TWO DAYS LATER.
The anticipation coursing through Olivia since dawn was almost unbearable. She had resisted the temptation to call as soon as she woke, forcing herself to focus on getting ready until she arrived at her office. Finally, unable to wait any longer, she picked up her phone and dialled Nene's contact.
"Good morning," Olivia greeted, her tone calm, though her anticipation crackled beneath the surface. "You asked me to call today. Has Mrs. Scott returned?"
Nene's polite but distant voice replied, "Good morning, Mrs. Owen. Her flight will land in an hour, and I will be heading to the airport to pick her up shortly."
Relief washed over Olivia, and she exhaled audibly. Without hesitation, she asked, not waiting for a formal invitation, "What time should I come over?"
Nene's tone remained measured as she replied, "Please, be ready at 5 PM. We will send a car to pick you up."
