Chapitre 2: One Piece

My mind was spinning in a whirlwind of confusion and terror. What I had just witnessed defied all logic: a monstrous creature, emerging from the darkest depths of the ocean, had devoured a gigantic sea beast in one terrifying motion. The echo of bones crunching still reverberated in my ears, and the image of that massive mouth closing over its prey was seared into my memory.

My heart pounded wildly as I tried to process the scene. What kind of aquatic hell was this? Questions flooded my mind, each more unsettling than the last. I pressed myself against the rough coral wall of the crevice where I had taken refuge, feeling the coarse texture against my new scaly skin.

Fear paralyzed me, but something else began to emerge from deep within me: a voracious, primal hunger that I had never experienced before.

That's when I saw it. A flash of color caught my eye in the murky underwater gloom. A fish, its scales shimmering with fluorescent reds and yellows, swam carelessly in front of my hiding spot. Its graceful movement seemed to mock my state of panic.

Without thinking, without even being aware of what I was doing, my body reacted instinctively. I lunged forward with a speed that surprised me.

In the blink of an eye, my new razor-sharp teeth sank into the flesh of the fish. I could feel its desperate struggle to break free, its fins frantically beating against my face. But it was useless.

With a fluid motion, I dragged my prey into the darkness of the cave. And then, in an act that would have horrified me in my previous life, I devoured it in a single gulp.

I felt its body slide down my throat, and a wave of indescribable pleasure washed over every fiber of my being.

It was an intoxicating sensation, almost addictive. I could feel the energy of the fish merging with mine, strengthening my muscles, sharpening my senses. My body began to change, to grow. It wasn't a drastic change, but enough to both amaze and terrify me.

As I was still digesting my first prey, a cold, metallic voice echoed in my mind, startling me: "You have gained one health point." I froze, my heart pounding so hard I feared it might attract larger predators.

The voice continued, indifferent to my confusion: "The main mission has been activated. Devour ten creatures that contain one health point to complete the task. There is no time limit and no restrictions on how you must do it."

My mind was in chaos. Was this the legendary system I had heard about from my coworkers? Had I become part of some twisted game run by a higher being?

I waited, holding my breath, for more instructions, more explanations. But the voice faded, leaving me alone with my questions and this alien body that was now mine.

Slowly, the reality of my situation began to settle in. In this new underwater world, life was reduced to a simple and brutal equation: consume or be consumed. Every bite was an opportunity to grow, to strengthen myself, to survive longer in this ruthless ecosystem.

The idea of evolving, of transforming into something beyond what I was now, was both incredible and terrifying.

But if that mysterious mission was real, it was the only thing I could cling to. I would have to follow its rules, strange as they might be.

I focused on my new being, exploring every sensation. My body felt denser, more powerful. I was no longer the fragile, disoriented creature I had been just moments ago.

A strange sense of security began to grow within me, but I knew it wasn't enough, remembering that beast.

The hunt had begun.

Time passed like underwater currents, each minute identical to the last. I had become a patient predator, lurking in the shadows of my coral refuge.

Every small fish that ventured too close became my prey, and with each bite, I felt my body growing stronger, larger. It was an addictive, almost intoxicating feeling.

Finally, after what seemed like weeks, I caught the tenth fish. The moment my jaws closed around it, I felt a surge of power course through my body.

During this time, my body had grown to two meters in length, a feat that would have seemed impossible to me in another life.

A strange sense of triumph, foreign in this serpentine body, flooded my being. I had done it. My first mission was complete.

But my satisfaction was short-lived. The mechanical voice I had been waiting for echoed in my mind, sending chills down my spine: "Task completed! Reward obtained: Alpha System."

Before I could process what that meant, a countdown began, each number hammering in my brain with increasing intensity. "10... 9... 8…"

Fear paralyzed me. What was about to happen? "5... 4... 3..." Suddenly, an indescribable pain exploded inside me. It was as if every cell in my body was being torn apart and rewritten. I tried to scream, but no sound came out of my serpentine mouth.

My body thrashed uncontrollably, collapsing onto the sandy seabed. A bright red light emanated from each of my scales, illuminating the water around me.

For a moment, I was certain I was going to die.

But then, as suddenly as it had begun, it all stopped.

The light faded, the pain disappeared, leaving me exhausted but alive. The voice returned: "Alpha System activated. Congratulations, you are now the Prime Predator."

Trembling, I dragged myself out of the sand. That's when I noticed it: my body had changed again.

Now my scales were thicker and shinier, and I could feel my muscles more defined and powerful.

Suddenly, a translucent screen appeared in front of me, floating in the water like a sci-fi hologram. The white letters that appeared took my breath away:

—-

Name: Morgan

World: One Piece

Race: Serpent

Health: 20

Size: 2 meters

Special Ability: None

—-

My mind froze. One Piece? The world of pirates, Devil Fruits, sea monsters, and… men capable of destroying islands with a single move? Panic gripped me once more, this time more intense than ever.

"NO, NO, NO!" I thought, desperate. "This can't be real! I'm just a damn snake!! How am I supposed to survive in a world where beings like Whitebeard or Kaido exist?!"

Images of anime battles, and colossal sea creatures flooded my mind. I remembered the stories about the Calm Belt, teeming with Sea Kings capable of devouring entire islands. And I… I was just a small, two-meter-long snake.

But then, something clicked in my mind. The system. The evolution. I had a system. I could evolve, become stronger. Maybe, with time and determination, I could become something more than just prey in this vast ocean.

I looked around with new eyes, marveling at the beauty and danger of the underwater world of One Piece.

Coral reefs in impossible colors stretched as far as the eye could see, fish of unimaginable shapes and sizes swam in brilliant schools, and in the distance, I could see the silhouettes of much larger and more terrifying creatures.

A new determination grew within me. I needed to know what point in the One Piece timeline I was in. Was this the era of Gold Roger? Or perhaps the time of Luffy and the Straw Hats? The information could be crucial in deciding which path to take.

But beyond that, I felt a burning curiosity to explore this vast underwater world that the series had barely shown. Places that even the most famous pirates hadn't seen, entirely alien ecosystems, maybe even ruins of lost civilizations. It was all there, waiting to be discovered.
