Splash! came a bucket of water right at Giovanni's face, forcefully bringing him back to consciousness.

He blinked his still heavy eyelid as his head felt light on his body. His heart was thumping too fast for someone who had just awoken. His breath was also labored. Even with the fire burning furiously at the fireplace, he was shaking in cold to the point of shattering his teeth against each other.

"What do you want from me?" he said, but it was barely a whisper. He winced at the uncomfortable sensation he felt in his leg. He tried to stand up from where he sat, but he couldn't.

"Oh, nothing much. The bounty. AnF already contacted me some weeks ago, and it felt like the perfect opportunity I was looking for."

Shoot. AnF weapons company had that much intel, so it was natural that they would know where he worked.
