In a few days from now it would be the final examinations.
And in this Exams is where you will be evaluated if you are able to graduate or not based on the performance on the fights.
Because the finals exams is a tournament!
All 5th graders would battle it out in a huge stadium, with spectators along with the teachers and evaluators from the King's Hand, The Shimin!
Shimins is the organization that acts as the kings hand all over the kingdom. They only take orders directly from the king himself and no one else.
If there is an emergency or an urgent mission, a Shimin can overlap the authority of a noble clan and the government officials in the place.
But as an elite organization, Shimins dont have a lot of people, currently there are only 143 Shimins that take direct orders from the king.
With these type of people having to evaluate your performance, all the kids were nervous but were also eager to show their brilliance.
So they did their special trainings or conditioned themselves in the best way possible to have a better performance later in the tournament.

In an open field near the forest, Eiji is currently training his sword techniques as his Master Muri watched him while sitting on a chair.
Eiji has grown a lot in the last 3 years.
Eiji's height is average compared to other students, he didn't have a bulging and veiny muscles nor did he have a regal aura of a person from a huge clan.
Eiji was just normal.
His overall looks are just average.
But Eiji didn't care nor did his master.
What the both of them cared about was their swordsmanship and the final exams!
"Eiji, you have already mastered the Quick Draw which is the standard and the given technique of the school.
You have also mastered the Swift Peirce Technique that you took in the sword pavilion.
Then my personally created technique that I have taught you, is also progressing at a good pace.
Now we need to talk in what to do in the exams!"
"Hmm!"
Eiji nodded his head at Muri and listened to what he was about to say next.
"Sword Intent is out of the equation, you can only use it when your life is in danger, but in this tournament don't use it, you can kill anyone directly with it.
Then my personally created technique, well, I really don't care if you want this to be out in the public or not as it is not an A rank Technique, it is up to you though."
"I plan to use it as a last resort master!"
"Hmm! That's fine too! The last one is, Dont go all out and make your ki reserves show, people already know that you are at the Elite Swordsman level, there's no need to show them your full ki reserves, being able to get to the last 16 participants is good enough!"
"Okay master!"
"Oh! And also, if possible dont use a fatal attack on your schoolmates, it may be fine for those geniuses and kid from the huge clan, but the other civilian and oprhan kids wont be able to handle it!
Give them a chance to graduate!"
"Okay master!"
*Sigh!
Watching Eiji just accept his demands gives Muri a mixed feeling of satisfaction and worry.
Eiji just does things as he was told without questioning it, he gets the task done then... nothing.
He just waits.
Eiji had grown too dependent on him!
Muri knows this, but he knew Eiji will grow and learn to be on his own in the future.
In fact, other than the school, Him and Eiji didn't really hang out in any other areas, except the restaurants and sometimes in his house just to get some materials for their training.
And then they just spend their time in the training grounds and train.
Eiji then goes back to his dorm or hunt alone or with his classmates in the forest.
Eiji is an independent child, but when it comes to him, he becomes very very dependent.
"Eiji, the reason why I want you to hold a bit back against the other kids, you know it right?!"
"Hmm! You told me before about that, when we graduate we can do missions and get money out of it.
And if the other kids graduate they can have their own stable income, as long as they don't do hard missions and fail, which they won't be compensated."
"Hmm! I am just requesting this as a teacher and a civilian myself, I want to give the civilian and orphan kids their opportunity, but I also don't want to waste yours!
So you can go fight it out with the strong ones while leave a way out for the...hmm.. unfortunate kids that weren't born in a huge clan, okay?"
"Hmm! I understand Master! If you didn't accept me as a disciple, I would also be one of those kids!"
"Hmm! Good! Now continue practicing, I need to go back to the school, we have a meeting in a few minutes."
"Okay Master! Good bye!"
"Hmm!"
Eiji watched his master leave the training grounds.
When he left his vision, he looked up into the bright sky.
'If Master didn't accept me as a disciple, If I didn't go to the forest, If I hadn't fought that jaguar or If hadn't acquired the Sword Intent, would I be where I am today?
No! That's why I need to work hard not to disappoint master!'
Thinking so, Eiji went back to his practice.
In fact Eiji wasn't that eager to be the winner or something, what he wants is to not disappoint his master.
His master told him before that being at the top 16 is good enough, so in Eiji's mind, he needs to be in the top 16, as for the rest of that?! Just let it be!
