There was nothing to explain, Blanche thought. In Allen's heart, she was a woman beyond redemption. Ever since she abandoned him all those years ago, he had sentenced her to a "death penalty" in his mind.
"Allen, what's wrong? Are you okay?"
Leslie had been listening outside since Allen brought Blanche into the room. Hearing Allen's anger and questioning, she felt both unsettled and angry. It seemed Allen still had some feelings for her; she had to stop the two of them…
Allen opened the door and replied, "I'm fine."
"Then can you help me with the medicine?"
Allen glanced at Blanche, who was looking down, lost in thought. He sighed inwardly and went downstairs.
"Daddy, where's Mommy?" Jason came running out, having heard the commotion.
Seeing Jason, Leslie quickly walked over and gently said, "Your mommy is resting. Are you hungry, Jason? Would you like Auntie to make you something to eat?"
