She came closer and closer and Asher didn't push her away.
He didn't push her away. Rose thought if she should stop watching. This was not watchable content, right?
But she didn't stop yet.
Mimi was just so close that their breaths were entangled. Rose watched Asher break her necklace and then push her away. Mimi stumbled back.
Asher sported an angry look on his face.
"No matter what, don't come close to me."
Mimi leaned back and her haughty look was gone. She somehow seemed sensible.
"Ha, you look like an ape trying to protect a banana. Just like the one in the zoo."
Whaaaa!
Rose couldn't believe such words came from Mimi. The same Mimi who looked like she worshipped the ground Asher walked on.
"Seems like living in foreign countries did not affect your humor."
She rolled her eyes.
"At least the men there are cuter than you. The men I dated look way better than you."
Asher wasn't bothered.
"Why are you here? We had a deal to never meet."
Mimi sat on the chair before him and crossed her legs. She had an aura that was just so domineering.
"My mom asked me to. You are like a fish bone stuck in the throat to her."
Asher didn't glance at her.
"We already distributed the inheritance as per the will. What's the issue then?"
Mimi tsked.
"You are an idiot, Asher. People don't find mistakes in themselves. They blame others. Guess what my dear mother thinks."
She looked at him. Her eyes were smiling. Rose noticed that she had deep blue eyes.
Gorgeous.
Asher didn't interrupt her.
"She thinks you took what should belong to my dear half-brother. Funny, isn't it?"
Asher sighed.
"Why are you here?"
He iterated again.
"Do you know what my mom did? She gave one million to my ex-boyfriend to break up with me. That's all fine but she wants me to marry you. Ha. She even convinced your dad."
Rose could see the deep pain in her eyes. She now understood who this Mimi was. She was the daughter from the previous marriage of Asher's dad's current wife.
"As if I would. Don't take this the wrong way. I never liked you."
Asher answered her.
She rolled her eyes.
"Buddy, you are too lean for my aesthetics. And I don't like you too. But hey, if you wanna play with our "parents" maybe we can marry."
Asher seemed to be in thought.
Rose felt something. She didn't know what but she didn't want Asher to answer.
"No!"
Rose felt refreshed now. It was as if she drank water after a really long time.
"Why not? You won't suffer with me. We each take what we want. We get them off our backs. And hey, getting married to you is better for me so I could have my boyfriends. At least no one would ask me to break up with them."
What? Was she the same innocent one who was with OTP thoughts? She wanted to have boyfriends when she was married. Whoa.
Asher frowned.
"Don't be like that. Who doesn't have some affairs in our circle? You should see my uncle."
"Yeah, don't learn from him. And no. I will marry the one I like or no one."
Rose felt that his statement was beautiful.
"Your loss."
She told him.
"Tell your dad to stop thinking about me marrying you then."
"Noted!"
"Okay, I'm leaving."
She then staggered out of the room with tears in her eyes. And then she ran away.
Rose clapped for her acting skills. If she didn't know what happened in the room, she would have believed this.
"Miss Wyatt, come in."
Rose gathered her thoughts and entered the room. She didn't want to show the thoughts on her face.
"Can you break this necklace with your ability?"
He said pointing to the ruby necklace on the ground.
She just uttered a spell and the necklace became a powder.
Asher then pressed his temples.
"Any issue, boss?"
He answered.
"Sit down."
Rose sat on the other chair.
"Is there something that can prevent spy cams from spying on you? Case in point- the necklace you demolished just now."
Oh, so, apparently, his father or his stepmom hid a micro camera in the necklace and gave it to Mimi to see his actions.
"I have a spell. Is there something you keep on you all the time?"
"Make a small charm, I'll add it to my pendant."
Rose then took out the crochet thread she had bought from her miniature space. She crocheted a small star and then spelled it.
"Attach this to your pendant. Any spy cam that you wish to not record will not be able to record you. The default is no recording. Change however you want. Just tell it."
Asher nodded.
"I'll send you the payment today. Thank you."
"Welcome, boss."
Rose didn't stay there and she moved back to her desk to think about what she saw.
Mimi was his step-sister. She was about two years older than him. Considering her words, she was proficient in the matters of love but she considered love as fickle.
Maybe because she observed so many failed relationships, she had firm thoughts about this. And she was back because her parents wanted her to marry Asher for his inheritance.
So, now, she had to protect Asher from his father and stepmom. They could do anything out of the ordinary and he needed her protection.
Great. Good to know. She could be on her toes now.
"Hey, Rose, come with us for lunch."
June sauntered in and smiled at her.
The lunch was spent talking about Mimi.
"Ah, she is the only nemesis to Claudia. Guess who won when they fought?"
Aiden asked her.
Rose would guess Mimi.
"Both are tied, haha. Mimi takes advantage of the family angle and Claudia, well, she makes passersby people like her. They are just bombshells waiting to be exploded."
He was right in his analysis.
"Miss Wyatt, please come in."
"Sorry, duty calls."
Rose ran away after eating.
She had to see what more work Asher would give her. But she got something unexpected.
"Hey, would you mind being my girlfriend?"
You asked! And here is Rose's character image. do you love it?
