Chapter 26: The Mystery Menace

(On a sunny day.)

(Mew and her friends are walking along the road to get to Trovita for the Orange League Gym Battle.)

(Tomo sighs.)

Tomo: "Phew, we've been walking for a while."

Mew: "I know, but I'm sure we'll reach our destination soon."

(Mew says.)

(Suddenly, Tracey calls out.)

Tracey: "Hey!"

Misty: "What , Tracey?"

(Misty asks.)

(Tracey turns to the others and calls out.)

Tracey: "Come over here and take a look!"

(Mew, Misty, Tomo, and the Pokemon hurry over to catch up with Tracey.)

(They look over to see a large city.)

(This is their destination, the city of Trovitaopolis.)

(Unknown to Mew and her friends, Team Rocket peeks out to see the city of Trovitaopolis, mainly on Mew and her friends.)

(Jessie chuckles and says.)

Jessie: "Just look at them, admiring the view."

James: "They have no idea they're heading right for our high-tech hole."

(James says and chuckles.)

Meowth: "We've finally come up with a plan for the perfect pit!"

(Meowth says.)

(Then explains the plan.)

Meowth: "First we dug the hole and planted the dynamite right underneath where Pikachu and Eevee are. All we do is push the plunger, the ground collapses, and we get Pikachu and Eevee trapped! I think I can say without fear of contradiction that we are completely and totally prepared."

Jessie: "Prepared?"

(Jessie replies.)

(Then James replies.)

James: "Prepared?"

(And with that, Jessie laughs and begins the motto.)

Jessie: Prepare for trouble!

James: Oh! I say, make it double!

(Then Meowth pushes them into the ground.)

Jessie: "What's the idea?!"

(Jessie asks.)

James: "Why'd you stop us?!"

(James adds.)

Meowth: "What do you wanna give those little brats fair warning for? Let's make this a sneak attack!"

(Meowth says.)

James: "Well, you didn't have to be so rough!"

(James says.)

(He then picks up the detonator.)

James: "Here goes nothing!"

(and starts the dynamite.)

(Jessie and Meowth cover their ears for the blast, but nothing happens.)

(Meowth becomes confused.)

Meowth: "Nothing is right! Where's the explosion?"

(Just then, the ground suddenly gives way under them.)

(and ends up falling down into the hole miles down.)

(It concludes that they've been standing in their own trap and falling into it.)

(They all scream as they fall deep underground.)

(Meanwhile, Misty and Mew stop to hear the screaming.)

Tomo: "What is it, Misty? Mew?"

(Tomo asks.)

Misty: "I thought I just heard somebody screaming."

(Misty says.)

Tomo: "Really?"

(Tomo asks.)

Tracey: "Why would anybody be screaming?"

(Tracey questions.)

Mew: "I'm not sure, but…. It almost sounds like Team Rocket."

(Mew says.)

(Suddenly, the ground starts cracking underneath their feed.)

(Mew quickly notices.)

Mew: "Look out!"

(The ground then gives way and the group falls deep into the hole.)

(After falling into the hole, Pikachu, Eevee, and the others try to wake up their human trainers.)

(Mew is the first to wake up.)

Mew: "Hi, Pikachu. You too, Eevee."

(Pichu and Togepi try to wake up Misty, and soon wakes up.)

(Misty softly smiles and asks.)

Misty: "Are you, okay?"

(Pichu and Togepi express their smiles to let Misty know that they're okay and glad that she's okay.)

(Tomo wakes up from Meloetta and Skwovet and smiles at them.)

(He asks.)

Tomo: "Are you both good?"

(Meloetta and Skwovet nod their heads.)

(Tracey is stuck in the dirt, and muffles.)

Tracey: "Help! Get me out of here!"

Tomo: "Tracey!"

(Tomo panics.)

(Then Mew says.)

Mew: "Hang on, Tracey!"

(The others then grab Tracey by his legs and back and begin to pull him out.)

(Soon, they're able to pull him out.)

Misty: "Are you okay, Tracey?"

(Misty asks.)

Tracey: "I'm fine. I was really stuck in there. Thanks a lot,"

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "No problem, but now we're stuck down here."

(Mew says.)

(Suddenly, Misty notices something.)

Misty: "What's over there?"

(Tracey looks as he says.)

Tracey: "Looks like a tunnel."

Tomo: "Let's take a look,"

(Tomo says.)

Mew: "Good idea, but stay close everyone."

(Mew says.)

(The Pokemon agree to the idea.)

(The group starts walking through the tunnel and soon sees a light on the other side.)

(They approach where the light is coming from and find themselves in a different tunnel full of water.)

Mew: "What is this place?"

(Mew asks.)

Misty: "I guess this must be the sewer."

(Misty says.)

Tracey: "Well, we're in lucky then. All we have to do now is find a manhole cover and climb out of here!"

(Tracey says.)

(Misty likes the idea.)

Misty: "Yeah, that's right!"

Tomo: "Then we can get out!"

(Tomo says.)

Mew: "Come on, let's look for one!"

(Mew says.)

(The group then walks down the sewer system to find a manhole to get out of the sewer.)

(Suddenly, the group hears a bell ringing.)

(Mew quickly notices it.)

Mew: "Did you guys just hear a little bell ringing?"

Tracey: "Not me,"

(Tracey answers.)

Tomo: "I didn't hear one,"

(Tomo says.)

Misty: "Maybe your ears are still ringing from that fall,"

(Misty suggests.)

Mew: "Maybe, but…"

(Mew says.)

(Suddenly, a shadow runs through a tunnel Mew and the other past, and the ringing sound appears again.)

Mew: "There it is again! Don't tell me you guys didn't hear it this time."

(Mew says.)

Tracey: "It's just the water dripping, guys."

(Tracey says.)

(Unknown to Mew, A Vine Whip comes out of the water and taps on Mew's shoulder.)

(Mew swats it away.)

(Then the Vine Whip taps on her shoulder again.)

(Mew feels tapping on her shoulder and turns her head to see nothing there.)

(The others turn around to notice Mew has stopped and has her head looking back.)

Misty: "What's wrong, Mew?"

(Misty asks.)

Mew: "I could have sworn something tapped on my shoulder."

(Mew says.)

(Just then, another vine appears and the group sees it.)

(Misty panics.)

Misty: "Quick, Mew! Look out! There's a giant monster right behind you!"

(Mew quickly turns around to see what Misty's talking about.)

(Misty panics.)

Misty: "Mew, do something!"

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Eevee, use Swift!"

(Eevee then performs Swift Attack, but the vine dives into the water.)

(Mew then brings out her Pokeball and calls out.)

Mew: "I choose you, Bulbasaur!"

(With that, Bulbasaur comes out of its pokeball.)

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Bulbasaur, Razor Leaf attack!"

(Bulbasaur performs Razor Leaf, but the creature hits the leaves away.)

(Then it grabs Bulbasaur and begins to pull him to the water.)

Mew: "Bulbasaur!"

(Mew calls out.)

(Tomo quickly grabs Bulbasaur.)

Tomo: "I got him!"

(Just then, another vine grabs Tomo and pulls him in.)

(Mew cries out.)

Mew: "Bulbasaur! Tomo!"

Meloetta: "Loett!" (Tomo!)

(Meloetta cries out.)

(Then the Vine Whip pulls them both into the water.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Bulbasaur! Tomo! Guys! Guys!"

(Meloetta and Skwovet try to go into the water to save Tomo, but misty grab hold of them both.)

(Mew tries to do the same, but Tracey grabs her too.)

Tracey: "You can't, Mew! That thing will just drag you both down, too!"

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "But we can't leave Bulbasaur and Tomo! We gotta go after them!"

(Mew says.)

(Meloetta and Skwovet struggle to break free, but Misty is keeping them in her arms.)

Misty: "I know you're upset, but we can't find them unless we figure out what that thing is first."

(Misty says.)

(Then looks in the water.)

Misty: "What is that thing?"

Mew: "I don't know, but it's using Vine Whip so it has to be a kind of Pokemon."

(Mew says.)

(Suddenly, a manhole is lifted and the group looks up to see Officer Jenny.)

(Officer Jenny calls you.)

Officer Jenny: "Do I hear somebody down there?!"

Tracey: "It's Officer Jenny!"

(Tracey says.)

(Misty calls out.)

Misty: "Officer Jenny, can you please help us get out of here?!"

Officer Jenny: "That sewer is very dangerous! I'll lower a rope down so you can climb up!"

(Officer Jenny says.)

Tracey: "Thank goodness!"

(Tracey says.)

(Then Officer Jenny lowers the rope to them.)

Mew: "But what about Tomo and Bulbasaur?"

(Mew asks, worried.)

Tracey: "There's not much we can do. We'll talk to Officer Jenny if she knows what's going on. Then we can have a better chance of finding Tomo and Bulbasaur."

(Tracey says.)

(Mew sadly sighs and says.)

Mew: "Okay. Let's go.

(And with that, Mew and the others begin to take the rope and climb out of the sewers.)

Misty: "Don't worry Mew, we'll find a way to find Bulbasaur and Tomo. I'm sure we'll come up with a plan."

(Misty says.)

(However, later on, the group find themselves thrown into jail.)

(Mew crosses her arms with a displeased look.)

Mew: "I'm so not liking this."

(Then Mew calls out as she bangs on the door.)

Mew: "Hey! We didn't do anything wrong! I gotta help Tomo and my Bulbasaur! Let us out of here, now! This is unfair!"

(Meloetta calls out.)

Meloetta: "Melo! Meloette Melo Meloett Meloetta!" (I agree! It's against the law to put Pokemon in prison!)

(and bangs on the door as well.)

Skwovet: "Skwovet!" (Yeah!)

(Skwovet cries out.)

Misty: "I'd like to know that, myself. I still don't understand why they'd take us to jail for being in that sewer if it was an accident."

(Misty says.)

Tracey: "Yeah. There sure is something funny about it."

(Tracey says.)

(Just then, Officer Jenny opens the door to the cell, causing Mew and the others to move out of the way.)

(Then Officer Jenny says.)

Officer Jenny: "You're all free to go now."

Tracey: "That's a relief,"

(Tracey says.)

(Then Mew asks.)

Mew: "What took so long?"

Officer Jenny: "We've had some strange things happening,"

(Jenny explains.)

(Just then, a man comes walking in.)

(He has dark brown hair, mustache, and wears an orange suit, white dress shirt, and a yellow bowtie.)

(The man says.)

???: "I hope you're not releasing these people, Officer."

Officer Jenny: "What a pleasant surprise, Mister Mayor,"

(Officer Jenny salutes, but she doesn't seem pleased.)

(Misty and Tracey say, in surprise.)

Misty and Tracey: "Mister Mayor?"

Officer Jenny: "Sir, they told me that they all only arrived in town today and they're on their way to the Pokémon gym on Trovita Island and their story checks out,"

(Officer Jenny explains.)

The mayor: "I can't have this thing leaking out yet. Better keep them locked up until next week."

(The mayor says.)

Officer Jenny: "I can't charge them if they're not charged with the crime, Mister Mayor,"

(Officer Jenny says.)

The mayor: "Well, if that's the law. But I forbid any of you to say anything about that creature!"

(The mayor says.)

Tracey: "You can't do that! Why can't we say anything about it if it's the truth?"

(Tracey questions.)

Misty: "Yeah. especially since one of our Pokemon and a member of our group is down there."

(Misty adds.)

Mew: "All I care about is getting Tomo and my Bulbasaur back. They must be so scared by now."

(Mew says.)

(Suddenly, the mayor lost his temper.)

the mayor: "Say another word and I'll have you all arrested for endangering public safety!"

Misty: "What do you mean, public safety?!"

(Misty questions.)

(Then Officer Jenny explains.)

Officer Jenny: "That creature, you're not the only ones who saw it."

(But the Mayor tries to stop her.)

the mayor: "Officer, don't."

Officer Jenny: "Mr. Mayor, we can't keep this a secret forever."

(Officer Jenny advises.)

The Mayor: "Can't we at least try?"

(The Mayor questions.)

(Mew then says.)

Mew: "I like to know more about this creature you're referring to."

(Officer Jenny nods her head and says.)

Officer Jenny: "We've recently had a number of people who've reported encounters with a mysterious creature reaching out of the sewer."

Tracey: "The same thing that we saw?"

(Tracey asks.)

Officer Jenny: "Yes,"

(Officer Jenny answers.)

(Then explains.)

Officer Jenny: "So far, we've only had a few reports of stolen food. No serious injuries were reported. But the Mayor says people will panic if they hear about the creature, because we'll never be able to capture it."

Mew: "Why not?"

(Mew asks.)

Officer Jenny: "There are almost 500 miles of sewer under the city, and more than 5,000 manholes."

(Officer Jenny says.)

The mayor: "That's why we have to take drastic and immediate action to ensure the safety of everyone in this city. There's an election next week and if word gets out that I'm letting a monster run amok right beneath people's feet, I'll be ruined!"

(The mayor says.)

Misty: "It just doesn't seem right to be mad at it if all it wants to do is eat."

(Misty replies.)

Mew: "Still, I don't think it's a monster. If anything I think it's a Pokemon."

(Mew says.)

Officer Jenny: "How can you tell?"

(Officer Jenny asks.)

Mew: "I know a Vine Whip when I see one. It has to be a Pokemon. I suspect a Grass Type."

(Mew says.)

(Suddenly, the group hears a knock on the door.)

The mayor: "Come in,"

(The mayor says.)

(The door opens and Nurse Joy walks in.)

Nurse Joy: "Mr. Mayor! I've heard what you intend to do!"

The mayor: "That's my business."

(The mayor says.)

Tracey: "It's Nurse Joy,"

(Tracey replies.)

(Nurse Joy walks to the mayor and says.)

Nurse Joy: "You can't go through with that plan of yours, Mayor!"

The Mayor: "Go run your Pokémon Center and I'll run the city."

(The Mayor says, brushing her off.)

Mew: "What kind of plan? What are you talking about, Nurse Joy?"

(Mew asks.)

Nurse Joy: "Instead of trying to capture the creature alive so we can study it and learn where it may have come from, the Mayor wants to send a SWAT team to destroy it!"

(Nurse Joy explains.)

(This causes the group to become shocked and angry.)

Misty: "That's cruel!"

(Misty angrily says.)

Mew: "It's not fair!"

(Mew angrily says.)

Tracey: "That's right! And like Mew said, it's a Pokemon. And what if it's a new species of Pokemon?!"

(Tracey adds.)

The mayor: "Any talk of any such plan is pure speculation! There's no proof."

(The mayor says.)

Officer Jenny: "Mr. Mayor, if there is such a plan, it's illegal. The police don't know anything about it."

(Officer Jenny says.)

(The mayor loses his temper again.)

The mayor: "Enough! I am the mayor and I am the one who's responsible for this city! And I will do what I see fit!"

(This has made Mew and her friends angry, especially Mew, Pikachu, Eevee, Meloetta and Skwovet.)

(Later on Mew and the others are at the Pokemon Center.)

(and explain to Professor Oak on what has happened and what they heard.)

Professor Oak: "Tracey's right. This mysterious creature could very well be a new species of Pokémon, or it could be a Pokémon that's undergone some kind of strange mutation."

(Professor Oak says.)

Mew: "Professor Oak, what should we do? My Bulbasaur and Tomo are still down in the sewer with the creature."

(Mew asks.)

Professor Oak: "There's got to be some way to prevent the mayor from exterminating that creature, especially when a child is involved."

(Professor Oak says.)

(But Nurse Joy says.)

Nurse Joy: "I don't think so. The only thing the mayor cares about is getting re-elected, and he's not going to let anything stand in his way."

(Later on, Mew and the others walk through the streets of Trovitopolis.)

(and spit a lot of posters for the mayor's re-election campaign.)

Misty: "Nurse Joy was right. Look at all these campaign posters."

(Misty says.)

(Then Tracey notices a statue.)

Tracey: "Look! He even built a statue of himself."

(Mew and the others approach the statue to notice a sign on the statue.)

(it has a blue sideway diamond with something that makes it look like of like a 'M'.)

Misty: "Hey. I wonder what this is. It was on all the posters, too."

(Misty replies.)

Tracey: "Must be the mayor's trademark, or something."

(Tracey says.)

(Mew then says.)

Mew: "Come on, guys! We can't worry about the mayor now! We gotta find both Tomo and Bulbasaur, and find the creature before the mayor does!"

Mew: "Right!"

(Mew says.)

(The group then runs off.)

(Meanwhile, the mayor and the SWAT team are ready to execute the mayor's plan and are at the manhole.)

(The mayor says to the SWAT Team.)

The mayor: "Alright. It's time to begin the operation. As you know, the safety of our citizens and my future as your leader are in your hands. Are you ready?"

The SWAT Team: "Yes sir!"

(The SWAT Team answers.)

The Mayor: "Good! Go get that thing!"

(The Mayor says.)

(Mew and the others are hiding behind the wall and have heard everything.)

Misty: "How are we gonna get in with them covering the entrance?"

(Misty asks.)

Tracey: "There'll be guards everywhere, now."

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "We gotta find some way to get into that sewer before they do. Cause if we don't, it'll be the end of that creature. And Tomo and Bulbasaur."

(Mew says.)

(Sometime later, Nurse Joy led Mew and the others to another entrance into the sewers.)

Nurse Joy: "Maybe you can get in through here and find your Bulbasaur, and your friend."

(Nurse Joy says.)

Tracey: "Thanks, Nurse Joy. We'll try,"

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "Okay!"

(Mew says.)

(Mew then hops up and climbs on to the sewer with no trouble at all.)

(Meanwhile, Team Rocket is trapped in the sewers.)

(Jessie says.)

Jessie: "We've been wandering around down here all day and we still haven't found a way out."

Meowth: "Forget about finding a way out, I just want to find something to eat."

(Meowth says.)

James: "Well, there's nothing to eat down in this place, Meowth."

(James says.)

(Suddenly, Meowth hears a bell, and asks.)

Meowth: "Hey. Did you hear that?"

(Just then, the creature's vine reaches Meowth and rubs under his chin.)

(Meowth feels very relaxed.)

Meowth: "That feels real nice. Thanks, but no matter how much you pet me, you won't get rid of my hunger pains."

James: "Petting you? It isn't me."

(James says, confused.)

Meowth: "That's nice,"

(Meowth says.)

(Suddenly, Team Rocket realizes something is amiss and spots the vine, causing them to scream in fright.)

(Then they run away in fear.)

(Finally, the group stops to catch their breath.)

(Tired Jessie asks.)

Jessie: "James, what was that horrible thing?!"

James: "I don't know, Jessie, and I never EVER want to find out!"

(James answers, tired.)

Meowth: "Well, whatever it was, I was almost its dinner."

(Meowth says, feeling tired.)

(Suddenly, they hear footsteps.)

(Meowth asks.)

Meowth: "Do you hear what I hear?"

(Soon, they see a light shining through the tunnel, and come out at them.)

(Meowth screams.)

Meowth: "A monster!"

James: "Weezing will get us out of this!"

(James screams and throws his Pokeball.)

(Then Weezing comes out of the Pokeball.)

James: "Smokescreen attack, now!"

(James calls out.)

(Weezing performs Smokescreen, giving them time to escape.)

(But unknown to them, the one who's been blinded by the smokescreen are Mew and the others.)

Tracey: "I thought I just heard Team Rocket."

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "What would they be doing in the sewer?"

(Mew asks.)

(Suddenly, Misty notices.)

Misty: "Oh no! Where did Togepi and Pichu go!"

Mew: "Don't you have them?"

(Mew asks.)

Tracey: "Maybe the creature grabbed them, just like it grabbed Bulbasaur and Tomo!"

(Tracey worriedly says.)

(Pikachu calls out.)

Pikachu: "Pi Pi Pi!" (Togepi!)

Eevee: "Eev Eev!" (Pichu!)

(Eevee calls out.)

(Misty soon spots Togepi walking to some running water as Pichu tries to stop him.)

(Misty calls out.)

Misty: "Togepi! Pichu!"

(Misty rushes over and picks them in time.)

Misty: "You can't just wander off like that."

(Soon, Mew worriedly says.)

Mew: "Misty?"

Misty: "Yeah? What's the matter, Mew?"

(Misty asks, turning to Mew.)

(Mew panics.)

Mew: "Look right there!"

Tracey: "Misty! Right in front of you!"

(Tracey cries out.)

(Misty turns around to see the creature's vine right in front of her.)

(Misty screams in fright as the creature grabs Togepi and Pichu.)

(Misty tries to pull them away.)

Misty: "Let go of Togepi and Pichu!"

(Misty tries to pull them away, but the vine pulls all three of them away.)

Mew: "Misty!"

(Mew cries out.)

(And the vine pulls them into the water.)

(Just then, the vine grabs Meloetta and Skwovet and pulls them away.)

Mew: "Meloetta!"

(Mew cries out.)

Tracey: "Skwovet!"

(Tracey calls out.)

(Then the vines pull them both into the water.)

(The group rushes over to see the group has been pulled into the water.)

(Tracey asks.)

Tracey: "What do we do? We gotta save them!"

(Mew grabs her Pokeball and says.)

Mew: "We will. I knew we'd wind up in the sewer, so I had Professor Oak send my secret weapon."

(Then Mew calls out, throwing the Pokeball.)

Mew: "Go Muk!"

(And with that, Muk comes out of his Pokeball.)

(Muk calls out.)

Muk: "MUUUUUUUUK!" (Sewer time!)

Mew: "Alright! Let's go, Muk!"

(Mew says.)

(But Muk pounces close to Mew and begins to hug her.)

(Mew giggles.)

Mew: "Oh Muk, I miss you too, but we really need your help. We gotta save our friends."

(Muk nods his head.)

(Meanwhile, Team Rocket are resting after running away from what they thought was the creature.)

Meowth: "I can't take much more of this."

(Meowth says, very exhausted.)

James: "Me neither,"

(James says.)

Jessie: "But that thing just isn't gonna leave us alone."

(Jessie says, tired.)

(Soon, they begin to hear more footsteps.)

(James panics.)

James: "Here it comes again!"

Meowth: "I'm sick and tired of being scared! Now it's our turn to do the scaring here!"

(Meowth says, having enough.)

(Jessie and James agree.)

Jessie and James: "Yeah!"

(Team Rocket then makes themselves look scary to frighten the creatures.)

(They run around the corner to scare the creature, but end up crossing with the Mayor's SWAT team.)

(The SWAT Squad leader calls in on the radio.)

SWAT Squad leader: "Squad leader to base. Squad leader to base. We've discovered three unidentified creatures. Please advise. Over."

The Mayor: "Three? Excellent work. Launch your attack immediately."

(The Mayor says, over the other radio.)

SWAT Squad leader: "Roger,"

(The SWAT Squad leader says.)

(Then turned to the others.)

SWAT Squad leader: "Okay, get the putty guns ready!"

(Team Rocket grows worried to hear that as the putty guns are being pointed at them.)

(The SWAT Squad leader commands.)

SWAT Squad leader: "Fire!"

(The SWAT team opens fire on Team Rocket, forcing them to flee.)

(Jessie screams.)

Jessie: "Wait! Stop! We're not really monsters!"

(Elsewhere, Mew, Tracey, and Muk are still searching for the others.)

(and soon come across a dead end.)

Mew: "Looks like a dead end."

(Mew says.)

(But Muk points to the water.)

Muk: "Muk Muk." (Look there.)

(Mew and the others look to see the tunnel continues.)

Tracey: "The tunnel keeps going,"

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "Is that where we gotta go to find them, Muk?"

(Mew asks.)

Muk: "Muk Muk, Muk Muk," (We'll have to go, underwater.)

(Muk says.)

Mew: "Okay, then,"

(Mew replies.)

(The group then jumps under the water and swims down the tunnel.)

(They eventually reach the end of the tunnel, and Mew, Pikachu and Eevee are the first to resurface.)

(However, they end up encountering the mysterious creature's vine and it begins to attack.)

Mew: "Uh oh!"

(Mew panics.)

(Meanwhile, the SWAT team returns to the mayor after their search around the sewer.)

(The SWAT Squad leader says to the Mayor.)

SWAT Squad leader: "Sir, our team couldn't locate any creature that fit the original description. But we encountered three other creatures down there. Sir, for all we know, that sewer could be packed with those freaks."

The Mayor: "We have no choice. Close up every manhole and opening, and seal that sewer shut!"

(The Mayor says.)

(Soon, concrete is being poured into the manhole, sealing them off, and the runoff are blocked off with concrete as well.)

(Meanwhile, the group are trying to get Mew to come around.)

(Misty calls out.)

Misty: "Mew! Mew!"

(Bulbasaur calls out.)

Bulbasaur: "Bulbasaur." (Mew, wake up.)

(Mew slowly opens her eyes and regains consciousness.)

Mew: "Where, am I?"

(Then Bulbasaur says.)

Bulbasaur: "Saur."

(Mew becomes relieved as she sits up.)

Mew: "Bulbasaur!"

Bulbasaur: "Bulbasaur," (It's me!)

(Bulbasaur says.)

Mew: "Bulbasaur, I was so afraid that you might be hurt, but you're okay!"

(Mew says in relief.)

(Then she and Bulbasaur hug each other.)

(Mew happily says.)

Mew: "Alright! I'm glad you're here."

(Soon, the creature's vine taps on Mew's hat.)

(Mew quickly noticed in surprise.)

Tracey: "We finally found the monster. And here it is,"

(Tracey says.)

(Mew soon notices a Bulbasaur, but it's twice the size of her own.)

(Tomo, Meloetta, and Skwovet are next to it.)

Mew: "Tomo, you're safe!"

(Mew says, relieved.)

Tomo: "Yeah. I'm okay,"

(Tomo says.)

(Then Tracey says.)

Tracey: "It's a Bulbasaur. But it's twice its normal size, probably from living down here."

Misty: "The mysterious creature was really just a big Bulbasaur using Vine Whip,"

(Misty explains.)

Mew: "But how would a Bulbasaur wind up in a place like this?"

(Mew asks.)

(Tomo then explains.)

Tomo: "Bulbasaur told me about it. He was left in the sewer by his trainer years ago, and has been living here this whole time. He's also wearing a collar that his trainer gave to him."

Tracey: "He's right. The Bulbasaur isn't wild cause it's wearing a collar,"

(Tracey adds.)

Mew: "Somebody just gave up on raising it and threw it away."

(Mew says.)

(Then Misty asks.)

Misty: "So, Tracey, why do you think it took Mew's Bulbasaur, Tomo, Pichu, and Togepi?"

Mew: "And the rest of us, for that matter,"

(Mew adds.)

Tracey: "Well, it must've been lonely here all by itself."

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "Must be. You've had it pretty tough, haven't you?"

(Mew says, and pets Bulbasaur.)

(Soon, Mew notices something on the bell.)

Mew: "Hey, look! Doesn't that symbol on the bell look familiar?"

(Tracey, Misty, and the others look at the symbol on the bell.)

(Excluding Tomo, the group knows exactly where they've seen this symbol before.)

(Back in the mayor's office, Nurse Joy is having a stern talking to with the mayor.)

Nurse Joy: "You can't do it! Mr. Mayor, you can't just send your own personal little army around to seal up every single manhole in the city!"

The mayor: "What's wrong with my plan? This is a perfect solution to the problem. We don't have to worry about exterminating the creature if we just close up the sewer system."

(The mayor says.)

Nurse Joy: "You can't! Those kids are still down there! If you seal up the sewers, they'll never be able to get out!"

(Nurse Joy angrily says.)

(But the Mayor says.)

the Mayor: "No need to worry. I'll remove all the concrete as soon as the election is over."

(But Nurse Joy continues in anger.)

Nurse Joy: "But the election isn't until the beginning of next week! You can't leave them trapped down in that sewer until then!"

The mayor: "That's not my problem. Children shouldn't be playing in the sewers in the first place."

(The mayor says.)

(Meanwhile, at the sewer outlet, water begins to leak out, indicating the water buildup behind the concrete, and it looks like it's ready to burst.)

(At the mayor's house, the mayor is taking a relaxing bath.)

(He says to himself.)

The mayor: "Well, now that that creature problem is finally taken care of, I should win re-election in a landslide."

(Suddenly, the room begins to shake.)

The mayor: "That sound,"

(The mayor says.)

(The next thing he knows, the water from the pipes burst from the floor, flooding the mayor's office.)

(and freeing Mew and her friends, and the giant Bulbasaur in the process.)

(Soon, the doors burst open, and everyone is swept outside of the mayor's home.)

(Soon, the mayor falls out of the bath and now wearing only a towel, and falls to the floor.)

(He looks up to see Mew and the others looking down at him.)

(The mayor get up and asks.)

The mayor: "What do you want?"

Mew: "We were just wondering if this Bulbasaur looks familiar to you, Mr. Mayor."

(Mew calmly asks, and points to the Bulbasaur.)

The Mayor: "Bulba?"

(The Mayor says, confused.)

Mew: "Look at it careful, especially the collar around his neck."

(Mew replies.)

(The mayor looks at the Bulbasaur and notices the bell around the Pokemon's neck.)

(The mayor realizes.)

The mayor: "That bell! That's my initial!"

[Flashback...]

(Many years ago, when the mayor's a small child, he had his Bulbasaur placed in the box.)

(The mayor as a child angrily says.)

child mayor: "Quit your blubbering! If you're not gonna evolve, what do I need you for?!"

(He then places the Bulbasaur in the box in the river of the sewer and it drives down the river into the sewer system.)

[Flashback Ends...]

(Soon, the mayor realizes.)

the mayor: "This must be the Bulbasaur I let float into the sewer when I was a little boy because it wasn't evolving."

(Soon, the large Bulbasaur begins lifting up his former trainer.)

The mayor: "What are you doing?!"

(The mayor panics.)

(Misty angrily asks.)

Misty: "How could you do such a terrible thing to your own Pokemon?!"

Tracey: "And even though he threw it away all those years ago, it's still happy to see you!"

(Tracey adds.)

(Soon, the mayor turns to see the people have gathered to see him only having a towel.)

(The mayor panics and tries to cover himself.)

The mayor: "I can't let the voters see me like this! Make that thing put me down!"

Misty: "If you want us to help, apologize to your Bulbasaur!"

(Misty demands.)

(But the Mayor angrily denies.)

the Mayor: "I am the mayor of this city and I have to maintain my authority! I will not apologize to a Pokemon!"

Mew: "That's rotten of you! And how dare you call yourself a Pokemon Trainer!"

(Mew angrily says.)

(Just then, the SWAT team arrives on the scene.)

(The leader calls out.)

SWAT Squad leader: "Mr. Mayor! Are you alright, sir?"

The mayor: "This Pokémon is violating the law by holding the mayor of this city hostage!"

(The mayor says.)

SWAT Squad leader: "Prepare to fire!"

(the SWAT Squad leader says.)

(Soon, the squad prepares to fire, scaring Bulbasaur.)

(Just then, Tomo stands in front of Bulbasaur.)

Tomo: "NO! I'm not going to let you hurt Bulbasaur!"

(Then Mew and the others step in.)

Tracey: "That's right!"

(Tracey says.)

Misty: "We won't let you!"

(Misty says.)

Mew: "You'll have to go through us first!"

(Mew says.)

(Then turns to Pikachu and Eevee.)

Mew:: "Pikachu, Eevee, stop them with your Thunderbolt!"

(Pikachu and Eevee both perform Thunderbolt.)

(Then Tomo calls out.)

Tomo: "Skwovet, use Bullet Seed! Meloetta, use Close Combat!"

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Bulbasaur, use Vine Whip!"

(With that, all three Pokemon perform the attack and send the Swat Team flying.)

(The mayor becomes nervous and says.)

The mayor: "Maybe we can work this out?"

Tomo: "We don't think so,"

(Tomo says.)

(Then turns to Bulbasaur.)

Tomo: "Alright Bulbasaur, let him have it."

(Bulbasaur begins to swim the mayor around and throws him sky high.)

(Then, he lands right into the statue, toppling it over.)

(and it's clear that his chances in winning the election have been toppled over well.)

(Later on, Mew and the others meet up to Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy, who are giving their thanks.)

Officer Jenny: "I want to thank you all for your help. After everything that's happened, I'm sure we'll have a new mayor after the election."

(Officer Jenny says.)

(Nurse Joy pets the Bulbasaur and says.)

Nurse Joy: "And I'm happy to let you know that Bulbasaur is in perfect health."

Tomo: "That's good to hear,"

(Tomo says.)

(Just then, the large Bulbssaur walks to Tomo and nuzzles his head against Tomo's leg.)

Mew: "I think Bulbasaur really likes you Tomo,"

(Mew says.)

Misty: "Yeah. I think Tomo wants to be yours,"

(Misty says.)

(Tomo kneels to Bulbasaur and asks.)

Tomo: "Hey Bulbasaur, you wanna come with me and my friends?

(Bulbasaur nods his head.)

Bulbasaur: "Bulbasaur," (I sure do.)

(Tomo smiles and says.)

Tomo: "I promise to take great care of you, Bulbasaur. If you don't mind, I'll call you Sage"

(The Large Bulbasaur smiles and nods his head and likes the name.)

(Tomo then taps on Bulbasaur with his Pokeball and it goes inside.)

(Soon, Bulbasaur, now being called Sage is caught and now belongs to Tomo.)

Tomo: "Alright, I caught Bulbasaur,"

(Tomo happily says.)

(Mew and the others are glad to see that Tomo has a new friend, and Bulbasaur, now Sage, has a new trainer.)

(Mew then asks.)

Mew: "We heard there was an Orange League gym near here in a place called Trovita Island."

Nurse Joy: "You heard right, Mew,"

(Nurse Joy says, then points to the island.)

Nurse Joy: "It'll only take you a few minutes to get to Trovita Island."

Officer Jenny: "There's a ferry that goes there once a day, I'll take you to the pier."

(Officer Jenny says.)

Mew: "Alright!"

(Mew happily says.)

(Mew and the others look over to see the island they're seeking and Mew's Orange League Challenge is only a boat ride away.)

(And with the case of the mysterious creature finally solved, Mew and her friends set their sights on Trovita Island, and their next adventure.)

(Meanwhile, Team Rocket has reached a barred off entrance of the sewer.)

Jessie: "Finally! Daylight! Sunshine!"

(Jessie says, relieved.)

James: "That's very nice, Jess. But we're trapped here,"

(James whines.)

(Meowth screams.)

Meowth: "We'll never get out!"

Team Rocket: "Team Rocket's all washed up!"

(Team Rocket says.)

(Soon, Jessie sneezes and the bars suddenly collapse soon after.)

(James says, in surprise.)

James: "The bars!"

Meowth: "We're free!"

(Meowth cheers.)

(Soon, the group begins to celebrate.)
