Here, John's design of "Outlast" also uses many similar game techniques. For example, when you hear the sound effect of being chased by a monster, you have no chance to turn your head, but there will be rapid footsteps behind you.

At the same time, there are some mandatory fear settings. For example, in "Outlast," when facing enemy pursuit, you hide in the cabinet. But when you hide in the cabinet, you turn your head and suddenly find that there is a mental patient next to you, grinning. The stimulus brought by this fear is something that cannot be experienced elsewhere.
