She walked and he tailed her, following her for close to an hour as she didn't stop. They walked from one end of the beach to another and then returned to where the walk had started. Finally, she decided to sit, and he of course parked his butt next to her, on a different chair.

After settling on the beach chairs, David was forced to ask if something was wrong.

"Pheebs just talk to me, maybe I can help. What is it that has you like this?" His tone was calm and soft.

"Not everything can be solved with money, Saxon." Phoebe told him and went silent. She wished that she could tell him about the fact that she was a Mayfair, but it was too soon.

What if the Mayfair's preferred the status quo? What if they didn't want her and that's why none of them had reached out to her. If a parent found their long-lost child, shouldn't they come running to meet her. What if they chose Ruth over her?
