Chapter 28: Pokemon Odyssey Island

(After winning her third badge, Mew and her friends are now sailing on Lapras in the ocean blue.)

(looking for their next adventure.)

(Since it's a nice day, everyone is simply relaxing on the ocean, catching some rays or z's.)

(Just then, Eevee notices something and questions.)

Eevee: "Eev?" (Huh?)

(Eevee climbs on Lapras head to notice an island a short distance away.)

(Eevee turns to the others and calls out.)

Eevee: "Eevee Eevee?" (Hey everyone, wake up!)

(Hearing Eevee's cry, everyone either wakes up from their sleep or sits up from their relaxation.)

(Mew sits up and asks.)

Mew:"What is it, Eevee?"

(Eevee looks ahead and points her paw out.)

Eevee: "Eevee Eevee." (There's an island up ahead.)

(Mew turns to where Eevee is looking to see the island up ahead.)

(It seems to have forests, mountains, and it seems to have grass areas as well.)

Tracey: "Oh that's Odyssey Island."

(Tracey says.)

Tomo: "Odyssey Island?"

(Tomo says, confused.)

Misty: "What's that?"

(Misty asks, curiously.)

Tracey: "Odyssey Island is where Trainers can come and catch Pokemon. Many Pokemon lived around the island. There are also possibilities that you might find a rare and unusual Pokemon. A hundred years ago, the island became overpopulated, and food, water, and space were running low. One day, a group of trainers came to the island to help the Pokemon who wished to leave get to the main lands where there is more space. However, the island became overpopulated because many Pokemon end up with families or travel to live there. One day, they decided to make it a special island where trainers can catch different Pokemon, and it kind of became a popular attraction,"

(Tracey says.)

Misty: "Sounds like the Safari Zone back in Kanto."

(Misty says.)

Tomo: "Yeah. And we got to see so many Pokemon."

(Tomo says.)

Tracey: "Yeah. I even heard there are some ancient ruins on the island, and a very huge lake for the water Pokemon."

(Tracey says.)

(Mew then asks.)

Mew: "So guys, what do you say? Shall we explore the island and find ourselves some new friends."

Misty: "I don't mind, it sounds fun."

(Misty says.)

Tomo: "Yeah! Let's go!"

(Tomo says.)

Tracey: "Sure. It will be good to catch new Pokemon."

(Tracey says.)

(The Pokemon happily agrees.)

(Mew then turns to Lapras.)

Mew: "Alright Lapras, time to head to Odyssey Island!"

(Lapras squeals with excitement, and swims towards Odyssey Island to catch some new Pokemon and meet some new friends.)

(Sometimes later, Mew and her friends arrive on Odyssey Island.)

(Mew sighs with a smile.)

Mew: "This island is beautiful. It's a perfect place for Pokemon to live."

Misty: "Yeah. I can see why the Pokemon love it here."

(Misty says.)

(Tracey soon notices a building along with a large wooden gate close to it.)

Tracey: "There's the Odyssey Island's office. This is where we register to get into the Safari Zone of the Island,"

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "Great,"

(Mew says.)

(And the four friends and their Pokemon walk inside the building so they can gain access to the Safari Zone of the Island.)

(When they walk inside, they see an older man.)

(The older man with gray hair, a mustache, tan skin, and brown eyes.)

(He is wearing a green long sleeve shirt, a brown vest, brown pants and boots.)

(Mew and the others walk over and to see the man.)

Mew: "Hello sir. My friends and I would like to go into the Safari Zone."

(Mew says.)

Tomo: "Yeah. Can we?"

(Tomo asks, excited.)

older man: "Of course. Is this your first time here?"

(The older man asks.)

Mew: "Yeah. I'm Mew and these are my partners, Pikachu and Eevee."

(Mew says.)

Misty: "My name is Misty, and this is Togepi and Pichu."

(Misty says.)

Tomo: "I'm Tomo, Meloetta and Skwovet are my partners."

(Tomo says.)

(Then Tracey says.)

Tracey: "And my name is Tracey."

Barneby: "My aren't you a fine group. The name is Barneby, I'm the one in charge of the Safari Zone on Odyssey Island."

(The older man says.)

Mew: "It's nice to meet you,"

(Mew says.)

(Then Misty asks.)

Misty: "So what are the rules here?"

Barneby: "Well, each trainer is allowed to catch up to 8 Pokemon Each. We'll be supplying you with 8 Safari Balls. Fishing lines, lures, and berries are supplied for trainers. You can only use the Safari Balls when you're in the Safari Zone, so other Pokeballs aren't allowed."

(Barneby says.)

Everyone: "Okay,"

(The four replies.)

(Barneby then places four bags of Pokeballs, each of them has eight of them on the counter.)

(As well as some extra fishing poles, and lures, and a bag of berries.)

(He then brings out a ticket that has a safari ball and the island on it.)

Barneby: "And this is your pass to get into the Safari Zone."

Mew: "Thank you,"

(Mew says, and takes the card.)

(Just then. Barneby says.)

Barneby: "Before I forget, if you plan on heading to the ruins, it's best you be careful."

Misty: "How come?"

(Misty asks.)

Barneby: "I've been getting reports of some Pokemon chasing trainers out of the specific area of the ruin. Many suspect it must be a parent Pokemon who is protecting its young ones. It will be best for you to keep your distance if you decide to explore the ruins."

(Barneby says.)

Tracey: "We'll be careful,"

(Tracey says.)

Barneby: "Alright then, see you all later and have a good time,"

(Barneby says.)

Tomo: "We will,"

(Tomo happily says.)

(And so, Mew and her friends head off to the Safari Zone to catch some Pokemon and have some fun.)

(They leave the building and arrive at the gate.)

(Soon they see Officer Jenny at the gate.)

Mew: "Hi Officer Jenny,"

(Mew says.)

Officer Jenny: "Hello. Are you entering the Safari Zone?"

(Officer Jenny asks.)

Misty: "We are,"

(Misty says.)

(Then Mew shows Officer Jenny the ticket.)

Mew: "Here you go."

(Jenny takes the ticket to observe it.)

(Then uses a hole puncher to punch a hole on it.)

(Then gives it to Mew.)

Officer Jenny: "There you go. You're all ready."

Misty: "Thank you Officer Jenny,"

(Misty says.)

Officer Jenny: "And remember to only use your Safari Balls and be careful around the ruins."

(Officer Jenny says.)

Tracey: "I have to suspect it must be the wild Pokemon that Barneby told us."

(Tracey says.)

Officer Jenny: "That's right,"

(Officer Jenny says.)

Tracey: "Do you know what kind of Pokemon it is?"

(Tracey asks.)

Officer Jenny: "No. The Pokemon keeps itself hidden in the cave so we never see the Pokemon. And every time someone tries to enter the cave, it chases everyone out with its attacks,"

(Officer Jenny says.)

Mew: "Hmm, do you know what kind of attack it uses?"

(Mew asks.)

Officer Jenny: "It was using an Aura Sphere,"

(Officer Jenny says.)

Mew: "An Aura Sphere,"

(Mew replies.)

(She then begins to think as she says.)

Mew: "There are not that many Pokemon that can actually use Aura Sphere, at least Wild Pokemon."

(Then turns to the others.)

Mew: "Let's head to the Safari Zone and explore."

(Everyone nods their heads in reply and begins to enter the Safari Zone Park.)

(They walk around to see a large grassy field.)

(There are plenty of trees and wide open fields and such.)

(There's even hill tops, and a large.)

Tomo: "Wow. The place looks really nice."

(Tomo says.)

Tracey: "Yeah. And I suspect there will be a lot of Pokemon living here. I sure love to sketch this place and some Pokemon."

(Tracey says.)

(Then, Tracey notices a pair of Dewgongs, one normal and the other is a shiny one.)

(The two are happily snuggling their cheeks against each other as they are in the lake and relaxing in the cool water.)

Misty: "Aww, how sweet,"

(Misty says.)

(Tracey then brings out his sketchbook.)

Tracey: "I gotta sketch this."

(Tracey begins to sneak towards the Dewgongs in the lake.)

(Once he's close enough, Tracey begins to sketch the picture of the pair of Dewgong.)

(Mew and the others watch as Tracey sketches the two Pokemon in the water.)

(Suddenly, the three begin snickering as they cover their mouths.)

(Even the Pokemon are trying their best not to laugh.)

(Tracey turns his head with a confused look.)

Tracey: "You guys okay?"

Mew: "Um Tracey…"

(Mew says.)

(Then Misty says.)

Misty: "It looks like you got a sketch partner."

(Tracey becomes confused and looks to see a Pokemon is sitting next to him with a large leaf.)

(It's a bipedal, beagle-like Pokémon with white and brown fur.)

(It has a long tail with an end resembling a paintbrush.)

(It has a footprint on its back that is the same color as the tip of the tail, and a mark placed on its back.)

(It also has a round structure on its head with a point that resembles a beret.)

(It has floppy, brown ears and a brown collar on its neck.)

(The rings encircling its eyes are also brown, as are the eyelids.)

(Its arms have two brown bands, and its legs have only one.)

(Each of its limbs has three digits.)

(It seems to be using its tail to paint the Dewgongs on the large leaf.)

(Tracey yelps in surprise and falls on his rump, scaring the two Dewgong and dive into the water and tosses his sketch book in the air.)

(Luckily, the Pokemon catches the sketchbook and the pencil.)

(Then presents them to Tracey.)

Tracey: "Thank you,"

(Tracey says, and takes his belongings.)

Misty: "What Pokemon is that?"

(Misty asks.)

Mew: "It's a Smeargle,"

(Mew says, and takes out her Pokedex.)

(Then Dexter says.)

Dexter: "Smeargle, the Painter Pokemon. A Normal Type. It marks its territory by using its tail like a paintbrush. There are more than 5,000 different marks. The fluid of Smeargle's tail secretions changes in the intensity of its hue as the Pokémon's emotions change."

Tracey: "Wow. I have never seen a Smeargle before. They originated in the Johto Region."

(Tracey says.)

(Then Smeargle says.)

Smeargle: "Smeargle. Smeargle Smeargle, Smear Smear. Smeargle Smear Smeargle." (Hello. Sorry for scaring you, I was trying to paint and decided to do it next to you because you're sketching too. I wanted to do it next to you.)

Mew: "Smeargle said hello, and apologized for scaring you. He said that he was painting and wanted to do it next to you because ke noticed you sketching and wanted to do it next to you,"

(Mew translates.)

Tracey: "Oh,"

(Tracey replies.)

(Then turns to Smeargle.)

Tracey: "It's okay, you just caught me by surprise."

(Smeargle then holds out the leaf and Tracey sees the incomplete drawing of the two Dewgongs.)

(Tracey is impressed.)

Tracey: "That's actually pretty good."

(Then shows Smeargle his sketch.)

Tracey: "Here is my sketch."

(Smeargle looks at Tracey's sketch, and smiles.)

(He happily says.)

Smeargle: "Smeargle Smeargle. Smeargle Smear Smeargle?" ( Your drawing looks good. Are you an artist?)

(Mew translates.)

Mew: "Smeargle said that he likes your drawing, and asked if you're an artist."

(Then Tracey says to Smeargle.)

Tracey: "Well, I'm not an artist, I'm actually a Pokemon Watcher. I travel to sketch and observe Pokemon, even try to find undiscovered Pokemon."

(Smeargle gives Tracey a thumbs up with a smile.)

(Suddenly, he hears someone calling out.)

Stufful: "Stufful!" (Smeargle!)

(The group turns their heads to see another Pokemon walking over with a few large leaves.)

(It's a quadrupedal Pokémon resembling a bear cub.)

(Its body and head are mostly pink, while its legs are brown.)

(Each foot has a single pink paw pad on the bottom.)

(There is a white, semicircle marking around its face similar to a headband, and it has a white muzzle with a triangular, black nose.)

(Its white-tipped ears are situated on the sides of its head, and there is a small, white-tipped tuft of fur under each.)

(Around the center of its short, puffy tail is a dark pink ring marking.)

(Under the tail is a small, white flap resembling the tag on a stuffed toy.)

Misty: "Aww, it's so cute,"

(Misty happily says.)

Tracey: "It's a Stufful!."

(Tracey says, amazed.)

Mew: "That's right and this one is from the Alola Region."

(Mew says, and brings out her Pokedex.)

(Dexter says.)

Dexter: "Stufful, the Flailing Pokémon. A Normal and Fighting type. Its fluffy fur is a delight to pet, but carelessly reaching out to touch this Pokémon could result in painful retaliation. Despite its adorable appearance, when it gets angry and flails about, its arms and legs could knock a pro wrestler sprawling."

Misty: "Wow. Cute and tough,"

(Misty says.)

Tomo: "Kind of cool,"

(Tomo says.)

(Stufful then hands Smeargle the leaves.)

Stufful: "Stufful Stufful." (I brought you some more leaves.)

Smeargle: "Smeargle Smeargle," (Thank you, Stufful.)

(Smeargle says.)

Tracey: "Well, it appears that Smeargle and Stufful are friends."

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "Looks like it,"

(Mew says.)

(Just then, Stufful walks towards Tracey with curious eyes.)

(Before he knows it, Stufful hops on to Tracey's shoulder and adjusts itself for Stuff to snuggle his face with glee.)

(Tracey chuckles with a smile and says.)

Tracey: "Cute little guy."

Misty: "That's sweet. Stufful really likes you."

(Misty says.)

Mew: "Yeah. She really likes you,"

(Mew says.)

Tomo: "She?"

(Tomo says, curious.)

Tracey: "I think you're right, Mew. This Stufful's a girl."

(Tracey says.)

(Tracey then turns to Smeargle and Stufful and asks.)

Tracey: "Hey, would you both like me to catch you. I promise to take good care of you, and we can sketch together."

(Stufful is very happy and snuggles him more.)

(Smeargle thinks for a bit and nods his head in reply.)

Tracey: "Alright"

(Tracey replies and brings out the Safari Balls.)

(Then tap each of them.)

Tracey: "Pokeball go."

(Then they both materialized into the Pokeballs.)

(With a simple click, Tracey catches both Smeargle and Stufful.)

Tracey: "Alright, I caught both Smeargle and Stufful,"

(Tracey says.)

(Suddenly, Smeargle and Stufful get out of their Pokeballs on their own.)

(Stufful still sits on Tracey's shoulder and Smeargle is standing next to him.)

(Tracey chuckles with a smile.)

Tracey: "I guess you two want to stay out of your Pokeballs."

(Smeargle and Stufful nod their heads with a smile.)

Misty: "I think that's a yes."

(Misty says.)

Mew: "Alright guys, let's go explore Odyssey Island and find some more Pokemon friends."

(Mew says.)

(Mew and the others continue to explore around the Safari Zone of Odyssey Island to find and catch new Pokemon.)

(They find a large lake and fish for Pokemon.)

(Misty ends up fishing out and catching two Pokemon known as Basculin, but one has red stripes and the other has blue stripes.)

(Tomo aslo catches a Wooper and a Barboach.)

(while Mew ends up catching a shiny Feebas and a Slowpoke.)

(After exploring the lake, Mew and the others begin to explore one of the forest areas to see so many Pokemon.)

(especially bug type Pokemon.)

(Luckily, Misty isn't afraid of Bug Type Pokemon anymore.)

(Misty actually catches a Wimpod and a Wurmple.)

(Tracey catches a Mankey.)

(Mew ends up catching two Plant Cloak Burmy, a male and a female.)

(Tomo catches a Shinx and a Blitzle, and a Girafarig.)

(After exploring the forest, Mew and the others are now at a wide open area.)

(It doesn't have much grass and trees, but it's a beautiful wide open space.)

(Tomo catches a Rufflet and a Bidoof.)

(Mew catches a Jumpluff, an Emolga, and a Furret.)

(Misty catches a Budew, a Delibird, and an Eevee.)

(Tracey also catches an Eevee alone with a pair of Darumaka, and a Phantump.)

(After catching so many Pokemon, Mew and her friends arrive at the ancient ruins Barneby has told them about.)

(They look to see the ancient ruins.)

(As they walk around, they see old ancient buildings, and the walls have ancient writing on it.)

(It looks like an ancient town if anything.)

Tomo: "Wow. This place looks very cool,"

(Tomo says.)

Misty: "I have to agree. There are so many old buildings here."

(Misty says.)

(Then says.)

Misty: "Some of them even look like old houses, and there are a few wells."

Tracey: "My guess is that the ancient ruins used to be a civilization a long time ago,"

(Tracey says.)

(Then Mew says.)

Mew: "Remember guys, Barnaby and Officer Jenny did say that the ruins is where this mysterious Wild Pokemon is at."

Misty: "You're right. It's best we stay away from the cave they mention."

(Misty says.)

Tomo: "Wonder what kind of Pokemon it is."

(Tomo replies.)

Tracey: "All we know is that it can use Aura Sphere."

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "Still, I have to wonder what Pokemon it is. For all we know, this Pokemon could be hurt, or must have a family nearby."

(Mew says.)

Tracey: "Possibly,"

(Tracey says.)

(Suddenly, Tomo points ahead.)

Tomo: "You think that's the cave?"

(The group soon look ahead to see a large cave next to one of the old ruins.)

Misty: "So this is the cave where the Pokemon might be in,"

(Misty says.)

Mew: "Seems so. I wonder if the Pokemon is still inside."

(Mew says.)

(Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee slowly walk to the cave, much to the others' concern.)

Misty: "Mew, what are you doing?"

(Misty asks.)

Mew: "I'm going to see if that Pokemon is in the cave. Maybe we can help."

(Mew says.)

Tracey: "I don't know if it's a good idea. The Pokemon sounds pretty aggressive."

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "Wouldn't hurt to try,"

(Mew says.)

(Mew then turns to the cave and calmly calls out.)

Mew: "Hello!"

(Her voice echoes through the cave.)

(Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee look around the entrance of the cave.)

(Unknown to them, something opens its eyes and it doesn't look happy.)

(Seeing this, Mew squints her eyes, but opens her eyes and gasps in shock to see an Aura Sphere flying towards them.)

Mew: "Get down!"

(Mew calls out.)

(Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee rush out of the way.)

(as Misty and the others run out of the way as the Aura Sphere.)

(The move flies out of the way and hits the wall close by.)

Misty: "That was close!"

(Misty says, shocked.)

Tomo: "Guess the Pokemon is in that cave after all,"

(Tomo says.)

Tracey: "I think it's best we keep away from the cave."

(Tracey says.)

(Suddenly, Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee hear a thud coming from the cave.)

Mew: "Hold on guys, I think I heard something,"

(Mew whispers.)

(Mew gesture to the others to come forward.)

(Tracey and the others slowly walk towards the cave.)

(Tracey, Smeargle, and Stufful are with.)

(Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee on the left side of the cave.)

(while Misty, Togpei, Pichu, Tomo, Meloetta, and Skwovet are standing on the other side.)

(They all take a peek through the entryway of the cave and hear some strange noises.)

Misty: "What's that?"

(Misty asks.)

Mew: "I'm not sure. They sound like Pokemon sounds,"

(Mew says.)

Tomo: "I think you're right. They're saying that he's very weak and sick."

(Tomo says.)

Misty: "Do you think the Pokemon might be hurt?"

(Misty asks.)

Mew: "Maybe, and this sounds like there's more than one in the cave."

(Mew says.)

Tracey: "What do we do?"

(Tracey wonders.)

(Mew takes a calm breath and says.)

Mew: "I'll go in first. The rest of you stay clear until I say otherwise."

(The group is reluctant about letting Mew go into the cave first.)

(They then turn to Mew and nod their heads in reply.)

(Mew then nods her head and begins to enter the cave.)

(Pikachu and Eevee follow closely and slowly from behind for support.)

(Mew turns to her Pokemon and gently shushes them, and they nod their heads.)

(They continue to walk deep inside the cave, and soon notice something up ahead.)

(Mew then brings out the Silph Scope and puts it on, remembering that it can let her see in the dark.)

(She looks around and notices four Pokemon inside the cave.)

(One of them is lying on the ground and is breathing heavily.)

(Mew is shocked, but then decides to take a deep breath and approach the Pokemon.)

(Just then, the three Pokemon turn to see Mew and grow aggressive.)

(Mew quickly says.)

Mew: "Calm down everyone. Calm down. I'm only here to help."

(However, the three Pokemon don't seem to believe her.)

(Mew calmly says.)

Mew: "I'm only here to help. I… I noticed your friend is looking very exhausted and needs some help."

(Mew soon notices that the Pokemon who is lying on the ground is not looking good.)

(It's heavily breathing, and parts of its face are looking red.)

(She also notices a bad bruise on its right side.)

Mew: "Please, I don't think he's feeling so well. He really needs help. I can help him, but only if you let me and my friends help."

(Mew says.)

(One Pokemon turns to the group and asks.)

Pancham: "Pancham Pancham?" (What do you guys think?)

Mienfoo: "Mien Mien Mienfoo," (She seems like a nice person.)

(The other Pokemon says.)

(Then the third Pokemon says.)

Clobbopus: "Clobbo Clonno Clobbopus Clobbopus." (I don't know. Lucario feels touchy about humans.)

Mienfoo: "Mien Mien Mienfoo Mienfoo," (But she's right. Lucario has been hurt and is starting to run a fever for using too much of his Aura Sphere to keep them away from us.)

(The second Pokemon says.)

Pancham: "Pancham Pancham Pan Pancham." (Then we'll take our chance for the human's help.)

(The first Pokemon says.)

(The other two nod their heads.)

(The three Pokemon then walk to Mew and point to their ill friend.)

Mew: "Thank you. I'll try to help the best I can."

(Mew says.)

(Mew then slowly walks towards the Pokemon as it heavily breathes.)

(Pikachu and Eevee stay close to the other three Pokemon as Mew sits down on her knees and observes the Pokemon, using the Scope.)

(Mew touches the Pokemon's forehead and says in concern.)

Mew: "I thought so, he's running a fever."

(Then turns to see the red bruise on the side of the Pokemon's body.)

Mew: "And it also injured,"

(Mew says to herself.)

(Mew turns to her Pokemon.)

Mew: "Pikachu. Eevee. I can use your help."

(Pikachu and Eevee nod their heads and rush over.)

(With their help, Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee, move the Pokemon so it will be on its back and not on its stomach.)

(Mew then takes off her bag and places it on the ground.)

(Then she digs into it and pulls out some Healing potions, bandages, oran berries, and sitrus berries, and other kinds of medicine for Pokemon.)

(Mew then starts by checking on its injury on the side.)

(She sprays the healing potion, and the Pokemon grits its teeth in pain.)

Mew: "I'm sorry, but it does sting for a bit, but you'll be okay,"

(Mew says to the Pokemon.)

(Mew then applies a bandage on it.)

(Once she's done, Mew observes the Pokemon's body and sees some of its body, mainly some parts of its arms are red.)

Mew: "This Pokemon must have used Aura Sphere so much that its arms become sore."

(Mew says to herself.)

(She then spray the potions all over the arms, and wrap bandages around it.)

(Mew then brings out a bowl and a grinder.)

(Then begins to mash oran berries and sitrus berries in.)

(Once the berries are mashed.)

(Then she transfers the mashed berries to a small bowl.)

(She scoops a bit on a spoon and presents it to the sick Pokemon.)

Mew: "Here you go. It will help you feel better. Then I can give you a little medicine."

(The Pokemon slowly opens its eyes and looks to see Mew.)

(However, the Pokemon frowns and turns its head away.)

Mew: "Please eat it, it will make you feel better,"

(Mew says.)

(Just then, the first Pokemon walks to its friend and says.)

Pancham: "Pancham Pancham Pancham. (Don't worry, you can trust her. We gave her a chance and she's been taking care of you.)

(The Pokemon turns to Pancham and gives it a stern stare.)

(However, the three smaller Pokemon stand beside it and give it calm smiles as they nod.)

(Informing him that the girl can be trusted.)

(The Pokemon turns its head to Mew and nods.)

(Mew gives it a gentle smile and presents it with the mashed berries.)

Mew: "Now then, here you go."

(The Pokemon then begins to eat the mashed fruit.)

(Mew gives it a few spoonfuls until it's satisfied.)

Mew: "There you go. I did all I can, but if you want, I can take you to the Pokemon Center to have you checked."

(Mew says.)

(Then takes out the Safari ball.)

Mew: "I can carry you in the Pokeball until you get there."

(Then the Pokemon frowns again.)

Mew: "It's okay. The Pokemon Center can help you feel better, and if you want, my friends and I can do what we can to keep you and your friends safe."

(Mew says.)

(The Pokemon firmly stares at Mew and decides to agree with a nod.)

Mew: "Okay then. I promise to let you out as soon as we get to the Pokemon Center."

(Mew says.)

(She then gently taps the Pokeball with the Safari ball and it goes inside.)

(With a click, the Pokemon has been caught.)

(Mew stands and turns to its friends.)

Mew: "Come on, let's get your friend to the Pokemon Center."

(With that, Mew, Pikachu, Eevee, and the three other Pokemon hurry to the exit of the cave.)

(Meanwhile, Misty and the boys are growing concerned.)

Misty: "Do you think she's okay?"

(Misty asks.)

Tomo: "I know Mew's fine. We just need to wait."

(Tomo says.)

(Then Tomo notices and points to the cave.)

Tomo: "Look!"

(The group turns to see Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee exit the cave with three more.)

(Now that they're out, it's easier to see the three Pokemon's appearance.)

(The first Pokemon is a bipedal, mammalian Pokémon that resembles a young panda.)

(Its head and short, puffy tail are white. It has a triangular black nose, rounded black ears, black circles around its eyes, and tufts of fur on top of its head and on each cheek.)

(Its upper body and hind feet are black, while the lower body is a dark gray.)

(Where the two colors meet the dark gray forms a three-pointed pattern on its chest.)

(There are three digits on each paw and small, dark brown circular pads on the soles of its black hind paws.)

(It also carries a small, green leaf in its mouth.)

(The second is a yellow, bipedal, mustelid-like Pokémon, with round ears, red eyes, and a pink nose with a whisker on each side.)

(Its red arms look similar to flared sleeves, and the paws are yellow.)

(Mienfoo's chest has a small red band, and its pelt piles around its thighs resembling a tunic or robe.)

(Its legs are red, and its yellow tail is also tipped red.)

(The third one is a small, off-white cephalopod Pokémon with small, blue eyes with horizontal slit-shaped pupils, and an orange mask pattern around them.)

(It has a rather large head with four orange spots on its forehead, and small, orange ears or siphon ports on each side.)

(It has several small tentacles that it uses to get around, and two large tentacles that act as arms.)

(Each of these large tentacles has an orange suction cup on the underside and large, indigo bumps on the end, with an orange suction cup that resembles boxing gloves.)

(Its dot-like mouth is located underneath its tentacles.)

Misty: "Mew, you're okay,"

(Misty says relieved.)

Tomo: "But who are these three?"

(Tomo asks.)

Mew: "There's no time to explain. Their friend is badly hurt and sick."

(Mew says.)

(The group gasps in shock.)

Tracey: "Then let's get to the Pokemon Center right away."

(Tracey says.)

(Tomo and Misty nod their heads.)

(Sometime later, Mew and the others arrive at the Pokemon Center just outside of the Safari Zone.)

(Thanks to Officer Jenny Barneby, they're able to get the four Pokemon out of the park without any problems.)

(In the emergency room, Nurse Joy and Chansey tend to the Pokemon.)

(The Pokemon looks a lot like Tomo's little Riolu.)

(A bipedal, canine-like Pokémon with predominantly blue and black fur.)

(It possesses a short, round spike on the back of each forepaw, in addition to a third on its chest.)

(It has red eyes, a long snout, and ears.)

(When its mouth is open, two pairs of pointed teeth, one in the upper jaw and one in the lower, can be seen.)

(It possesses cream-colored fur on its torso and blue fur on its thighs that resemble shorts.)

(It has a medium-length tail of the same blue color as well.)

(It stands on its toes rather than on its entire foot.)

(It has developed four black appendages that hang down from its head.)

(The three young Pokemon watch their friend with deep concern as Mew and her friends watch.)

Tracey: "Those three must be very worried about him,"

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "I wonder what Pokemon they are,"

(Mew says.)

Tomo: "Well, one is a Mienfoo. Remember, Gary has one."

(Tomo says.)

Mew: "The other two are a Pancham and a Clobbopus,"

(Mew says.)

Tracey: "And the last one is a Lucario."

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "Let's see,"

(Mew says, and brings out her Pokedex.)

(Dexter says about Pancham.)

Dexter: "Pancham, Playful Pokémon. A Fighting Type. It does its level best to glare and pull a scary face, but it can't help grinning if anyone pats its head."

(Misty giggles.)

Misty: "Sounds like a little prankster."

(Then Mew has the Pokedex pointed to the second Pokemon.)

(Dexter says.)

Dexter: "Mienfoo, the Martial Arts Pokemon. A Fighting Type. Though small, Mienfoo's temperament is fierce. Any creature that approaches Mienfoo carelessly will be met with a flurry of attacks."

(Then turns to the third Pokemon.)

Dexter: "Clobbopus the Tantrum Pokemon. A Fighting Type. It's very curious, but its means of investigating things is to try to punch them with its tentacles. The search for food is what brings it onto land."

(Then has Dexter points to the last Pokemon.)

Dexter: "Lucario, the Aura Pokemon, and the evolved form of Riolu. A Fighting and Steel Type. It can tell what people are thinking. Only Trainers who have justice in their hearts can earn this Pokémon's trust."

Misty: "I wonder what could have happened to that Lucario?"

(Misty replies.)

Mew: "I'm not sure,"

(Mew answers, and looks at the treatment Nurse Joy and Chansey perform on Lucario.)

(Sometime later, Mew and the others are in the medical room as Lucario is lying on the bed after the treatment.)

Mew: "How's Lucario doing?"

(Mew asks.)

Nurse Joy: "Lucario is starting to heal properly. He'll just need to rest for a little while until he heals."

(Nurse Joy says.)

Nurse Joy: "It seems that Lucario got this way from exhaustion. Probably from using its Aura Sphere so much and suppressing its pain."

Tomo: "Poor Lucario,"

(Tomo replies.)

Nurse Joy: "Do not worry, Lucario just need a few days to rest and it's be all better."

(Nurse Joy says.)

Mew: "Thank you Nurse Joy,"

(Mew says.)

(Nurse Joy then says.)

Nurse Joy: "I'll return later to check how you're doing."

Mew: "Okay,"

(Mew says.)

(Nurse Joy then heads out of the room.)

(Pancham, Mienfoo, and Clobbopus walk to their friend's house to see their friend.)

(Lucario turns to see the younger Pokemon and gently reaches its paw out to them.)

(Mew and the others gently walk towards Lucario and the younger Pokemon.)

Mew: "How are you doing Lucario?"

(Mew asks.)

(Lucario gives the group a calm stare.)

(Despite the frown, it's not as serious as before.)

Mew: "It's okay, if you have trouble at first. I can imagine you must have been hurt by humans before. I suspect that's the reason why you chase away any humans who get close to the cave,"

(Mew replies.)

(Lucario looks at Mew with a confused look, but calmly nods his head.)

Mew: "I thought so. I met a few Pokemon who had difficulties trusting humans, but they learned that not all humans are like that. I'm sure we can help you if you uh, explain to us your situation. And maybe there's a way we can help you,"

(Mew says.)

(Lucario thinks for a minute and replies what everyone hasn't expected.)

Lucario: "... Okay…."

(This catches Mew and her friends by surprise.)

(Then Lucario says without moving his mouth.)

Lucario: "And thank you for helping me…"

Misty: "Did Lucario just talk?"

(Misty asks, shocked.)

Tracey: "It's telepathy,"

(Tracey says, surprised.)

Tomo: "Sounds cool,"

(Tomo says, amazed.)

Mew: "So how are you feeling?"

(Mew asks.)

Lucario: "A… little better…"

(Lucario answers.)

Mew: "If you don't mind us asking Lucario, what happened?"

(Mew asks.)

(Lucario lets out a sigh and says.)

Lucario: "It's difficult to explain, but I was captured by a group of humans. They used electricity like nets and Pokemon to capture me and many other Pokemon in the forest I lived in. All I know is that those humans used Pokemon and ruthless weapons to attack us and trapped us in those round capsules. I was trapped there for a long time. Then Pancham, and the others found me and freed me from the Pokeball a week ago. They've been helping me since then. I've been… reluctant about getting near humans after what happened…"

Misty: "That makes sense,"

(Misty says.)

Mew: "Don't worry, you're safe with us now,"

(Mew says.)

Lucario: "Thank you. I do apologize for scaring you and try to chase everyone away."

(Lucario says.)

Misty: "It's okay. We understand. You're just uneasy for humans getting close to you,"

(Misty says.)

Tracey: "Any Pokemon will feel that way if they're in your position."

(Tracey says.)

(Just then, Pancham climbs on Misty's shoulder and makes Misty giggle.)

(Clobbopus stands next to Tomo and Mienfoo is close with Tracey.)

Misty: "What's up?"

(Misty asks.)

(Lucario calmly smiles and says.)

Lucario: "I think they like to come with you three."

Tomo: "Really?"

(Tomo asks.)

(The three nod their heads.)

(Then Mew turns to Lucario.)

Mew: "Lucario, I know that I caught you with the Safari ball just to bring you to the Pokemon Center, but if you want, would you like to come with me and my friends?"

(Lucario becomes confused and shows skepticism on his face.)

Mew: "It's up to you if you want to. If you want to come with us, we can help you get better acquainted with humans, and we can take care of you. If not, then we can do what we can to help you get better and you'll be safe at the Safari Zone."

(Mew says.)

(Lucario thinks for a bit. )

(He then looks at Mew and looks towards her eyes.)

(From the looks in Mew's eyes, he can tell what kind of human this girl is.)

(Lucario calmly says.)

Lucario: "I'll accompany you and your friends. I can tell that you have strong justice in your heart, especially after helping tend to my wounds and bringing me to this 'Pokemon Center' for more medical treatment."

(Then turns to the younger Pokemon.)

Lucario: "And I can see these three have also taken a liking to your friends."

(Mew smiles and says.)

Mew: "That's good to hear. I promise to take good care of you."

(A few days later, Lucario is back to perfect health and still decides to go with Mew and her friends.)

(They soon see Barneby and Officer Jenny before leaving the island.)

Barneby: "Thank you for helping us with our problem,"

(Barneby says.)

Officer Jenny: "And thank you for helping Lucario, and glad to see it in perfect health,"

(Officer Jenny says.)

Mew: "You're welcome,"

(Mew says.)

Barneby: "We hope you'll come by someday,"

(Barneby says.)

Tracey: "Maybe we will,"

(Tracey says.)

(Sometime later, Mew and her friends are riding on Lapras as they leave Odyssey Island as they wave goodbye to Officer Jenny, Barneby, and Nurse Joy.)

(Now Mew and her friends have new Pokemon friends, and are able to help another Pokemon in need.)
