Chapitre 1: Book1 Chapter 1

I lived a rather solitary life, moving with the flow of human existence. I was left at a small orphanage when I was just a baby, that's where I learn that being alone was much more simple as you'll inevitably be separated.

In the midst of my lonesome I've found that books took me away from the dull grey world I'm used to. It's truly lovely, the worlds people can create with their imagination alone. The love I found in reading drove me to find work at a small library, though the pay was less that my old job, I can confidently say I found something I truly loved doing.

But in the end, all good things must come to an end at some point. On my way back home, I've seemed to have found myself in the middle of a mugging situation. He was a rather young child from what I remember and seemed quite desperate as he pointed a gun at me, it looked rather comically large in his young hands. In the child's desperate state, he was spooked by a sound across the street and pulling the trigger.

What I found interesting was in the moment I felt no pain, just a little cold. The craziest thing though, was all I could think about was the final book of the Harry Potter series I was carrying. Truly a wonderfully interesting piece of work J.K Rowling brought to the world, a shame I'm not able to finish the ending.

With that final thought the darkness took me in its embrace.

Or so I thought…

I found that not long after I've closed my eyes I was able to open them once again, but I was greeted with a rather different scenery than I was expecting.

I was in a lone room that, in all honesty, was rather run down and shabby. I've also found during my inspection of the area, that I seemed to have shrinked down to the size of a rather skinny prepubescent child and interestingly enough I looked nothing like I used to from the looks of the large cracked mirror.

I now have wavy black hair and Greyish blue eyes. The facial features seem rather aristocratic, quite the handsome young face I seem to have now. An upgrade indeed, from the plan face, normal brown hair, and brown eyes I had before. The real questions though is who is this child I've become and where even am I. (Image)

Seeming to have answered my prayers in a rather violent way, I'm struck with a painful headache and a flood of information of the child's life and a little narrative from who I want to think is god or maybe death, not curious enough to want to know the answer to that complicated philosophical question.

This boy is named Greyson Adonis Sayre and from what I'm picking up, this child was rather niglected in this shabby orphanage.

The terrible treatment started around his 6th birthday when weird things began to happen around him, examples being floating objects, things blowing up when he is scared or angry, and the appearance of snakes following him around.

The matrons believed him to be some kind of devil. With the supernatural abilities and the snake thing, I can't really blame them for their fear but really letting the kid starve to death is going to far. Well I guess I should just be glad they didn't send him to some research facility.

From the emotions in the memories I received, he hated this place and was becoming a rather angry child, but there was also a deep emotion for the want of love that he probably didn't know was there. Sadly, the child died on his 11th birthday due to his lack of nutrition. A terrible way to go having nothing but hate and longing in your heart.

While in my thought I heard something hitting the window of my room. Upon closer inspection it turned out to be an owl carrying and envelope.

"Now this seems to be a rather familiar event" I said allowed to myself

I made my way over to the window opening it carefully for the owl to come in.

As I watched the owl gracefully hop its way into my room I couldn't help but think of the intelligent owls in the Harry Potter series. With some expectation and excitement I looked at the letter the owl was carrying in its beak.

Reaching for the letter the owl surprisingly pulled away from my hand giving me a look that I, for some reason, took as it was asking for a trade of food for the letter. Then I remembered, it was kind of an unspoken rule to feed the owl a snack for its hard work.

"Um, I truly apologize for the lack of reward my feathered friend but as you can see." I said as I pointed at myself and the surrounding area. Then continued to speak.

"I hardly have the necessary food to keep myself in working order, let alone a snack for trade." I said apologeticly to the owl as I'm sure it was a long journey from hogwarts, if this is truly what I believe it to be.

I saw the owl give me a scrutinizing look and towards the surrounding. Fortunately upon it's inspection it gave me a nod of understanding and dropped the letter on my bed.

"Thank you for you consideration. If you stay here for a little longer while I write a response I'll be sure to request extra reward for you from the deputy headmistress, as I'm sure that is where you'll be delivering the response letter." I asked as I knew from the series Minerva McGonagall practically ran the school as Dumbledore did his own thing.

Getting another nod of agreement the owl hopped over to the end of the bed using it as a perch as I began reading the letter at my desk.

To: Mr Greyson A. Sayre

The shed outside the orphanage

Dear Mr Sayre

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find inclosed list of necessary books and equipment.

Term begins September 1st. We await your owl by no later than July 31st.

Yours sincerely,

Minerva McGonagall,

Deputy Headmistress

As I read the letter I couldn't believe it was truly what I had predicted, I'm in the world of Harry Potter and was lucky enough to have the gift of magic.

In my thoughts I heard the owl flap its wings. At my glance over, it gave me a rather annoyed look that obviously states for me to hurry up.

"Sorry about that, I was getting a little excited. I'll hurry up then." I said to the owl who gave me a cold shoulder at my response.

'I better hurry up before she decides to just leave.' I thought to myself pulling out paper and a pen.

To: Deputy Headmistress Minerva McGonagall

Thank you for the opportunity to enroll in Hogwarts School. I would love to attend this year but as you must already know, I'm an orphan with no way to get the needed supplies. On that note I humbly request a guide for my school supplies.

P.S. The owl that delivered this letter has help me a lot in this endeavor to get this letter back to you, as I don't have an owl of my own. I was unable to give her a reward myself, so in that regard may you please give her a little extra of a snack in my stead.

Thank you.

Yours Sincerely,

Greyson A. Sayre

"Ok my friend, you can be on your way. As I promised, I asked the Deputy Headmistress for some extra goodies as consideration of your hard work today. Please have a safe journey back." I said as I gave the owl my letter

Receiving the letter the owl jumped up to the window and flew away.

"What a temper on that owl, but I must say it was a rather fun experience to be able to talk to an owl, that can understand me." I said as I chuckled to myself.

Now alone, in what was apparently a shed. I lay in bed giving a small pray to the old Greyson, promising to live a happy life life for the both of us. Falling asleep I dreamt of the magical world I will soon be apart of with a smile on my face.

At Hogwarts School

P.O.V Minerva McGonagall

'With the students OWLS and NEWTS coming around again, I'm endlessly busy. Especially with the twins causing so much chaos.' I thought to myself while grading the homework turned in this morning.

In my thoughts, an owl flew threw the window holding a letter tied to its ankle. It's rather unexpected receiving letter this late at night. Taking the letter, the owl stood there staring at me expectantly, obviously waiting on a treat.

Pushing over the bowl of seeds, the owl didn't seem content and sat there staring much more intensely this time.

'What a greedy bird' I thought to myself while opening the letter.

It would be quite the understatement to say I was only surprised with the contents of the letter, but what really shook me was the name 'Sayre'.

In a hurry I stood to make my way to Dumbledors office to inform him of a child with a name thought to be lost 11 years ago, but before I could leave the owl adamantly fluttered in front of me daunting my exit.

Releasing a sigh I called for a house elf to get the owl something to eat, only when the elf arrived did the pesky bird let me leave.

Arriving at the staircase towards the headmasters office, I gave the ridiculous password of 'lemondrop'. Enter the main office, I was greeted with the sight of Dumbledor speaking with the old headmasters on the wall jovially.

"Minerva, to what do I owe the pleasure of your company this late in the night." Dumbledor said upon spotting me walking towards his desk.

"I've received a rather interesting letter not to long ago from a newly enrolled student requesting aid in his school shopping this year." I said pausing, then continued.

"While that may not be much of a surprise as the child is in an orphanage, what really caught my eye was the child's name." I stated while handing the letter over to him.

As I watch him read I noticed his eyes widen much like mine had when I read the letter.

"Are you sure he could their child." Dumbledor said not looking up from the letter.

"I believe the likelyhood of him being their child is very likely, after all we know he was born due to the ministry trying and failing to cease the Sayre family assets after the fall of Voldemort because of an heir still having sole claim." I informed Dumbledor

"Very well then, please personally take him to gringotts to test his claim to the lineage tomorrow morning. I'm sure he will be thrilled to be out of the orphanage from where I can see he is living." Dumbledor said with some sadness in his tone but their also seemed to be some fear as well. His worry though isn't completely unfounded, as the child did hail from the same line as Voldemort and from the looks of it, had a far worse childhood than he did when he was just Tom Riddle.

"Very well, I'll see to the child myself. From the letter he wrote to me though, he seems like a smart and excited child. So I doubt he is emotional shut off like Tom was."

My words seemed to visibly relax him. He would constantly think of his mistakes with Tom during his time here at Hogwarts.

Though in Tom's case he didn't have the Capacity to feel emotions such as love or compassion. He felt felt rage and lust for power that only grew after the many rituals he performed on himself, so the creating of Voldemort couldn't be blamed on Dumbledor. The only person putting blame on him was dumbledore himself.

"After visiting gringotts and receiving the answer of his lineage. I'll go ahead and assist him with his school shopping. If you wouldn't mind covering my class tomorrow, it would be greatly appreciated." I asked, as he was the transfiguration professor before me after all.

"I would be delighted to cover for you tomorrow, I have missed teaching for quite some time. Being a professor truly was my calling, unlike this headmaster position." Dumbledor said with a jovial laugh.

It would seem his mood has brightened a bit.

"Then I'll leave the children to you. I'll see you tomorrow once I'm finished with the young Sayre." I said while leaving the office, returning to my room to get a some sleep heading to the orphanage.

(AN: Thank you for those reading. I'm feeling pretty good about this fanfiction so I hope for some feedback from you all on how it is.)
