Zeng concluded his short training session with the Space element and took some time to mentally rest his mind.
"Truly is worthy of being a complicated element..." He murmured to himself, Zeng tried his best however could only go so far by himself. He needed proper instructors and tools.
"Beijing Military Academy, I will be number one." Zeng vowed to himself before starting his nightly cultivation.
The next day arrived and Zeng woke up early as usual, however today and for the next weeks he would study demons. It was best to get all the information he could receive to be the most prepared for the entrance exam. Of course if he does pass the assessment first.
Zeng got on the computer and searched 34 demon races..
Upon searching, the first link was a danger list of the races.
"[ISSUED RANKING LIST OF 34 DEMON RACES]" It stood at the top of the page.
1-14 Noble Races...
15-34 Weaker Races..
"Right.. the Vice Principal did mention that there were rankings for the demons.." Zeng remembered and started scrolling down the list.
1... Crimson Fire Vrak..
..Description:....
The information was not helpful at all so Zeng guessed most the information was classified however the military decided to make this to educate the civilians.
Continuing scrolling down the list he realized the website had no pictures of these so called demons.
Growing bored quickly Zeng left the website and even turned off the computer but made a note to remember most of the names.
With a slight yawn he stepped out of his room. Doing a quick routine check through the house he suddenly smelled something.
"...What is this smell?" Zeng said in absolute confusion. He had never felt this strange odor before.
"Hey grandma!" He shouted outside her room before entering.
"Ugh.. what do you want boy?" She said with a groan sitting up.
"Grandma there's a really strange smell outside the house, I have never encountered it before." Zeng said a bit confused however his Grandma reacted differently.
With a frown she stood up swiftly before stepping out of the room to check it out.
She recognized this smell very easily, the sulfuric, metallic and dirty trash smell hit her profoundly.
"This is a demon." She responded quickly.
"Huh a demon? They smell like this? quite stinky I must say." He joked with a light laugh.
"This is serious, this particular one are those cunning Dolins.." she said a bit concerned but not much really.
"Dolin? Aren't they one of the lowest ranked demons?" Zeng quickly said remembering the demon rankings he just read from the internet.
"That's right, they are small in stature. About 140-160cm and reside underground, I have no idea why there is one on the surface." She responded going downstairs.
"So they live in our earth? I thought just those demons who could disguise themselves were on our soil." Zeng quickly added finding the situation strange.
"They are slaves." She said without caring about her statement.
"Hmm are they good slaves?" Zeng didn't really know what to say so he just spouted some bullshit as they reached the door.
"They are smart however weak, that is why they are perfect slaves for those wealthy people or organizations." She explained to him now standing in the courtyard.
Zeng nodded and stayed silent following her through the semi large courtyard they owned.
"They say you learn something new everyday that is definitely true." Zeng concluded following behind his Grandma.
"Grandma I see him, over there under the planks." He quickly sensed the demon hiding behind wooden planks.
She nodded as if she knew already and approached the planks.
Suddenly the planks turned on fire and she motioned for Zeng to catch the little demon.
The little green thing screeched and jumped trying to flee however Zeng teleported suddenly and grabbed the strange creature holding it's throat.
"Woah, this thing is definitely a demon." Zeng said inspecting the creature intensively.
The Dolin had green-gray skin with long feet and a short torso. However this one was fat and it's eyeballs were super large alongside its mouth. It almost looked like a frog blended with a blobfish and human.
"Grandma this thing is really ugly!" Zeng concluded his inspection and continued holding it.
"Let me down human! I am a scientist!" The creature spoke mandarin towards him.
"...What the fuck?" Zeng suddenly said with a frown a bit disturbed by this creature speaking his language.
"Grandma should we just kill it? I don't like this fatty." He dropped the short Dolin onto the ground harshly.
"Let him be boy, you do not understand. This Dolin is someone's possession." She said prompting him to back off.
"Those rich people are crazy, we should exterminate every single demon! None of them should be alive y'know." Zeng continued a bit annoyed.
"And scientist? This ugly fatty seems more like a pet." Zeng said showing his dissatisfaction.
"Y-You little brat! I am Dr. Lou!" The creature suddenly retorted standing up dusting his clothes off.
"Wow, are you from Hui Country too? Ugly fatty." Zeng replied sarcastically not liking the small demon at all.
"Where are you from?" His Grandma asked with a frown.
"I-I work for the military! B-but.. there..was.. an..accident.." The Dolin responded a bit more hesitantly at the end.
"Accident? Are you a fugitive? be honest." She said this time interrogating the Dolin more ferociously.
"N-No I'm not! There was an accident!" The Dolin remained reluctant.
"Okay so what are you doing here then? At my house!" She shouted this time very annoyed.
"..I just ended up here..I'm waiting for the military to evacuate me.." he responded the Dolins eyes darting around searching for something.
"Evacuate?" She said strangely a bit of unease revealing itself.
"Okay well you can go and await your evacuation on the street, not my damn house." She said escorting the creature outside the courtyard.
..
"Sir!" A female soldier saluted the bulky older man sitting at the table.
"Just tell me the damage." The bulky older man said with an annoyed tone.
"Sir, we believe a large part of Shej City will be damaged and millions of civilians too.. the deaths will reach hundreds of thousands..." The female soldier replied looking at the tablet in her hands.
"Where is he?" The man questioned solemnly.
"Sir! It seems Captain "Husk" escaped, Dr. Lou has been found and will be escorted shortly.." She explained shortly after.
"He deserted?!" The man this time growing much more serious slammed the large table in anger.
"I give them some time and suddenly my whole fucking base is fucked!?.. this wasn't supposed to happen!" The man said in frustration after the plan had officially gone wrong.
"Get backup from Lieutenant Colonel Lu and alert the damn higher ups!" The man eventually decided ordering the woman.
"Yes, Sir!" She shouted before storming out of the large room.
...
An hour passed and Zeng did not dare to take his eyes of the Dolin.
Eventually a small spaceship appeared in the air Hui Country's military badge on it.
It dropped a rope and the Dolin climbed up before the spaceship vanished.
"Grandma, will something happen? I mean an evacuated military official, something must be wrong." Zeng said still unsure but not daring to get complacent.
"No matter what happens the military will arrive, it's fine." She said not worrying.
Zeng nodded and went to watch the news to be updated on the frontlines with the Abyss realm.
Today's news wasn't too different as they kept updating the newly made frontline. The human forces had been pushed back further almost reaching the milky way galaxy.
20 minutes went by quickly and Zeng concluded his short information gathering session.
Feng Yu, Zhou Jing and Lin Yuye were about to leave and he went over.
"Done already?" Zeng said peeking over the corner into the hallway.
"Obviously, idiot." Feng Yu responded as the other two stayed silent.
"How did your gossip go? Good? Any crushes in school?" Zeng continued teasing them like an older brother.
"Just shut up already." Feng Yu said clearly not happy as the girls dressed themselves ready to leave the house.
"Listen, I don't care if my grandparents adopted you but if you even try speaking to either one of them like that I won't hold back." Zeng seeing her rude attitude warned her with his bloodlust.
Sure she was his new sister but did they know eachother? Nope.
"What are you doing!?" She shouted in an even angrier tone and in disbelief feeling the bloodlust.
In a natural response she unleashed her core tier energy, the Astral Energy.
"S-sor.." Feng Yu was just about to apologize when she realized what had happened however she remained in disbelief seeing Zeng standing there unbothered.
"Brave aren't you." He said.
"Is this Astral Energy? It's thick but still trash." Zeng shrugged it off and walked off to resume his cultivation.
Zhou Jing and Lin Yuye left through the front door while Feng Yu stayed still in her thoughts for a moment before leaving the house. However just as they were supposed to leave the courtyard a large rumble was heard.
Boom!
The ground started shaking and several explosions reverberated the surroundings.
..
"What the fuck? An earthquake!?" Zeng suddenly stood up alerted to the surrounding chaos..
