Chapitre 9: Dragonkin

The Fell God

The dwarfs' words ran through his head like a plague as it just seemed to stick, he hadn't dared speak the words aloud.

Even thinking the words makes him feel like something is watching him, saying the name out loud is just inviting whatever it is in.

He still had a few months before he would return to Asgard, though he did have the urge to go back now and ask his father about this so-called God.

If anyone knew what to do it would be his father.

He sighed as his eyes roamed the stars passing him through the window of the starship.

He was just going in a random direction, he just needed to get moving. The braces sat upon his bedside table, he had been practising summoning them onto his body.

By now he had it all down so that when he conjured his armour he would summon the braces onto his body at the same time.

The glint of his ruby ring caught his eye, he turned his hand and stared at the gift from the Queen of Alfheim. The ring also enhanced his fire, thought not as much as the braces.

He barely remembered what the Queen had said, but did remember it was something along the lines of the ring being passed down to them by the Dragons.

Quickly he hurried over to the screen that controlled the direction the Ship would go, it had an information panel of each planet it could reach and general information such as wildlife, temperature, air quality.

He quickly filtered out all planets with no dragons, he thought back to the bears of Asgard. Descended from Dragons they could shake mountains and destroy asgardian villages with ease.

He scrolled through the long list of planets with dragons and found one that was close, and by close he meant he would be able to get there within the week.

Drekar

—-

Aerion had just arrived at the rocky planet, and by rocky he meant it,  the only colour on the planet seemed to be dark murky water and the multi coloured bolts of lightning constantly smashing into the ground.

The small planet was more like a moon with breathable air, the entire planet's surface seemed to be a mountain as it had sharp peaks that reached far beyond the depressingly dark storm clouds.

Water existed however not much, it seemed to be scattered around the tiny planet in lakes and rivers but not an ocean to be seen.

He took his first step out of the starship, he had landed atop a large peak in a small hidden cave. He didn't want any potential dragons to sniff around his ship.

He looked across the rocky foggy landscape in slight worry, in the wildlife description there would usually be an average size, abilities of any animal.

However none of that was listed with this planet, all it said was 'Dragons reside here'.

So either they're all incredibly boring and similar, or the more interesting option is that all the dragons are diverse.

Either way he was quite excited.

Hours later he was not nearly as excited, he had been trekking through the awkward landscape continuously without a sight nor sound of any dragons.

The lightning was still as strong and loud as ever, he had so far seen lightning as red, yellow, dark blue and black.

Honestly the most interesting part of this damned planet was the lightning so far.

Hours later of even more continuous trekking he eventually found a sight of interest.

A dead dragon.

It was a light grey, with stone like scales. It was as large as a house, its wings were husks as they clearly decomposed first.

It's body was clearly not fresh, it's death though wasn't apparent as he examined the body.

Until he got to the head of the dragon and saw a thin long slice that had clearly pierced the dragon's head. He examined it for a moment before coming to the conclusion that it must have a sword of sorts.

Dragons don't exactly wield tiny man sized swords though.

He clenched his jaw as he checked his surroundings once more.

He turned to continue examining the body until he came across something chilling, the neck of the dragon had been skinned with flesh clearly having been cut from it.

Eating such a magical creature seems dangerous.

Eating any form of magical creature never ended well.

He heard a sudden step from behind and instantly summoned his armour to wrap around his form, the spear formed in his hand and he turned.

Only to have to use the side of his spear to block a swing of a dragon blood covered sword, the thing wielding it was humanoid.

It had two legs and two arms and stood bipedal however that's where its similarities to man ended and the ones with dragons began.

It's skin was replaced with dark scales, its head a dragon head with its eyes burning yellow and slitted black pupils that burned in Aerions soul.

Its hands had 5 long fingers with deep claws, both hands of the thing were wrapped around the hilt of the blade and its legs long and skinny with three clawed dragon feet that dug into the ground below.

Surprising Aerion felt him being pushed back from the strength of the half dragon half man. Quickly volatile flames exploded from his form as the Dragonman jumped back to avoid being scalded.

It swung its burning red sword and a projectile came from the blade that was aimed directly at Aerions form.

Aerion leaned out of the way letting the projectile crashing into the dragon's body behind him leaving a slash in the dead creature.

The dragonman tried to push his attack but even it was burned by the fire. It hissed and then let out a roar at the form of Aerion.

"Surrender or die" Aerions voice echoed in the large rock valley, the dragonman simply roared once more.

Aerions jaw clenched as he stared at the creature, he dropped the spewing flames that sunk into the ground below seemingly harmless.

The dragonman closed the gap quickly with extreme speed that left Aerion blinking as he threw himself to his right to avoid a slash of the blade.

He then ducked to avoid a chasing projectile, the dragonman closed the gap once more.

Spear vs Sword at close range, usually the winner would be obvious.

The dragonman swung his sword at the god who blocked it with the side of his spear once again and was struggling to hold the sword back from slicing him open.

The fire that previously sunk into the ground viciously spewed out from just below the Dragonman sending it into the air roaring in pain.

Just as the Dragonman landed on its back Aerion planted the sharp end of its spear into its head.
