Chapitre 43: Chapter 40. The God of Thunder or the God of Hammers? (Part 2)

"Are you saying that Thor needs his hammer to regain his power? And if someone else manages to lift it, they would also gain Thor's powers?" Coulson asked. His mind began racing with ideas: what to do with a weakened Thor, and how to use the hammer for research.

"Don't even think about it. You've already tried to lift the hammer and failed. Only the worthy can lift it. And don't forget, even without Thor's power, his father still wields it," Noah interrupted Coulson's musings.

Coulson, realizing Noah was right, understood that making any rash decisions would be unwise. Thor wasn't just any person—he was the prince of an entire kingdom. Interfering could lead to war.

The rain intensified, turning from a light drizzle into a downpour. Lightning flashed across the sky, as if welcoming Thor's arrival.

Jane, waiting outside for Thor, grew nervous as she watched the camp through the veil of rain. She could barely make out what was happening, and her worry increased. She sent a message to Erik, hoping that if Thor got caught, he could help.

Inside the camp, the fight continued, drawing the attention of Noah, Coulson, and Barton. Thor was battling a large agent, and both fell to the ground. The rain had turned the sand into mud, and now they were both covered in it, looking quite dirty.

After Thor kicked the last strong agent to the ground, he nodded in approval, showing respect for the prolonged fight. Pushing his wet hair back, he gasped for air as he entered the crater where his beloved hammer Mjolnir lay, a smile spreading across his face.

The three observers—Noah, Coulson, and Hawkeye—also saw this scene. Noah pressed a button on his belt and quietly said something to Lissandra. The belt then released nanomaterials, forming a camera in Noah's hand. He began recording the events, piquing the curiosity of his companions, who didn't understand what he was doing.

Thor happily approached Mjolnir and began talking to the hammer, expressing how much he had missed it. Then he gripped the hammer and tried to lift it, but nothing happened, even with both hands and all his strength. He couldn't lift his hammer.

At that moment, the sky rumbled with thunder, and lightning flashed.

Thor, releasing Mjolnir, stared at his hands in confusion, then let out a furious scream, realizing that his father, Odin, had likely rejected him for good. He sank to his knees, allowing the rain to pour down on him, while lightning illuminated his defeated figure.

The three observers above also witnessed this. Coulson and Hawkeye didn't understand what was happening and turned to Noah for answers. Why couldn't Thor lift his hammer? And why did he look so abandoned? Had the hammer rejected him?

"Noah, what's going on? Why can't he lift his hammer?" Coulson asked.

"He's not really the God of Thunder, but the God of Hammers. The hammer has rejected him, so now he's just a man. I'm kidding. You can think of it as a trial his father set up for him," Noah explained.

"So, without the hammer, he's not the God of Thunder? Maybe he really is the God of Hammers, like you said," Hawkeye added, looking at the dejected Thor. Earlier, his combat skills had seemed impressive, but now he looked utterly broken, which only added to the confusion.

"Yeah, it's strange. Anyway, let's head down," Noah said, continuing to film. After taking a few more shots, he put away the camera and, after a few steps, suddenly turned to Coulson.

"By the way, I almost forgot. Coulson, send someone over there to invite Thor's companion here. Ask them to be polite; she and Thor have a good relationship," Noah pointed to where Jane was, suggesting Coulson send someone to bring her inside. The rain was getting heavier, and leaving her outside in it would be impolite.

Coulson nodded, though he was tempted to ask Noah how he knew Thor had a companion, but he decided not to for now. He radioed his agents, instructing them to handle the task and emphasizing the need to be courteous. From Noah's tone, Coulson gathered that Thor's companion was likely more than just a friend.

Descending the stairs, Noah stepped onto the muddy ground. Yet his shoes remained clean, as if something was preventing the mud from sticking. Barton and Coulson didn't follow him, staying behind and watching his progress.

Soon, Noah approached Thor, who was still devastated by his inability to lift the hammer and hadn't noticed who was nearby.

"Thor Odinson, how did it happen that you became so pathetic in just one morning?"

Hearing this, Thor lifted his head. Before him stood a tall man with black hair in a brown coat. His handsome face and unusual aura gave him a certain charisma, but Thor didn't care since he wasn't interested in men.

Sensing strange magical energy, Thor, despite the rain and dim light, couldn't clearly see the face before him. However, the magic felt familiar—it was the same sorcerer who had told him the location of the hammer earlier that day.

Looking at Noah, Thor lowered his head again and gloomily muttered:

"I am no longer the prince of Asgard. I cannot lift Mjolnir and have lost the right to be the God of Thunder. My father has forsaken me."
