Chapitre 7: Lonely in the room

After Siggy registered and paid all the required fees to enroll him, she was set to leave the university before it got late.

They paid a total amount of seven hundred Greys for the fees and added an extra two hundred for the specialty of his course and to get a lecturer.

Before Siggy left, she had a little conversation with Seven and gave him bunches of advice.

"This is the very beginning of your journey, Seven. You have to be strong, determined, and hardworking no matter what. You might be the only Vanquisher with a Cat-type Vessel in the entire country, but that only makes you unique, not useless."

"I believe you can become a great man if you could be brave in all situations," Siggy said.

"I promise to give my all, Mother. I will not let you down," Seven said with a serious look on his face.

Nodding with a smile, Siggy rubbed his cheeks.

"I have to go now. Your father is having a guest in the house so I have to be there when they arrive," Siggy smiled while she informed Seven.

"Alright, Mother, have a safe journey," Seven smiled back.

"You can always reach out to me from the university's communication cell every month. I will also try to visit on the Open Day," Siggy said.

Seven knew this all, so he only nodded in response.

His mother kissed him on both cheeks before she left, and he was left on a bench on the balcony of the vice chancellor's office building.

There were up to seven different buildings in the university, with two of these buildings appearing to be for the staff. The rest of the five buildings, which had a different structural style, were the learning and boarding areas.

While the university was aging, there were still little things to be admired. There was enough land for combat training and slight adventures, and it was said that there was a forest at the edge of the lands. No, it was more like a base... A base where Vessels are kept free from shackles and only wander around.

Every student ventures into this place with their Vessel to confront the Vessels in there and then gain Evo Units if they happen to slay the Vessel.

It was another way of helping a Vessel improve instead of teaching it an Art. Mostly, slaying other Vessels appeared to be the most favored way to grow stronger even faster.

When the apocalypse ended, strange green screens began appearing in human eyes after they vanquished their first Vessel. Although this was not similar to Seven's Ultimate Evolution System, it only showed the progress of one's evolution, Skills, rank, and magic status.

It was no longer strange to anyone after centuries since they had accepted it as a new culture.

The difference between the Ultimate Evolution System and the typical screen that all Vanquishers see was:

The Ultima Coins, the revelation of his personal stats, and as well, the astonishing uniqueness of the Skills he gained.

No one in the entire Terraverde had reported seeing a message on the green screen showing their bloodline, name, and Ultima Coins.

The Ultima Coins were really what Seven wanted to know about. But now, he had to focus on finishing his entry to the university.

After sitting and waiting on the balcony for almost two hours, a young man who seemed to be in his late thirties approached Seven. He was clad in a long black shirt and long black trousers, then a long black leather jacket that almost reached his feet was added on top.

On the left side of this jacket was a batch that held the logo of Black Star University, a typical black star with a tiny golden spot in the middle.

"You are Seven Hermes, right?" The fair man asked.

"Yes, sir," Seven quickly replied.

"Okay then, follow me. I will lead you to your dormitory," the man nodded and attempted to walk away.

Quickly, Seven stood up from the bench and followed suit.

It was already afternoon at that time, but the university premises were still as busy as hell due to the enrollment event. Seven had had enough of the noises; now he needed to get to his room to have some rest.

The staff led him out of the vice chancellor's office and to a different building. It was visibly the last building in the ranges, more like this building hadn't been used at all. No, it was much like there were just a few people in this building.

'Must be a place for the useless students, I guess.'

With that thought, he kept following the fair-skinned man until they got to a particular room.

"Here are the keys. This will be your room from now on. There is a cafeteria in the next building... The restroom is attached to your room also. Your lecturer will come for a visit as soon as she arrives tomorrow," the staff said.

Seven nodded and collected the keys, then he opened the door which had an iron hinge with one of the keys. While the staff walked away, Seven entered the room.

It was a little fortunate that he would be living alone in this room. In the first place, he was someone who didn't like to be around people.

Perhaps it was a result of being neglected by his family right from a young age. He never had anyone by his side.

Now, that lifestyle had acted on him, making him feel comfortable with not having friends.

Entering the room, Seven observed every corner. There was a wardrobe on the left side, a small bookshelf by the right, a table, two wooden chairs, and a bed that could contain an individual properly.

The room was painted in white, but all had almost faded. Seven ignored this picture and went ahead to his new bed. He kept his bag containing his clothes close to the wardrobe and kept the other bag containing his books at the side of the bed.

Then, he rested on the bed after a sigh...

A few minutes later, while almost falling asleep, a sound in his head jolted him awake.

MEOW!

"Hey, master! I'm hungry. I need to eat some meat!"
