Since it was morning, I had just enough time to shower and change my clothes before heading to the patrol stations to get reports and plan the rest of the day.

While I was still there, a mind link came from my grandfather. Two mind links in less than 24 hours? That was new.

"Ramsey?" his voice echoed in my mind. "Why aren't you in the office yet?"

"I'm on patrol, Grandpa!" I replied tersely.

"Well, leave whatever you're doing and come right away. I'm waiting for you in my office."

"Can't it wait? I was just about to brief the soldiers?" I said.

"Drop everything, Ramsey, and come now!" he growled, his annoyance seeping into the link before ending it.

I sighed, running a hand through my hair. Every part of my body screamed with fatigue.

I gave the warriors instructions before heading back to the Central Pack Building where his office was. I paused at the door, wondering why he needed to see me so urgently.
