Chapitre 18: Finn Vs. Griel
Durandal Island, Mines.
The walls of the cave trembled as Finn suppressed his Conqueror's Haki, flickering in front of Griel and fainting a punch.
He then vanished and reappeared behind Griel, delivering a powerful kick.
<Armament Haki: Invisible Coating> + <Rokushiki: Tekkai>
Griel skidded along the ground, but he had no time to recover as a blade of wind cut through the air toward him.
He barely managed to leap out of the way before Finn materialized in front of him, slamming him into the ground with a force that cracked the earth beneath him.
Griel coughed out blood but swiftly rose, launching a relentless assault on Finn.
Finn blocked Griel's attacks with ease, but the immense power behind each blow pushed him back.
Finn gritted his teeth as the force of each punch drove him backward.
"Damn it! My Haki isn't strong enough," Finn thought, struggling against Griel's onslaught. "He's actually pushing me back! I need it to get harder!"
<Observation Haki>
Dodging the attacks with precision, Finn recalled Garp's lesson during his training:
'Armament Haki isn't just about creating armor. It's about your spirit. Your will can make it as unyielding as steel.'
'That's right! If I just visualize… Visualize… Visualize!' Finn focused all his willpower, visualizing his Haki as an impenetrable shield enveloping him.
As he channeled his spiritual energy, his Haki visibly solidified, turning black and forming a dense, unyielding armor.
<Armament Haki: Hardening> + <Rokushiki: Tekkai>
Finn clenched his fists and declared, "Now let's do this!"
Their fists clashed with a resounding shockwave that sent both fighters reeling. Griel's eyes widened in surprise as he was pushed back. "This won't be enough to defeat me!"
They rushed at each other, colliding in mid-air and exchanging a flurry of blows.
The battle of strength quickly transformed into a contest of endurance, with both combatants taking heavy damage.
Blood streamed from their mouths as they continued their brutal exchange.
With a final, forceful impact, their fists connected, sending them both crashing into opposite walls. They lay there, struggling to rise, their bodies battered and bloodied.
Finn analyzed his situation, gasping, "...Damn it. I didn't want to use this, but I have no choice."
Struggling to his feet, Finn coughed up blood but stood firm, adopting a stance.
As Griel charged at him, Finn channeled his focus and energy, recalling his training with Garp.
He held out his arm, contracting his tendons to their absolute limit, building up kinetic energy as his muscles coiled.
'I discovered this when studying muscles for Tekkai, but I never tried it before. My body was too weak.'
With a determined breath, Finn shifted the energy from his lower body to his upper body and focused it into his tendons. As Griel closed in, Finn prepared for the release.
'But now, I don't have a choice…'
His arm turned black with the intensity of his Armament Haki, braced with Tekkai.
<Killer Moves: Zero-Point Impact>
BOOOOM!
In an explosive moment, Finn released the stored energy in a single, devastating punch.
The force of the blow created a shockwave that shattered Griel's defenses and delivered a crushing impact.
Griel was sent flying back, crashing into the wall with a thunderous impact that left a massive dent, rendering him unconscious.
CRACK!
The force of the punch propelled Finn into the wall behind him. He coughed out blood, his arm hanging limply.
'Shit… I'm still too weak to use this without side effects. My arm even refuses to move!'
Finn struggled to get out of the crevice, falling to his knees and clutching his right shoulder with his left. The cave began shaking violently.
"Gotta get out of here!" Finn gritted his teeth, trying to stand, but his body wouldn't cooperate.
He leaned against the wall, stumbling as the tremors grew stronger, causing debris to fall around him.
A large rock was about to crush him, but Finn sensed it and rolled out of the way. 'Come on, body… Move!' The cave quaked with increasing intensity as it started to collapse.
Finn glanced back, realizing he couldn't escape in time.
'Is this really how it ends? I haven't accomplished anything! I still have that promise to keep for Koby. I need to get stronger. There's so much I have yet to do!'
As rocks began to fall from above, Finn looked up in desperation, unable to do anything to save himself.
