As Catherine sat on the bed, she kept thinking about how unkind William and Vanessa, his girlfriend, were to her. In addition to being angry with William, she was also very upset with herself. She was extremely resentful, especially since Vanessa had made her feel uncomfortable in her own home.
The thought suddenly occurred to Catherine: "Why can't I do whatever I want since William is allowed to? He's the one who's free to have a girlfriend, he's free to leave the mansion whenever he pleases, he's free to hang around with people he chooses to hang out with, so why is it different in my case!'
Immediately, she heard the door open, and when she turned to see who it was, she saw it was William. He entered, gave her a fierce look, and left to the wardrobe to change his clothes.
Catherine mustered the bravery to approach William and express her feelings. He was in the closet taking off his clothes when she approached him. Looking over his shoulder, he sighed as he saw Catherine standing behind him. He asked her, "Can't you see I'm trying to undress here?" He was firm in his speech.
"William, I am not happy with the way you spoke to me today, William." Catherine's voice wavered.
William laughed softly. "Whatever. It is amusing that you believe I genuinely give a damn about that. Now give me some privacy." William said as he continued to take off his shirt forcing Catherine to look away from him, barely stopping herself from gazing at his undeniably beautiful body.
After a moment of hesitation, Catherine took a deep breath and said, "So you are allowed to have a girlfriend but I am not allowed to even go out?!" Catherine said. William fell into shock at her words. He didn't see that coming. Gradually, he turned to face her.
She cut her gaze from him as she clenched her fists and stood upright, right in front of the door.
"What did you say?" Slowly, William asked. He went up to Catherine, who was having trouble keeping her gaze, especially with him shirtless. Catherine could swear that she could feel her heart threatening to beat off her chest as he approached her without taking his eyes off her for even a moment.
Her thoughts were racing. Her tone of voice and the way William fell silent made her wonder what he would do to her. William cocked his head and narrowed his eyes at Catherine.
She was at least two meters away from him. In an attempt to avoid meeting his eyes, Catherine's eyes darted around. He used his hand to balance his weight over Catherine's head against the wall.
He looked at her like she was some kind of specimen. "What did you say now, Catherine?" He asked in a very composed manner.
"Since you are free to do as you please, why can't I do what I want to do? After all, this is a fake marriage." Catherine whispered almost to herself rather than to him.
After giving her a glance, William laughed. "So, your true goal is to damage my reputation. Catherine, that's just what you've been thinking about. What will people say if they catch you hanging out with a man who is not me? Go on. I must remind you once more, Catherine. Yes, this marriage may be phony, but you probably do not realize how much trouble you could cause if you dare to do anything that would destroy the foundation I have built over the years." William warned.
Catherine whispered, "I guess it is all about you then."
"Certainly is, Catherine. This marriage is a scam. I want to warn you not to even consider doing anything foolish. Do not try any stunts that you will later regret. Allow these words to continue to ring in your mind like a bell."
William did not want anyone to know that he was seeing someone other than his supposed wife Catherine. His parents were aware of his relationship with Vanessa, but they thought it would have ended after the wedding.
William would appear negatively in public if the paparazzi learned about his relationship and posted it on all the blogs. Catherine is no different. William made every effort to be extremely cautious in order to keep his relationship with Vanessa a secret. He did not want to risk that with Catherine.
When he was done talking, he glared at her for a moment before returning to attend to what he was doing before he was distracted by Catherine.
Catherine grew angry and clenched her fists even tighter, subconsciously digging her fingernails into her palms and hurting herself. She ignored William and stormed out of the closet.
She had no choice but to wait until the following morning to go see her parents.

The next day, Catherine and William had just arrived at the office. So absent-minded since all she could think about was how to leave the company to visit her parent's house with William finding out, Catherine did her best to wait on the clock to tick to the right time.
As usual, William had to pretend he was madly in love with Catherine so his employees would not get the wrong idea about their marriage.
Time went by and it was almost time for lunch, still, Catherine had not come up with a way to leave the office. She thought to come up with a lie to convince William so he would let her go and not get bothered about where she had gone.
She summoned the courage and made her way to William's office. Before she could make it to the door, she overheard William and Jorge's conversation.
"You've sent the documents to Micheal Mckellen right?"
"Yes sir, he is meant to return it immediately after he has signed it," Jorge responded sternly.
"Alright, very good. I will be the one to go get the document after he signed the signature. I'm using that as an excuse to see him so it wouldn't look like we just needed him for his signature. Call him now to send the message to him."
"Okay, sir." That idea sounds much smarter." Jorge responded.
Once Catherine heard all of this, she was struck with shock. She never expected any of this. It was already happening and very quickly. She had no other choice than to leave the company immediately even without passing any message to William or anybody else.
"Prepare me a car, I'll head over there right away." William continued but unfortunately, Catherine didn't hear this part of the conversation. She had already hurried out of her hiding place.
"Yes, Sir," Jorge responded.
Rushing to her office, she grabbed her bag and stormed out, promising herself that she would never let William's plans be a success. Her father was very close to accepting the deal, that's if he hadn't done it already.
Catherine was able to get a cab that dropped her off at her father's house. Immediately she got out of the car and the driver left, she looked up the see the beautiful mansion of her parents and she suddenly felt homesick. About to step in, but turned around only to see William's car approaching behind her.
She was never expecting William to be here. She almost stumbled backward. She needed to stop her father from signing the documents but at the same time, William was not supposed to know she had something to do with it all.
William stepped out of the car and approached Catherine, "What are you doing here?" He asked with his furrowed brows.
