Chapitre 67: Ch61.1; The Escape

The 3 Demonic Cultivators stood among the destruction that they had caused. There were cut up corpses all over the place, limbs lying around, and bloodstains all over the place. The fragrance of death filled the air, with some victims still fresh from their sword wounds and others reduced to ash. Bodies were holding on to ripped clothing, their faces frozen in agony.

With little thought, the chubby cultivator kicked a served head aside and looked at his friends. He murmured, putting down his sword, "Let's go."

"Which way should we head first?"

The first cultivator, head moving in the chubby cultivator direction. His face was hidden behind a mask that hid any sign of feeling, he said. "We'll split up.

We're going to cover separate grounds, each of us, and meet at the school.' We'll split the kids up into three groups when we get there, and we'll each take one. After that, everything depends on chance."

For a minute, the others remained mute. The fat cultivator then gave a snorting sound. "I'm going east. That queen's little physique isn't attractive to me." There was dislike in his tone.

The third cultivator gave a nod. "Then I'll take the north."

The first gave a nod of approval. "That leaves the west to me." Without another word, they pulled out their flying swords, each one glowing momentarily in the sunlight before they all shot toward the sky, each in the direction of their choice.

As they flew, the cultivators showed no hesitation. They killed anyone in their way—some hiding in houses, others fleeing in terror. Buildings crumbled as fires raged, the destruction spreading wherever they went.

---

Meanwhile, in the palace…

The sound served as an alert of danger as the sound of drums echoed through the palace. Everyone rushed themselves into action.

Whispers of panic run through the servants and guards.

The message sent by the drums' constant pounding was plain and predictable: demonic cultivators were on the attack.

Lan, who had been riding on the guard Rod in enjoyment, snapped back to reality. She quickly stood up from the guard's chest, her green hair falling messily around her. Sweat dripped from her face as she muttered, "Demonic cultivators are attacking!"

"Fuck," She quickly looked down and cursed as she put on her dress, hurriedly tying her yellow robe as a strange, transparent liquid dripped from between her legs.

The guard jumped to his feet in the same panic, hand trembling as he quickly put on his clothes. The mention of demonic cultivators made his already tired face get pale, and he immediately dressed himself out of fear.

---

Zhang Lian was lying on her bed in her personal chamber, deep in thoughts. The cat was resting next to her, and the room was silent with her light pink robe lying comfortably over her body.

She was taken aback by the drums' unexpected blast. She quickly sat up, throwing her legs over the side of the bed as her eyes grew wide with fear. She stood there looking scared and frustrated at the same time.

The cat heard the sound of the drum and saw Zhang Lian standing up rapidly. It stretched its red wings and soon took to the air, following her every move.

Mei, the maid who had been sitting nearby in silence, got up. "Your Highness, the Demonic Cultivators are attacking!" she cried out in fear.

"Fuck," Zhang Lian said. "How can they attack again? Didn't they destroy the city just a few years ago?"

"Nya, let's run fast," the cat said worriedly.

Mei's face was pale, her eyes filled with worry. "Your Highness, we need to leave immediately! Who knows when they'll reach us."

Zhang Lian nodded, already heading toward the door. "Let's go."

"But Your Highness, your dress..." Mei hesitated, looking at the light pink robe Zhang Lian was still wearing.

"Fuck the dress," Zhang Lian cursed. "We don't have time for that."

As they stepped out of the room, ten palace guards were already waiting in the corridor, their expressions hard and focused.

But when they saw the queen in her light pink robe, their eyes momentarily changed as her beauty diverted their attention.

Seeing this, Zhang Lian said hastily. "Move quickly!" The guards nodded and began to move as her voice called them back to attention

The captain of the guard, a tall man with a stern expression, stepped forward. "Your Highness, we'll escort you out of the city," he said, his tone was calm. He turned to four of the guards. "You four, go and bring the prince and princess."

Zhang Lian shook her head. "No, send them in different directions. At least one of us should survive."

The captain nodded firmly and issued the orders. "You heard the queen! Split up and get them out through different gates." The guards saluted and quickly rushed off to carry out their tasks.

The remaining guards formed a tight circle around the Queen, moving with coordination. Their movements were sharp, their eyes scanning, as they hurriedly moved the queen out of the palace.

The palace was in chaos. Servants ran in fear and anxiety, some grabbing what they could carry, others fleeing in sheer terror. A few hid in dark corners, hoping not to be found by the demonic cultivators. The sound of the drums filled the palace, the heavy rhythm driving the panic.

Outside, two powerful horses were pulling a sleek black carriage that was ready to go. The captain escorted Zhang Lian toward it, looking around for any sign of danger.

The other guards got on their horses, Zhang Lian hurriedly climbed into the carriage with maid Mei.

The carriage was now surrounded by guards, and the captain led the way, leading the horses out of sight of the palace at a fast pace.

In an attempt to escape the Demonic cultivators, the captain had selected a different path from the one from whence the initial attack signal had originated.

The servants scattered around the palace, some running out of the place and others hiding in any dark places they could find in the hopes of staying undetected.
