After this little chat, Paul wanted to send the girl to get some more sleep but it was obvious to him that she would be unable to rest since she was now healed and well rested after sleeping for half a day and the whole night.
So he told her to watch the fire while he prepared some fish to roast.
He had no real work for her to do since she collected a lot of firewood the day before and he also had some in his storage space and there was nothing for her to do right now.
Paul also never planned to get himself two slaves in the middle of nowhere but it happened and now he had to do something about it.
While he was thinking about it, the older sister came out of the shelter.
She was having some difficulties with moving around but she was also tired of lying in the shelter all the time.
-Thank you for saving me and my sister.
Those were her first words to him.
She tried to bow and almost fell since her injuries weren't fully healed yet causing her to feel pain whenever she moved in the wrong way.
Paul managed to catch her before she fell.
-Don't force yourself, you almost died back then and your injuries were severe.
He said sitting the girl down slowly and using some of his mana to heal her a bit more and lessen the pain.
The younger sister saw what happened and became instantly worried for her sibling.
-Sister what are you doing here?
She asked the older girl.
-I can't just lay there all day and do nothing while you work.
The older sister said once she was able to talk again.
-But you are hurt and need to heal.
The younger girl wasn't giving up.
-I will be fine.
-No, you won't if you overdo it.
Paul interrupted their conversation.
-It will take some more time to heal you completely and you don't make it easier by moving around.
My magic can heal the wounds on your body but I have no way of restoring your blood so you will be weak for some time even after I finish healing you tonight.
The only thing preventing him from healing her completely was the lack of mana since it wasn't replenished yet but by the evening he would be able to finish healing her wounds.
-That is why you need to eat and rest as much as possible.
-But I can't let my little sister do everything.
She tried to argue.
-And what can you do right now?
Paul asked, knowing that she was unable to answer as there was nothing that she would be able to do right now.
-Since you can't do anything then eat breakfast and go back to rest.
His words were a bit harsher than he intended but they got his point across to her.
Hearing his words stunned the girl since she knew that she and her sister would become slaves to this man soon, her sister explained the situation they were in once she woke up the day before.
In their clan nobody cared if the slave was sick or injured, if they were unable to work then they were useless, and useless slaves were disposed of.
This human on the other hand not only took them in and healed them but even fed them without any contribution on their part.
She never thought that there was someone who treated his future slaves this well and he was also a human.
As far as she knew humans hated goblins and killed them whenever they had the chance so why was this human saving them?
Especially since if he wanted to make them his slaves then he had more than enough time to brand them already.
She couldn't understand this since this was a new experience for her.
Without any further conversation, the girls waited patiently for their meal after which the older sister did as she was told and went back to rest.
She didn't want to admit it but this bit of activity made her feel tired.
-Master, what are your orders now?
The younger girl asked after the meal.
She was full of energy and couldn't just sit around all day.
-There are none for now.
You will stay here and keep the fire burning, also keep an eye on your sister, and if something happens come to me immediately.
Paul had no work for her to do and this was a headache for him as she just kept pestering him for his orders.
The girl nodded.
Paul once again went to the river to cultivate, this time there were no fish in the vicinity so he just stripped down and dove right in.
He started by replenishing his mana and then advancing his levels all the way to level 21 before he switched to Qi cultivation and did the same.
Level 20 was a great achievement for any magician.
It granted them enough mana to cast their first basic spells and thanks to his physique and the fact that he always purified his mana as much as he could.
Paul's spells were much more potent and at level 21 he would be able to cast the basic healing spell at least two times in a row before he ran out of mana.
What was more important to him, was the fact that now he wasn't defenseless and could use some basic attack spells whenever he needed them.
Paul returned to the camp to find the younger sister bored and using a piece of a stick to draw something on the ground.
When he got closer he saw what she was drawing and was shocked.
The drawing was a map of the surrounding area and it was very precise as far as he could tell.
-Who taught you this?
Paul asked, causing the girl to jump up as she was too focused on her drawing and didn't notice his presence until he spoke up startling her.
-Master, you scared me.
She said breathing heavily.
-Sorry about that. But who taught you to draw maps like that?
He asked again.
-Nobody taught me, and what is a map?
A map is a drawing of the terrain on paper that helps people find their way, also this is a map of the camp and the surrounding area if I'm not mistaken.
Paul explained pointing at her drawing.
-I'm sorry master, I was bored and started to draw whatever was in my head.
The girl was apologetic because he caught her slacking off and it was a second time too.
-You don't have to apologize and this is a very good map.
Paul praised her and also calmed her down a bit since he was sure that she was expecting to be punished.
-Can you draw maps of any place that you have been to?
Paul asked curiously.
-If this drawing is a map then yes but I don't understand what good it would do since you can always just go there yourself.
Paul laughed at this comment, this girl had no idea how precious her gift was and how useful it could be to them when it was time to leave this place.
She was most likely born with the talent to be a cartographer or a navigator.
Both professions were rare and people who could draw such detailed maps as she just did were especially sought after and recruited at any cost even if it meant that they had to be captured and imprisoned.
-Girl you have a rare talent and it is not something that could be simply learned.
Without any training at all you just drew a map of this camp and the surrounding area with perfect detail.
This is a precious gift and also something that you can't tell anyone about aside from me and your sister.
-As you wish, Master.
She acknowledged his command but she was still clueless about why was that so important.
