Chapitre 79: Not too Late

Sophia lay between Matthew and Ronan, feeling the gentle rise and fall of their breathing as they slept. Despite the comfort of their presence, she couldn't sleep.

Her mind was restless, replaying the events of the day and the unsettling transformation Ronan had undergone.

He had stopped being mean to her after they mated and he professed his love to her, but it was as if he went right back into his old self.

Sophia's gaze was fixed on Ronan's face, which was now relaxed and peaceful in sleep. The harshness and anger that had marked his behavior earlier were replaced by an expression of calm vulnerability.

She reached out hesitantly, brushing a strand of hair from Ronan's forehead, her fingers lightly grazing his skin. The warmth of his body was reassuring, but it did little to ease the worry gnawing at her heart.

Why did he act like that? she wondered. What could have caused such a drastic change in him?
