Cecilia plummeted through the air, her gaze fixed on the ground far below.

She could already see what awaited her—a blanket of snow, but not like anything she'd ever encountered before. This was no soft, wintery flakes that dusted the streets of Imperial City in December.

No, this was something colder, sharper, almost alien. Her breath hitched as the wind howled around her, but she had no time to prepare for the landing.

She hit the ground with a thud, the cold radiating through her body as she sank a little deeper into the snow.
