Captain Maskes sat across from Watari, scrutinizing his face. At first glance, Watari seemed like an ordinary man, nothing remarkable. Certainly not someone that William, a man with a keen eye for talent, would have taken an interest in. Maskes figured that if he engaged Watari in a simple game of dice, his true nature would reveal itself.

So far, Watari's gambling style appeared to be quite average. He was competent but not extraordinary. He fell for the occasional bluff, and it wasn't as though he was impossible to read. Still, something was off.

"Quadruple," Watari said, laying his hand on the table.

"I had a full house," Maskes replied.

"And I've got a straight. Guess this round goes to me," Watari said with a modest grin as the chips on the table continued to pile up in front of him.

Maskes prided himself on his luck and skill with dice—he had won countless matches over the years.
