The sun rose, signaling it was time for the players to log out and take a break.
"Mmm, that was a great sleep!" Misty woke up, stretching her arms toward the sky before looking around.
She got up, grabbed her toothpaste and toothbrush, and headed towards the bathroom where there was a sink.
"Huh?"
At that moment, she noticed Officer Jenny talking to Nurse Joy and Red, along with a hole in the ceiling.
'Did something happen last night?'
Misty, who had slept soundly and was unaware of the previous night's events, walked over to the three of them.
"Red, what's going on?"
"..."
"WHAT?! THERE WAS A BREAK-IN?!"
Red recounted the events of the previous night, leaving Misty in shock.
Luckily, the intruders hadn't managed to steal any Pokémon; otherwise, it would have been dangerous and extremely unlucky for the trainers who owned them.
"Where are they now?" She looked around, still clearly remembering the impression the group had left.
The three boys were loud and talkative, while the two girls always whispered among themselves.
How annoying! (Right Rinchan7? Ok im sorry for bring u to this)
"..."
"Did they go somewhere? Well, that's good. I don't think my head could handle all their chatter."
No matter how kind she was, Misty had her limits. So, she headed to the bathroom to brush her teeth.
A few minutes later...
Red picked up his backpack, glancing at Pikachu, who was nestled inside his jacket. He then paid Nurse Joy for the room and left the Pokémon Center with Misty.
'I need to hurry. Blue said he'd be waiting at the first Gym.'
Red and Misty continued through the forest, with Misty glancing around cautiously.
"..."
"Huh?! Oh, it's just... I'm scared of bug Pokémon."
'Ah, I get it. Girl always been afraid of bug Pokémon.'
Wait a minute, does that mean Farmqueen is an exception? (She's 19)
As Red pondered, he suddenly heard a loud scream.
"?!"
Red looked over to see Misty climbing a tree at an impressive speed while a confused Caterpie stared up at her.
Caterpie? (What did I do?)
Seeing Misty scared to the point of tears, Red wondered, 'Does she really need to be that afraid?'
To help Misty out, Red decided to have Pikachu shock the Caterpie.
Pikachu lazily resisted, wanting to stay nestled in Red's jacket.
But an order was an order, so she reluctantly jumped out and gave the Caterpie a small shock.
Somehow, though, even with just a tiny jolt, the Caterpie fainted on the spot!
Was it that weak?! Or is my Pikachu just that strong?
Seeing the Caterpie faint, Misty climbed down from the tree and ran towards Red.
"Thank you, Red!!"
"..."
Red scratched his head, thinking it wasn't that big of a deal.
But just as the two were about to continue their journey, a Pidgey suddenly appeared and grabbed the unconscious Caterpie.
Oh right... Caterpie is a favorite food for both Spearow and Pidgey.
Pretty dark.
Pidgey looked at Red, recognizing the boy.
Wait a second?! Isn't this the kid with the disobedient Pikachu who electrocuted all those Spearow?!
Pidgey still remembered. At the time, he was just flying around when he saw a trainer and a Pikachu that refused to listen. The kid was so patient that Pikachu eventually had to comply.
Pidgey admired people like that because patience is a virtue!
So, he decided to follow and observe the boy and Pikachu for a bit. Then, he noticed a flock of Spearow gathering.
Spearow were Pidgey's arch-enemies. No matter how good Pidgey was, the Spearow would never be grateful and would always try to take over Pidgey's nest.
Ungrateful bastard!
And now they were targeting passersby, even though they had done nothing to them?! What jerks!
Despite his thoughts, Pidgey didn't rescue Red because he knew his own limits.
...Although he could have flown over to warn Red about the Spearow, the thought hadn't crossed his mind (his brain worked a lot like Lukas's).
So, he watched everything unfold—from the boy saving his Pikachu to Pikachu single-handedly electrocuting the entire flock of Spearow.
At that moment, Pidgey admired both Red and Pikachu and even considered following Red.
Unfortunately, he had to return to his nest.
But to his surprise, he encountered the boy again!
Pidgey was tired of staying in the nest and protecting it—he wanted to have some adventure! And he wanted this boy to capture him!
Pokémon have simple thoughts. If someone pleases them, they'll gladly become that person's Pokémon. That's why Weedle had so easily joined Rey.
So, Pidgey released Caterpie, sparing it, and then flew over to Red.
"...?"
Red found it strange that Pidgey would abandon such a tasty prey and come over to him.
Pikachu, however, was on high alert. Even though the Pidgey wasn't a Spearow, it was still a Flying-type Pokémon.
And Flying-types are evil! Pikachu thought.
Pikachu jumped up, ready to zap this bird into a roasted chicken.
Luckily, Red stopped her in time, sensing no ill intent from the Pidgey.
Pidgey was almost terrified when Pikachu jumped, knowing all too well that Flying-types fear Electric-types.
Misty watched curiously as Pidgey and Red seemed to be having a deep, wordless conversation.
What's this? Love at first sight?
"..."
"Pidgey!"
"..."
"Pidgey pidgey!!"
Great, I have no idea what they're saying, Misty thought.
For some reason, Red understood Pidgey's intentions and took out a Poké Ball.
Pikachu didn't seem too happy about it. In her mind, the more Pokémon Red had, the less time he'd have for her!
I'm mad! I'm going to ignore him for… maybe 30 seconds!
No, 30 seconds is too long… 10 seconds, then!
Wait, 10 seconds still long... 5 seconds!
Unaware of Pikachu's thoughts, Red threw the Poké Ball at Pidgey.
The ball lightly tapped Pidgey's head, opened up, and engulfed Pidgey in a red light.
The ball wobbled three times before coming to a stop.
Red had captured Pidgey! That was pretty easy!
Red held the Poké Ball, smiling happily at Pikachu.
'We've got a new partner!' he thought.
Pikachu looked at Red, smiled, and quickly abandoned her plan to ignore him.
Ignoring Red might be too much for him to handle...
Hmph! Stupid birds! Next time, don't blame me for being harsh with you!
Pidgey suddenly broke out in a sweat, feeling as though someone was blaming him for something he didn't do.
With that, Misty and Red continued their journey.
