[Aw, touching. Can we get back to scheming now?]
Elara laughed, her soft giggles lighting up the library's otherwise stuffy atmosphere. Amara, leaning against the edge of the table, couldn't help but join in, though hers was more of a begrudging chuckle.
"All right, fine," Amara relented, twirling a pen between her fingers. "We have a distraction plan for my family, and now we're stuck prepping for tomorrow's return to Love Under the Moonlight. What could possibly go wrong?"
[Don't ask questions you don't want answers to,] the system chirped. [History suggests that everything will go wrong when you're involved.]
Amara narrowed her eyes at the air. "Can't you ever take a day off?"
[Can you?]
Elara gave a knowing smile, clearly enjoying the back-and-forth. "Come on, Amara. Lorenzo's dramatic storm-off scene is practically tailored for you. You get to yell, look intense, and probably throw something."
