Chapitre 39: Bound by Loyalty, Torn by Choice

Victor extends his hand to Nessa, urgency evident in his words as he asked her for his severed arm. Although visibly reluctant to do so, she swiftly pulls it out of her ring and hands it to him.

"Here, take it. But where are you taking him to? His injuries aren't exactly physical"

"The person we're going to doesn't exactly deal with physical injuries either."

"Who is he?"

"I met him after coming to Vel territory. And he's an…. Interesting person. Anyway Nessa, we've got to go"

And without wasting any ore time Victor turns back and leads them forward, quickly making their way through the camp as Kaleb groans in pain.

As she watches them leave, Cassie instinctively moves to follow them, her eyes fixed on Kaleb and her footsteps determined. But just as she does, Nessa reaches out and grabs her arm, halting her in place. Surprised, she struggles against her firm grasp.

"Nessa! What do you think you're doing? Let go!"
