Ariana POV
She hadn't connected the psychic's death to anything. It just seemed like a sad thing to happen, especially to such a nice man. But the timing gave her chills.
As they cleaned up and packed up the SUV with dark tinted windows, Ariana couldn't shake the chill she felt. It had nothing to do with swimming in the cool lake and everything to do with the threats to her life.
Aunt Sally put an arm around her. "I wish I'd known you were seeing a psychic--but honestly, I never thought you'd be the type."
Ariana shrugged. "People go to psychics and have tarot readings all the time, just for fun. They have psychics at parties. But I remember that Ouija board ..."
Aunt Sally shook her head. "I can only imagine my sister's reaction."
Ariana smiled, reminiscing.
Pearl Curran and Patience Worth are a literal historical ghostwriting team of legend. Look up the case, it's fascinating. And the Nun Study is likewise real...
Also, seriously, don't mess with Ouija boards. Just don't.
You may wonder why everyone is talking about other subjects and Dimitri is breaking into song. Well, it's been a tense few chapters, and they need to lift their spirits. Besides, I love the idea of him singing tunes from "The Sound of Music."
The idea of a vampire church just seemed interesting to explore--and religious people often speak up against injustices.
