Chapitre 13: Contrast

At the first sign of dawn, Landon shot to his feet and got ready for the day. He drove out of the house before his mother or sister could persuade him to visit Yvonne in the hospital.

Hearing the maid report her son's departure, Patria's face flashed with worry. "Do you think he went out early to see Yvonne?"

After Landon refused to answer her call and didn't come to see Yvonne even after they told him she collapsed, Patria started to become afraid that her dream of Yvonne becoming her daughter-in-law was slipping away from her again.

Emma chewed on the sausage inside her mouth first before replying, "He's probably already regretting not coming to see her last night. When he passed me by earlier, I thought I saw a ghost. His eyes were bloodshot, and he looked unkempt. Hmph! Serves him right!"
