Chapitre 43: The Value of Caution

The Oozora Market was packed with people everywhere, yet certain spots attracted more foot traffic and caught the eyes of potential customers better than others. Just like at a New Year's festival, the prime spots around a shrine drew more attention than the quieter outskirts.

The first stall Wataru and his companions set their eyes on was in one of those prime locations. Right next to the corner of a wide street just inside the entrance, the vendor had laid out a mat on the ground and displayed his wares. The shopkeeper, a man in his late thirties, appeared to be a beastman at first glance. He was muscular with a thick beard, but his small, pointed ears gave away his true nature. Judging by his short stature, he wasn't from a race of large beasts.

The man spoke in a loud, resonant voice, calling out to the crowd.
