Shennongjia is located in the western part of Hubei Province, Huaxia, covering an area of about 3,253 square kilometers, with more than 85% of it being forested, making it the largest primitive jungle in central China.
"The last ancient civilization relic on Earth," Wang Yi marveled as he watched a 3D virtual display from his sleek black fighter jet, which flew at high speed.
The Zerg race—universally feared. Even the weakest Zerg offspring in the universe is comparable to a world lord, and many are as powerful as immortal beings.
And deep within Shennongjia, there lies one.
The Zerg, a peak race in the universe on par with humanity, are peculiar. Their offspring is the true intelligence behind the Zerg, while Zerg warriors are low-witted, ruled entirely by instinct and absolute loyalty to the young. Wang Yi shook his head as he recalled these details. "This world-lord-level Zerg spwan was acquired by the master of Meteorite Star during an 'outside battlefield' campaign."
The Zerg Empress within the nest slumbers in a permanent state. Only an immortal being with greater soul mastery than Hu Yanfu could awaken her.
In the lush, ancient jungle—an untouched wilderness for millennia—there was a massive, ominous sphere, shrouded in toxic gas, emitting constant plumes of venom. The mysterious orb, over 800 meters in diameter, dominated the landscape.
Wang Yi's fighter jet hovered a few dozen kilometers away from the enormous sphere. He gazed at the terrifying life form, its venom corrupting the surrounding land. The brood's poisonous aura had left the soil blackened and sunken.
"The poison from that spwan is so deadly that even a cosmic-level powerhouse would struggle to approach it," Wang Yi muttered, uneasy.
He needed to get within 100 meters of the Zerg spwan to successfully check in. The further away he was, the lower the chance of high-level rewards. But the deadly gas created an impenetrable zone around the brood, making it impossible to approach safely.
"The poison is just gas," Wang Yi thought. "Maybe I can manipulate the external environment to get closer."
"Bermuda."
"Yes, master," came the crisp voice of his AI, Bermuda.
"Can the Black Dragon spacecraft withstand the poison gas?" Wang Yi asked.
Bermuda quickly responded, "No, master. The poison gas is extremely corrosive. The Black Dragon could only last 1.2 seconds before being compromised."
Wang Yi frowned. "Even with the shield?"
"Only 0.7 seconds with the shield, master."
Wang Yi wasn't pleased with the news.
"Looks like I'll have to resort to my last option." He stared at the massive sphere. "Bermuda, fire the b9 laser cannons at the poisoned area. Let's see if we can clear a path."
His plan was simple—use the cannons' firepower to create a temporary vacuum, dispersing the poisonous gas enough for him to dash through. If the gas could be blown away, he could make his move.
After careful observation, he noted that the gas escaped slowly from the brood. It had taken years to reach its current radius. If he could clear it, it wouldn't refill instantly.
"I can use my mental power and speed, bolstered by secret methods, to reach 8,000 meters per second. All I need is 2 seconds to get in, check in, and get out," Wang Yi calculated, breathing steadily.
"Bermuda has run the scenario tens of thousands of times. The success rate is over 99%." With that reassurance, Wang Yi prepared himself for the risky move.
Dressed in his combat suit and stepping onto his silver-gray flying device, Wang Yi steeled himself.
"Boom!"
Two brilliant laser beams shot from the Black Dragon spacecraft, slamming into the giant sphere in the distance. A shockwave rippled through the area, scattering the poison gas and clearing a large, safe zone.
Wang Yi, ready for action, became a blur of motion. In less than a second, he zipped towards the brood at lightning speed, slipping into the cleared zone.
"Check in!"
The poisonous gas began creeping back as Wang Yi watched it approach like a looming death cloud. But everything was going according to plan.
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for successfully checking in. You have been awarded a master-level 'Zerg spwan'.]
[The master-level 'Zerg Spwan' (larva) has been placed in the panel space.]
[Check-ins available at this location: 0]
"Let's go!" Without wasting a moment, Wang Yi vanished from the danger zone just as the poison gas enveloped his former position.
Moments later, he reappeared on a hillside kilometers away, panting heavily. He lifted the faceplate of his black combat suit, revealing a face full of relief.
"That Zerg offspring are terrifying," he muttered, still shaken by the oppressive aura of the alien lifeform.
"But..." Wang Yi's attention shifted to his sign-in panel, his eyes widening with disbelief.
"I actually signed in a Zerg spwan? Doesn't that mean there's a Zerg Empress in there?"
He blinked, staring at the panel. "So, panel... are you saying I got another sister?"
Sign-in panel: "..."
