Chapter 2
The man before me simply smiled and said, "Hey, I'm not the only one to blame for that, you know. I wasn't the one who had sniffed a bit too many lines of powder."
Of course, I was half to blame for my death, but instead of sending me to hell, which at the time I was afraid to go to, he offered to send me to a magical world of power and only power. What else would I have chosen?
Of course, I chose the world of superpowers before hell. However, it was just hell to me. Just as I went out, a farmer came at me thinking he could sell me to a slave market. I killed him.
Then another farmer came at me, I killed him too. Then a woman with a small axe, her fate was the same. Then a few soldiers almost killed me but I managed to kill them as well. And before I knew it, I was used to killing.
I didn't even go through the trauma stage because of how rushed it all was.
I found out that as I killed, I grew stronger thanks to the system this man before had granted me as support.
From ordinary people, I moved on to some cultivators, a superhuman of that world, Murim, and gained the majestic power of Ki. After that, I only led a life of murder. I killed, became stronger, killed, and became stronger.
I plunged the world of Murim in terror and once I became the strongest man in the Murim, I had finally had enough. I retired to a quiet village and changed my name and identity. It was a peaceful time. I spent two hundred years in that village before I had to relocate because some people became aware of my identity.
I thought that I would have been forgotten because I existed two hundred years ago but apparently, they still managed to recognize me. I didn't age so I was sure I wouldn't be recognized but I was, and that made those annoying pests come after me again and again.
They somehow managed to find me and when they did, I would simply kill them and move on to another village. And just like that, the vicious cycle of stalking and killing followed for seven hundred years until finally, they crossed the line and killed everyone in the villages everywhere.
It didn't matter whether I was there or not, wherever they suspected I could be, they burned that place to the ground, killing everyone along with it.
Now I wasn't a saint, I could be called a demon, but I was a demon with a consciousness and a heart. I couldn't still forget the images of burned infants.
I vowed to kill the world of Murim, the world of martial artists, even though my mission in the Murim was finished. Of course, I wasn't stupid enough to think they would die out, forgotten forever, but I was sure, Martial arts would never be the same.
It would take them at least ten thousand years to get back to what their martial arts used to be, or longer. Well, just to be safe, I also made sure to burn down their bases, eradicating any potential inscriptions that could make one a martial artist.
"That was kind of the reason why they came after you as one." And it seemed like the man in front of me was aware of my thoughts. Seriously, what a creep.
"Hey, not my fault you're recounting your whole life on a summary as if in a movie." The man before me defended himself, but the playfulness in his voice was clear as day.
"Well, here I am now. What now?" I asked since I had done what I was sent to the Murim to do. I had done it but I was still there. A few years passed, then a century passed and I finally accepted that nothing could be done now and I was stuck there so I decided to just live there, as normally as I could.
"What do you think?" He asked me in return.
"I think I'm going to hell." I knew where I was going before he made me the offer and I was thankful for it. Although it was hell, it wasn't hell literally. I lived a good life, a life of depraved debauchery as much as I could. I didn't treat any of the women badly though, it's just that they would grow old and die while I still remained young. So my body count was quite high, both in terms of fights and sex.
"Well, with how many people you have killed, I don't think even the devil of this hell would be able to torture you. To be honest, you have sinned so much even the devil would call you master." He berated me, or I thought he did. He seemed impressed after he finished so I was sure it was berating.
But, I caught a part that I couldn't quite understand, "What do you mean this hell? Are there more hells?"
"Of course, there are millions of hells, just like there are millions of realities." The man before me explained. I agreed, abnormally fast too, but hey, I myself was an otherworldly existence. There were bound to be some multiverse shit and such like in those books, TV shows and movies.
"And there's actual science about it too, you know. Not just fiction." He tried to increase my knowledge, or he was just insulting me. But someone said this to me, be proud of your shortcomings, no one would be able to insult you then.
"Hey, what do you expect from me, I was a fuck up in college." So I proudly admitted to my shortcoming, invalidating his insult.
"Yeah, I'm not really sure that's how it works." Of course, he was quite quick to pour a bucket of cold water on my analogy.
"Fine, so what are you? A god or something?" I asked.
"Oh, no. I'm not a god per se, let's just say I'm the proxy of the king, an acting king. Yeah, let's go with that. I'm an acting king." He cleared my misunderstanding about him being a god.
"So, you're an acting god?" I asked.
"Hey, what do you expect, there's only one god and millions of realities, of course, he's not going to do all of this by himself." He gave a pretty simple and easy explanation to my questions. I nodded and moved on from the topic since that wasn't what I really wanted to know.
"So, I finished the quest, what now?" I asked.
The quest I was talking about was my main quest which I had completed a long time ago. However, there was no complete status to it even though all the objectives had been completed.
[Apostle of otherworld]
[Grade: SSS]
[Description: As the traveler from another world, an entire world is ahead of you, all for your taking.
However, there are some strong existences in this world that you need to defeat to cement your existence as the strongest.
Fight them, kill them, eradicate them, prove yourself, and sit on the throne of the strongest being in the universe]
[Task(s):
#1: Kill the apostles of divinity (&\7)
#2: Kill the apostles of evil (7\7)
#3: Become the strongest being in the world]
[Tasks completed (3\3)]
[Status: Incomplete]
[Reward: Unknown]
[Punishment: Death]
[Time limit: 1000 years]
That was the unreasonable quest I had gotten. To be honest, it was quite easy for me, I managed to do it in just the first century. However, I was still stuck there so I thought that all the 1000 years had to be completed for the quest to end.
"And today marks your 1000 years in Murim. A thousand years ago, you stood in that same place, confused, scared out of your wits, speaking gibberish and browning your pants from front and back. But no one, not even I, who sensed an immense potential in you, thought that you would be able to do the impossible grade quest in just a century. Truly marvelous." He praised me. Or at least that was what I believed he was doing since I decided to ignore the browning thing.
Anyway, he was right, I had managed to do it in just a century and was ready to return. However, to my surprise, I had to spend 1000 years in that violent world where fights break out for a random reason like a man didn't like the way another man smelled or why that person got more tea than me in an inn.
"So, what now?" I asked once again. I had completed the quest. What was the reward? And what would happen to me after the reward? Would I still go to hell or will all my sins be pardoned and I would be welcomed to heaven where there would be busty girls with big asses and lost cleavage, actually, scratch that, I would prefer them to be naked.
"Hah! With your sins, not happening." And this fucker was quick to douse cold water on me once again.
"But, you will receive a reward for your efforts." He continued as a few notifications swarmed my vision.
