Chapitre 59: Chapter 59: Who Dares to Disdain Tsunade? Takuya Yagami Dares

Danzo casually glanced at the contents of the document before placing it down. "Go ahead with the arrangements. You can also periodically increase the supply of fresh ingredients."

Tsunade needing special treatment? That was good news.

Danzo was eager for Tsunade to stay in the camp permanently, enjoying her special treatment every day. As long as Tsunade remained in the camp, she could save many injured shinobi, which was far more valuable to Danzo than having her on the front lines.

However, Tsunade disliked him. After a heated argument, she left the camp and headed to the battlefield, refusing to be persuaded to return.

Now, if Tsunade was willing to stay, wasn't that a good thing?

"Yes, sir."

Relieved by Danzo's approval, the logistics staff left the tent, now with a legitimate reason for their actions.

Once they were gone, Danzo spoke again. "That Takuya Yagami who arrived with Tsunade—is he in the camp?"

"Yes, Lord Danzo. He arrived with Jiraiya's disciple, Namikaze Minato. The Hokage specifically requested that Tsunade bring them to the front lines for training. Should I summon them?"

A Root ninja appeared in the tent, kneeling respectfully.

"No need. They're just kids. What's a pair of three-tomoe Sharingan worth? If Sarutobi values them, let them do as they please."

Though Danzo said he wasn't interested, the truth was, he was quite envious of Takuya's Sharingan and his genjutsu abilities.

But now was not the time for underhanded moves. Angering the Third Hokage could jeopardize his position, especially since Takuya's background made him too sensitive to target. Besides, Tsunade had taken a keen interest in the boy.

If Danzo made any move against Takuya, Tsunade would undoubtedly explode, and the camp would descend into chaos.

Faced with the choice between recruiting a promising talent and retaining his authority, Danzo decisively chose the latter.

As for Takuya embarrassing Shimura Hideaki—was that really a big deal? It was a trivial matter, hardly worth Danzo's attention.

There were plenty of people in the Shimura clan. If every little issue required his intervention, then Danzo might as well abandon his ambitions and just focus on solving his clan's problems.

"Yes, sir."

With his orders given, the Root ninja disappeared from the tent, leaving Danzo alone, his expressionless face furrowing into a deep frown.

He had allied with Koharu and Homura, working together to wrest control of the front lines from the Third Hokage. Yet, despite the power and authority that came with his position, Danzo found it uncomfortable, like sitting on a hot seat.

Every minor problem required his attention. That was one thing, and Danzo didn't shy away from scheming and plotting. But he was frustrated by his own limitations in directing the enemy's distribution and strategy.

He didn't want to relinquish his authority, but the weight of responsibility left him feeling caught between a rock and a hard place.

Moreover, the Third Hokage was keen to negotiate with Hanzo, hoping to end the war through diplomacy—something Danzo didn't want at all.

Danzo's ambition was to become Hokage, and to achieve that, he needed enough merits and recognition. If the Third Hokage led the negotiations and ended the war, the credit wouldn't go to Danzo.

Indeed, no matter where you are, it's always better to have someone powerful to rely on.

Look at them—they're eating dry rations while others get special treatment, and everyone's happy to offer them more.

Takuya couldn't help but feel a bit envious.

Gurgle…

Having not eaten a proper meal in a long time, Nawaki's stomach rumbled at the aroma of food. Takuya looked at him, exasperated.

"Nawaki, could you not be so embarrassing? Anyone who doesn't know you might think you're a refugee."

"Sometimes it's worse than being a refugee out here," came Tsunade's voice, perfectly timed to alleviate her brother's embarrassment. Otherwise, Nawaki might have been too mortified to move.

"Sis, is it time to eat?"

Nawaki jumped up, making way for Tsunade to sit. But she just turned her nose up at him.

After surveying the now-tidy tent, Tsunade chose to sit next to Takuya instead. The reason was simple: Nawaki's sleeping area was too messy, and it had a strange odor. No girl would want to sit near that smell.

After you eat, clean up your space. Don't embarrass yourself, and don't say I didn't warn you.

Tsunade sat down, giving Nawaki a warning look.

Nawaki had previously lived alone in a tent, but now, with two companions, his sloppiness was bound to be noticed.

As for Tsunade... Who would dare to disdain her?

"Did you wash your hands? Did you change your clothes? And you're sitting on my bed?" Tsunade's musings were abruptly interrupted as Takuya pushed her away.

The medical unit was full of all kinds of viruses and grime. Bringing even a tiny bit of that into the tent could be a disaster.

Nawaki, still smarting from Tsunade's earlier rejection, stared in shock at Takuya.

His sister, who had just snubbed him, was now being rejected by someone else!

Am I dreaming?

"You little brat, what did you say?" Tsunade's face reddened with anger as she glared at Takuya.

"I already washed up! If you don't believe me, come smell for yourself," she insisted.

"Is that so?"

Takuya leaned in suspiciously and took a sniff.

Minato was unfazed by this exchange; he had seen far more bizarre interactions between Takuya and Tsunade. This was nothing in comparison.

"..."

Minato might be used to it, but Nawaki was not. He felt like his world was crumbling.

His sister... she was letting a guy—no, a kid—get that close and do something so inappropriate!

Takuya Yagami, this is too much! Who goes around sniffing girls like that?

"Alright, no strange smells. You pass," Takuya finally relented, letting Tsunade off the hook.

"Let's eat. You're in luck—logistics sent over two bottles of sake just for you."

He gestured to the bottles on the side as he picked up his chopsticks.

"They're learning," Tsunade remarked.

"It's no wonder I work so hard saving people—it's exhausting! Takuya, give me a massage later. Your technique was pretty good last time; I felt great afterward."

"Get lost. Why would I?"

"Just say whether you will or not!"

"I refuse."

Why aren't you eating? Weren't you just complaining about being hungry?

Noticing Nawaki sitting there in a daze, Minato felt puzzled.

Is it because of Takuya and Tsunade arguing? Isn't that normal for them?

"Eat up! What's got you spacing out?" After her spat with Takuya, Tsunade finally noticed her brother's odd behavior.

"Huh? Oh, yeah, food. Right." Nawaki quickly shoveled rice into his mouth, forgetting to even grab any side dishes, his eyes darting between Takuya and Tsunade.

"Keep staring, and I'll pluck your eyeballs out," Tsunade threatened, glaring at him.

"..."

I'm your real brother, your flesh and blood. Why are you harsher with me than with others?

"Nothing beats a proper meal. I don't even want to leave the camp anymore," Tsunade sighed, her face flushed from the sake, as she collapsed onto Takuya's bed.

"Alright, time for that massage. I'm exhausted. If you don't give me one, I'm not leaving—"I will sleep in your bed tonight."

Clatter! Nawaki's bowl slipped from his hands onto the table.

All three of them—Tsunade, Takuya, and Minato—turned to look at him with questioning eyes.

Are you okay?

Why have you been acting so strangely all day?

You even dropped your bowl!
