The carriage halted before the mansion.

A blonde head and brown eyes, peeked through the gated fence, watching a woman descend. A servant swiftly provided an umbrella, shielding her from the sun.

Belladonna raised her brow, scrutinizing the woman's attire: a crimson, high-necked gown with puffed shoulders and slender, long sleeves. Her silver-gray hair was styled in an elegant updo, revealing hints of age.

The woman paused, then turned.

As their eyes nearly met, Ethan pulled Belladonna down, his hand grasping hers. He watched the woman's piercing gaze, searching through the shrubs and fences.

After a tense moment, she strode toward the mansion, servants trailing with luggage. Once she vanished, Ethan turned to Belladonna, frowning.

"Why did you raise your head?" he asked.
