Chapitre 54: True Cultivator

Fang Xuan felt his pulse quicken at her question. The last thing he wanted was to attract unnecessary attention or raise suspicions.

'A fellow cultivator? Why does she think I belong to a sect?'

He was pretty sure that his current appearance was more of the traveler type. 

He wore a simple, black tunic, and had even made sure to conceal his weapon to look more ordinary. 

No cultivator would dress like this—or so he thought. His lack of experience made it likely that he was mistaken.

"I think there's a misunderstanding. I'm not a cultivator; I'm just a traveler I did train for a few years, but I stopped because I'm lacking in talent," he replied, forcing a calm expression on his face. 

She tilted her head slightly, her dark eyes narrowing as she scrutinized him.

"A traveler, you say? But I can smell blood on you. You've killed a lot of people already."
