Chapitre 47: The Faceless

In the distance, a massive ship was moving toward the island. Onboard were passengers of average wealth and ordinary "Vex powers." They were neither poor like the lower class nor noble or powerful enough to be considered of high status.

In the ship's lower deck, a pile of dismembered corpses lay in one corner. The metallic scent of blood hung heavily in the air. Standing in the middle of this horrific scene was a woman whose face was completely covered in makeup. Her painted expression reflected sorrow; blue streaks running down from her eyes made her resemble a crying clown.

The woman tilted her head to the side and let out a faint chuckle, her voice sharp and high-pitched.

"Oh, what a pity! You couldn't even try hard enough to entertain me. How disappointing…"

She cast a mocking glance at the corpses before turning her gaze to the wounded man left alive.
