"No need to worry. I'm used to strange happenings. Just stay outside and guard the entrance," Kaito said with a grin.
Nobi and Honekawa exchanged worried glances as Kaito entered the blue portal.
Kaito walked deeper into the dungeon, the air growing cooler and the light dimmer. He stopped, his senses on high alert. After this, 20 goblins will emerge. Better get ready, he thought.
Kaito opened his interface. An interface appeared before him.
LV 4
QTY: 4
List of Infinite Harem Systems:
1. I Have Infinite Nymphs
2. Infinite Harem of Demon Queens
3. Harem x Harem
4. The Dragon's Infinite Harem
… (continues infinitely)
Kaito noticed something different. This interface is different from what I got from the Book Witch. It shows LV and QTY. Is there any explanation for this? he wondered.
Kaito selected LV in hope of getting an explanation. Suddenly, an explanation appeared in a new interface on top of LV.
Explanation: LV is an abbreviation of level. The level is a measurement of how strong you currently are. You have an unlimited level cap.
Just like almost every LitRPG novel character, I can level up infinitely, Kaito thought.
Then Kaito selected QTY. The explanation interface for LV disappeared. Suddenly, an explanation appeared in a new interface on top of QTY.
Explanation: QTY is an abbreviation of Quantity. The Quantity is the amount or number of a material or abstract thing not usually estimated by spatial measurement. The number of summons equals your level. The higher your level, the more you can summon.
I thought I could summon an Infinite Harem right here, right now… Kaito thought, feeling a bit disappointed. Are the Book Witch lying to me? He sighed deeply, frustration evident on his face. "Oh, well. It's better than nothing."
Determined, he selected "I Have Infinite Nymphs." Suddenly, four beautiful nymphs appeared, each radiating their own unique charm. Their presence was almost ethereal, captivating Kaito instantly.
The first nymph had long, flowing hair that shimmered like spun gold, cascading down her back in soft waves. Her eyes were a deep, enchanting green, reminiscent of the lush forests she embodied. Her skin was smooth and radiant, with a delicate glow that seemed to emanate from within. She moved with a grace that was both mesmerizing and serene, her every step light and fluid.
The second nymph's hair was a striking shade of silver, glistening like moonlight on water. Her eyes were a piercing blue, as clear and deep as the ocean. Her features were delicate and perfectly symmetrical, with high cheekbones and a soft, inviting smile. Her skin was cool to the touch, like a refreshing breeze on a summer day, and she exuded an aura of calm and tranquility.
The third nymph had hair the color of rich, dark mahogany, cascading in loose curls around her shoulders. Her eyes were a warm, honey-brown, filled with kindness and wisdom. Her skin was sun-kissed, with a healthy, radiant glow that spoke of vitality and life. She moved with a confident, purposeful stride, her presence commanding attention and respect.
The fourth nymph's hair was a vibrant, fiery red, flowing like a river of flames. Her eyes were a striking amber, glowing with an inner fire and intensity. Her skin was smooth and flawless, with a warm, golden hue. She moved with a fierce, untamed energy, her every motion filled with passion and strength.
Each nymph was dressed in flowing garments that seemed to be woven from the very elements they represented. The first nymph's dress was adorned with delicate leaves and flowers, the second's with shimmering water droplets, the third's with rich earth tones, and the fourth's with flickering flames. Their beauty was otherworldly, their presence both enchanting and awe-inspiring.
"I need to finish the goblins before Haruto comes," he murmured to himself.
He quickly grabbed a dungeon stone, preparing for battle. "OK, let's go!"
"Let's go!" the nymphs echoed happily.
"Huh?! You can talk!?" Kaito exclaimed, eyes wide.
"Of course we can! We're not just pretty faces, you know!" one of the nymphs replied with a playful smile.
Kaito chuckled. "Yeah, right. I thought you were like any game character that can't talk."
Another nymph nudged Kaito, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "No, we are real. We have thoughts, feelings, and a lot of sass!"
"Alright, I'm sorry," Kaito said, smiling.
Suddenly, the sound of laughter filled the air as 20 goblins burst onto the scene, their eyes gleaming with malice.
Kaito, determined, thought, This is just a level 1 dungeon. I can finish it with my new ability without Haruto.
He hurled the dungeon stone at one of the goblins, hitting it squarely in the chest and sending it flying. The goblins, momentarily stunned, quickly recovered and grew serious, their laughter replaced by snarls.
One of the nymphs confidently said, "We've got your back, Kaito!"
Another nymph smirked, "Let's show these goblins what we're made of!"
Kaito grinned, his eyes blazing with determination. "Alright, team. Let's do this!"
The first nymph sprang into action, darting forward and engaging the nearest goblin. "Take this!" With a swift kick, she sent the creature sprawling against the cold stone wall, where it lay motionless, a testament to the nymph's speed and power.
"Nice one!" Kaito shouted, a proud smile crossing his face.
The second nymph followed suit, using a combination of agile flips and precise strikes to keep the goblins at bay. She weaved through their ranks, delivering a series of rapid punches that left several goblins dazed and confused.
"Keep it up!" Kaito encouraged, his voice echoing through the chamber. The goblins began to swarm, but the nymphs' movements were a blur, each strike precise and devastating.
"Watch your flank!" Kaito called out, concern creeping into his voice.
Meanwhile, the third nymph took a more strategic approach. She positioned herself behind the fray, using another nymph as a distraction. With every movement, she observed the goblins' patterns, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
"Stay sharp!" she whispered to herself, her eyes narrowing with focus.
As the fourth nymph engaged a group of goblins, the third nymph leaped into the air, executing a powerful spinning kick that knocked three goblins off their feet and sent them crashing into their comrades.
"Well timed!" Kaito cheered, a flicker of hope igniting in his eyes.
Yet, the goblins were relentless. They regrouped quickly, their feral instincts kicking in. A few of the more cunning ones began to flank Kaito's nymphs, attempting to outmaneuver them.
"They're surrounding us!" one nymph warned, her voice tinged with alarm.
One particularly bold goblin lunged at the fourth nymph, but with a swift sidestep, the nymph avoided the attack and retaliated with a powerful jab that sent the goblin flying.
"Not today!" she spat, her voice filled with defiance.
As the battle raged on, Kaito realized that his nymphs were beginning to tire. "I never thought this fight would be even," he muttered, a hint of worry creasing his brow.
The goblins, though weaker individually, were using their numbers to their advantage. They began to coordinate their attacks, creating a whirlwind of fists and claws that threatened to overwhelm the nymphs.
"We're getting overwhelmed!" another nymph gasped, her breaths coming in ragged bursts.
In a moment of clarity, Kaito called out to his nymphs, "Let's combine our strength!" The nymphs nodded in unison, and with a surge of energy, they executed a synchronized maneuver. They formed a circle, channeling their energy into a single, powerful attack.
"Together!" Kaito yelled, his voice carrying a sense of unity.
With a unified shout, they unleashed a barrage of punches and kicks that sent shockwaves through the dungeon. The goblins, caught off guard, were thrown into disarray. Several were knocked out cold, while others scrambled to regroup.
"Press the advantage!" Kaito urged, his heart pounding with adrenaline.
But Kaito and his nymphs pressed the advantage, taking down the remaining goblins one by one with a flurry of swift and precise strikes. In the end, the dungeon fell silent, save for the echo of Kaito's victorious breath. The floor was littered with defeated goblins, and as the nymphs happily celebrated, Kaito stood tall, a testament to the power of teamwork and strategy against overwhelming odds.
"It's longer than when I was with Haruto. Haruto's level 4 is different from mine," Kaito reflected, a mix of pride and determination in his eyes.
The air in the dimly lit dungeon crackled with an ominous energy as Kaito and his four nymph companions approached the pulsating red orb. The stone walls, damp and cold, seemed to close in around them, amplifying the sense of foreboding.
The first nymph's eyes flickered with curiosity. "What is this?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Kaito took a step closer, his gaze locked on the orb. "We call it a spawn point, or more correctly, a monster spawn point."
"Spawn point? What does it do?" the second nymph asked, tilting her head as she studied the orb, her fingers tracing the air as if she could feel its energy.
"It's where monsters are born. In this case, goblins that we just fought," Kaito explained, his tone serious.
"So the 20 goblins that we just battled came from here?" the third nymph inquired, her eyes widening in realization.
"Yes," Kaito confirmed, his expression grim.
"That's crazy! That means there are a lot of these things in this world," the fourth nymph exclaimed, wide-eyed, her voice echoing slightly in the confined space.
"Yes, but they're usually found deep within dungeons. Sometimes you might find them outside, but that's rare," Kaito added, glancing around as if expecting more monsters to appear.
"So, what are you going to do now?" the first nymph asked, her voice tinged with concern.
"I will make it vanish," Kaito replied, determination in his eyes.
"How?" the second nymph questioned, stepping closer to him.
"I have the ability to interact with spawn points. Not just me—every adventurer must have this ability; it's a basic skill we learn," Kaito said, his voice steady.
"Wow, that's an incredible ability!" the third nymph remarked, her admiration clear.
Kaito nodded. "Yes, it has its advantages."
He stepped closer and extended a hand toward the orb, feeling its warmth pulse against his fingertips. Suddenly, a holographic interface sprang to life before them, glowing with vibrant text.
Interface: Goblin Spawn Point
Level: 1
Name: Goblin
Gender: Male
Spawn Speed: 48 hours
Quantity: 20
Kaito narrowed his eyes as he adjusted the quantity to 0. A notification popped up: "Confirm changes? Yes / No." His hand hovered over the "Yes" button. With a decisive click, he confirmed the changes.
The atmosphere shifted, and then the spawn point vanished into thin air like mist dispersing in the wind.
"You can adjust the quantity?" the fourth nymph asked, stunned.
"Yes," Kaito confirmed, his voice calm.
An uneasy expression crossed the fourth nymph's face. "If you can do that, then… if some adventurer misuses this ability… the world would be in danger!"
Kaito's expression turned serious. "Well, let's pray it doesn't come to that. Power in the wrong hands can lead to chaos. We must always be vigilant."
"We will stay by your side, Kaito," the first nymph said, nodding firmly.
"Together, we'll make sure the world is safe!" the second nymph added with a determined look.
"Those goblins won't stand a chance with us around!" the third nymph said, smiling lightly.
Kaito smiled softly, his heart warming at their fierce loyalty. After that, his face became serious again. "Let's see if the gate from last time will appear or not."
***
Kaito stood by the seemingly empty space, tapping his foot impatiently. The world around him was quiet, with only the faint sound of dripping water echoing through the dark cavern. The cold, damp air clung to his skin, adding to the eerie atmosphere.
"It should appear here just like last time," he muttered to himself, his voice barely audible over the dripping water.
The first nymph tilted her head, her curiosity evident. "What are we waiting for?"
"A gate," Kaito replied, his eyes scanning the area.
"A gate?" the second nymph echoed, bouncing slightly on her toes, her excitement palpable.
"Yes, but it's not appearing. It's strange," Kaito said, frowning. His frustration was growing with each passing second.
Suddenly, a voice cut through the stillness. "Kaito!"
Kaito turned around, his face lighting up with joy. "Haruto, my buddy!"
Haruto rushed over, his expression a mix of concern and relief. "The construction worker told me that you entered the dungeon alone. I'm glad you're okay."
Kaito shrugged. "Well, this level 1 dungeon is an easy quest."
Haruto glanced around and noticed the four nymphs standing beside Kaito, his curiosity piqued. "Who are these?"
Kaito grinned proudly. "My new power."
"Your new power? I never knew you had this kind of power," Haruto said, intrigued.
Kaito beamed, clearly pleased with himself. "Well, I got it recently."
"How?" Haruto asked, raising an eyebrow.
Kaito chuckled playfully. "It's a long story. Let's just say I found it."
Haruto looked intrigued but skeptical. "That's not really an explanation. You should tell me someday."
Kaito nodded in agreement. "Sure, someday."
Haruto shifted his focus to the nymphs, adjusting his demeanor to be more polite. "My name is Haruto Yamamoto, nice to meet you."
The first nymph smiled brightly. "Nice to meet you, my name is Thespia."
The second nymph bounced a little. "Nice to meet you, I'm Eudora!"
The third nymph gave a gentle nod. "Nice to meet you, my name is Kelleia."
The fourth nymph grinned. "Nice to meet you, I'm Aleina!"
Kaito's eyes widened in surprise as he processed the introductions. "All of you have names?!"
The nymphs looked at each other, giggling softly, while Kaito couldn't help but join in the laughter.
"Well, of course! We're not just random magic, you know!" Thespia said with a wink.
"We have our own identities, just like you," Kelleia added, her eyes sparkling.
Haruto smirked, crossing his arms with a playful glint in his eyes. "This is new… You've really leveled up, haven't you, Kaito?"
Kaito grinned. "You could say that!"
"What are you waiting for? Let's go back to the guild and finish the quest!" Haruto suggested.
"Please wait a moment," Kaito said, his expression turning serious.
"Are you waiting for something?" Haruto asked, noticing Kaito's thoughtful silence.
Kaito thought to himself, "I can't tell Haruto about the gate yet and what happened to him. I need the gate to appear first, but… it's still not appearing."
Suddenly, three members of the Witch Magician Guild walked into the dungeon: Hardi, Cedonia, and Juniper.
"No! They finished the quest already!" Hardi exclaimed.
"We're late," Cedonia said, sighing.
"This is just great…" Juniper muttered.
Haruto looked shocked at the sight of them, while Kaito smiled because they were still alive.
"It's a waste of time coming here!" Hardi said, turning around to exit the dungeon. "Cedonia, Juniper, let's go!"
Before Cedonia and Juniper could leave, Kaito called out to them. "Cedonia, Juniper."
They turned to look at Kaito. "Be safe," he said.
Cedonia and Juniper exchanged confused glances since they didn't know Kaito well. "Thank you," Cedonia replied.
Juniper nodded in agreement. They both turned to exit the dungeon.
"What was that?" Cedonia asked.
"Is he interested in us?" Juniper wondered aloud.
Haruto glared at Kaito, who noticed. "Do you want to add more harem girls?" Haruto asked, smirking.
Kaito just laughed. "Let's go, buddy."
"I think we should go now," Thespia suggested.
"Ah, thanks," Kaito replied.
"No need for that; we are your power," Aleina said with a grin.
The four nymphs disappeared. Kaito and Haruto walked towards the exit, but Kaito took a final glance at where the mysterious gate had appeared before. He sighed, glad that the gate had not appeared, but still wondered why it wasn't showing up.
