Chapitre 16: The Mysterious Gesture
Just as Brock finished speaking, the aftermath of the battle struck the Tower of Time and Space. A part of the tower instantly collapsed, and a figure could be vaguely seen being shaken off, clinging to the edge. Luckily, they were pulled back up just in time!
It was unclear whether the person who fell was Ash or Dawn, but judging by the way they were holding something while supporting themselves with one hand, it was likely Ash, the human-shaped Pokémon.
"Better keep quiet! If you keep talking, we might need to collect Cynthia's body!"
Lin Jiu glanced at Brock with a strange look. It seemed his luck was fine, but the problem lay with this squinty-eyed guy beside him! After lamenting that all squinty-eyed individuals were monsters, Lin Jiu quietly distanced himself from Brock.
Getting hit by a few more stones was no big deal, but if his luck got tainted with something strange, that would be bad!

Garchomp, supporting its body, stood in front of Cynthia, facing the time-space dragons.

Suddenly, the scene quieted. Brock turned back, finding that Palkia and Dialga had stopped. Looking at the situation on the field, seeing the figure blocking in front of Cynthia and Garchomp, Brook slightly opened his squinty eyes: "Didn't you tell me not to add to the trouble! How come you went up yourself!"

Cynthia was just about to question the guy who appeared in front of her when she noticed that Palkia and Dialga instinctively halted their actions.

Lin Jiu glanced sideways at Cynthia and her Garchomp. He preferred to hide behind and finish charging up before dealing with Palkia and Dialga in one go. However, because the Red Chain was a half-finished product, he had no choice but to come here. Simply put, the Red Chain wasn't long enough!
Standing in this position, facing the time-space dragons head-on, Lin Jiu felt immense pressure. In the next moment, from the center of the explosion, Darkrai, covered with wounds and barely standing, rose again. White mist roiled around it. It took a deep breath, lifted its chest, and exchanged a glance with him.
Lin Jiu smiled—a rare smile untainted by the manipulative smirk he wore in Celestic Town. This was a smile born from enduring countless trials in this world!
Everyone's pupils contracted, and eyes widened in disbelief. Darkrai and the man called Red simultaneously looked at Palkia and Dialga. Darkrai extended a hand and beckoned at them! Red made a gesture they couldn't understand! Was there some secret in this gesture?
"ROAR!!!"
For the first time, the time-space dragons roared the loudest, filled with rage. As the Dark-type Legendary Pokémon, Darkrai sensed the fear beneath their anger!
They knew Darkrai had no strength left to continue fighting. Just one more attack would defeat that human. But the thin red chains extending from Lin Jiu's hands had already bound their necks, making escape impossible.
The complete Red Chain was a legendary item said to be able to bind Arceus. Even in its incomplete form, once its power was awakened, Palkia and Dialga were powerless to resist.
The sky echoed with the hoarse roars of the time-space dragons, their eyes filled with fear, bodies trembling.
"Is that all?"
Lin Jiu said coldly. Only Darkrai beside him could sense the weakness in his voice.
Even though the two gems bore most of the pressure, the constant trembling of the gems above his hands showed how difficult it was to achieve this with a half-finished product.
