Chapitre 123: Visitations

Elara knocked softly on the grand mahogany door of the Lyselle mansion. Two days after Amara's discharge from the hospital, and she still couldn't believe she was casually strolling into a castle-sized mansion just to visit her girlfriend. It wasn't like Amara was royalty, though she certainly carried herself like it sometimes. No, Amara was just… Amara. Sarcastic, annoyingly competent, and somehow incredibly endearing.

The door opened to reveal Helena Lyselle herself, Amara's mother, whose smile was as welcoming as it was intimidating.

"Elara! Come in, dear," Helena greeted, sweeping her into a perfumed hug before Elara even had the chance to say hello. "You're here to see our patient, I presume?"

"Of course," Elara smiled, keeping her tone polite. Inside, she couldn't help but feel a bit of nervousness prickling her. Meeting the parents even if they were already her biggest fans was something she hadn't quite gotten used to.
