“Don't be too serious, Lottie,” he chuckled and joked, “By the way, I could smell the scent of another he-wolf on you and it’s not even two months after you have rejected me.”
My expression turned cold. Was he implying that I found my third-chance mate? But his tone... Although he tried to mask it as a joke, it was obvious that he was mocking me.
I didn't like the way he mocked me, so I retorted and mocked back. “I could smell the stink of another she-wolf on you.”
Theo sneered and snaked his arm around my waist, pulling me to his chest, making my body tremble involuntarily from disgust.
I tried to shove him away but his other hand went to cup the back of my head, immobilizing me in his strong hold.
He bent down slightly and placed his lips beside my ear.
Maybe because I had rejected him and broken our matebond or maybe because I had no more Lexi, so now I didn't feel the tingles his touch usually sent down my body. All I could feel was disgust.
