Chapitre 11: Chapter 10: Punching Out of His Weight Class

Bam! A resounding punch echoed through the forest as two figures collided—a massive gorilla and a small, fiery-haired boy. Both were sent sprawling back, the impact of their fists sending shockwaves through the ground. The gorilla roared, a deep, guttural sound that reverberated through the trees. The boy, Jaxon, stared back with defiance, a smirk playing on his lips.

"I wonder how gorilla meat tastes," he thought, his eyes glinting with a newfound confidence.

It's been a week since Jaxon had ventured into the forest. The weak, frightened boy who was once bullied by beasts was gone. In his place stood a warrior who had survived countless bloody battles. He was no longer an easy snack for the creatures of the forest. Now, they had to think twice before challenging him. Though he was no match for the forest overlords or the monstrous dinosaurs, he could handle the average predators like bears and wolves with his bare hands.

On the second day, Jaxon had an epiphany. He abandoned his shelter and chose to fight. He stopped running when wolves came to steal his food. He stood his ground when a bear tried to make him its next meal. When a python slithered towards him, seeking an easy kill, he fought back. He was sick and tired of running. Each battle left him stronger, and more resilient. He could see the improvement with his own eyes, his muscles hardening, his reflexes sharpening.

Feeling invincible, Jaxon had decided to test his strength against a new opponent: a gorilla that happened to be napping near his shelter. Now, as he squared off against the massive creature, his confidence grew.

The gorilla lunged, its massive fists swinging. Jaxon ducked, weaving under the powerful blows. He countered with a swift jab to the gorilla's midsection, feeling the solid impact reverberate through his knuckles. The gorilla grunted and swung again, catching Jaxon off guard and sending him crashing into a tree.

Pain shot through his body, but Jaxon pushed himself up, wiping blood from his lip. He charged, unleashing a flurry of punches and kicks. Each hit was calculated, aimed to wear down the beast. The gorilla fought back fiercely, its massive arms swinging like hammers, but Jaxon was quick, dodging and striking with precision.

The forest around them became a battlefield, leaves and dirt flying as they clashed. Jaxon felt the adrenaline coursing through his veins, the thrill of the fight pushing him forward. He could feel his broken hand protesting with each punch, but he ignored the pain, focusing on the battle.

With a roar, the gorilla lunged again, but Jaxon was ready. He sidestepped and delivered a powerful uppercut to the gorilla's jaw, followed by a swift kick to its knee. The gorilla stumbled, and Jaxon seized the opportunity, launching himself at the beast. They rolled across the ground, a blur of fists and fur, each struggling for dominance.

At one point, the gorilla's massive fist came dangerously close to hitting Jaxon below the belt. He quickly crawled away, feeling the ground shake as the gorilla's fist hit the dirt between his legs. Jaxon grimaced, "Close call, but no banana," he muttered.

Summoning the last of his strength, Jaxon charged again. This time, he aimed for the gorilla's most vulnerable spot—its groin. He moved with a ferocity born of desperation, each hit fueled by the need to survive. The gorilla's movements became sluggish, its strength waning. With one final, desperate move, Jaxon landed a solid punch to the gorilla's balls. The beast let out a guttural howl, collapsing to the ground.

Jaxon stood over the fallen gorilla, panting heavily. "Bet that hurts, huh?" he quipped, feeling a mix of triumph and exhaustion.

Suddenly, the ground shook with an earth-shattering rumble. A massive shadow fell over the two combatants. Jaxon looked up, his eyes widening in horror as he recognized the spinosaurus that had once taught him a harsh lesson—one that had seriously improved his eyesight. He could have sworn he suddenly saw Mt. Tai appear before him, overlapping with the dinosaur. With a swipe of its colossal tail, the beast sent both Jaxon and the gorilla flying through the air. They crashed to the ground, weakened and gasping for breath.

Struggling to his feet, Jaxon glanced at the gorilla. Despite their fierce battle, they now faced a common enemy. Without a word, they attacked the spinosaurus together. Their combined efforts were fierce, but the spinosaurus was too powerful. It swatted them aside, its jaws snapping dangerously close to Jaxon's head.

Desperation clawed at Jaxon's mind as he fought with every ounce of strength left in his battered body, but the spinosaurus was relentless. Bloodied and exhausted, he realized they couldn't win. Catching the gorilla's eye, they silently agreed and turned, running in opposite directions, each hoping to draw the beast's attention away from themselves.

The spinosaurus paused, weighing its options. Its cold eyes flicked between Jaxon and the gorilla. It seemed to understand that the little piece of meat, though juicy, wouldn't even fill the gap between its teeth. With a final, terrifying roar, it chose the larger prey. The ground shook as it thundered after the gorilla, leaving Jaxon to collapse in relief.

Breathing heavily, Jaxon watched the beast disappear into the forest. He had survived, once again. The gorilla's fate was sealed, but Jaxon had lived to see another day. As he limped back to his makeshift shelter, he couldn't help but salute the direction the gorilla had run. "Nice save, Harambe! You really took one for the team there." He murmured, a small grin forming on his lips.

As he settled back into his shelter, he thought about the lesson the spinosaurus had taught him—the real meaning of Mt. Tai. The forest was brutal, and humility was key. He glanced at his bruised and battered body, knowing that each scar was a testament to his resilience. Survival was tough, but he was determined to emerge stronger, no matter the cost.

It was already the day when Bjorn said he would come back to pick him up. Jaxon waited for a while, recalling all his past experiences. He had an extremely tough week in the forest, but he had improved himself tremendously during this time. Jaxon felt that if he encountered the Jaxon from a week ago, it would be a literal thrashing. He could easily crush the old Jaxon. He felt like he had broken through some kind of limits within him during this week. His strength hadn't drastically changed, yet the feats he could accomplish were vastly different from before, as if he was never using his full potential.

Well, as expected of the One Piece world, here the best teacher is battles. You fight, you get stronger.

Bjorn was getting late. As soon as this thought crossed Jaxon's mind, he felt the ground shake a bit. He sensed vibrations coming from a distance. He looked towards the source to see a giant walking towards him, holding a dinosaur in his hand. As they reached closer, Jaxon could see the dinosaur was none other than the one he faced before. The dino's head was bashed in, and judging by the traces, it was only a single hit that did it. Jaxon looked at the giant and gulped. "It's really... I have eyes but couldn't see the real Mt. Tai all these days!" he muttered.

Bjorn grinned down at him. "Ready to get out of here, kid?"
