Griselda stood right in front of the two women, her eyes locked on Valerie, glaring at her with anger mixed with hate for her kind.

"And who is this old hag?" Valerie sneered, displeased that her fun was interrupted. Although she had plans to kill Kael's bride, she still intended to toy with the human for a while. That pleasure had now been cut short by the old woman who was glaring at her.

Lady Julia chuckled. "Never thought I'd see an Elyse again," she smiled, tugging at the lace of her fancy gloves.

Griselda shifted her gaze from the vampiress to the other woman. "And what is a bane doing with a human girl? I'd appreciate it if you stayed away from what's mine. You don't want me to tell people around here that you're a witch, do you?"

"Witch? Aren't you one too?" Lady Julia stifled a chuckle. "Just because you're an Elyse with a fancy title of 'godmother,' you think you're different? We're all witches, sister."
