Chapitre 12: Demon.

One step, fourth step, eighth step, fifteen steps, seventy steps, two hundred sixty-three steps—he finally saw a mass of land in the distance. Then, noticing two Skelligan ships currently engaged in battle with five ships of the Aen Elle, Richard decided to help them repel these invaders before going to the tower.

But seeing the state of the foot soldiers' minds that were already robbed of their own free will, he adjusted his breathing to Water to send them on their way. They were like puppets with no minds of their own, only able to follow the instructions given by the navigator of the ships. Furthermore, these foot soldiers weren't even Aen Elle elves to begin with.

Parkouring onto one of the ships, he slashed their necks with tranquil serenity, leaving them as painless as possible before they fell completely into darkness. After decapitating everyone under the slave-mind spells, Richard turned his head toward the Navigator on the ship. Seeing deep into the Transparent World and glancing at the flowing blood in their brains, his flames burst out like a torrent of lava, burning everything around him. His silent rage couldn't be contained.

Every part of this man was disgusting beyond belief—murder, torture, rape—from men to boys and from women to girls. This man—no, this demon—did it all. And not just once or twice, but hundreds of thousands of times. It's like they have degraded one world after another over generations.

And they didn't care in the slightest about the pleas for mercy or forgiveness and weren't even numb to their own wickedness. Not once did the thought of having enough cross this man's mind. No, he even tried to come up with something new. Dress-up games, hunting games, sick cooperative games—he tried all sorts of games on them. Every sickness that this demon could think of, he would do without hesitation. Either kindergarten or advanced in age.

"Death does not deserve you."

Slash, slash, slash—the Navigator became limbless and yet never bled out. Creating sixth and seventh form techniques in that instant, he immediately tried them on him. One, like an insect, could poison the man for the rest of his life, and the other, like a slithering snake, meticulously cut out his vocal cords. He then looked to the side where a sorceress wearing an all-black outfit stood. "Make sure that anyone who looks like him doesn't get killed."

With that, he once again started hunting the Navigators from one ship to another until he arrived at the gateway overlooking a gigantic harbor from another world. Clenching his fists with silent ire and indignation, Richard burned the place deep into his memory. Because he heard a distant anguished cry atop the tower, which grew weaker by the minute.

So, looking once more at the homeland of these demons and engraving it in the deep recesses of his mind, he turned back. Employing his Lightning Breathing to reach the top of the island, he hunted every Navigator he could reach, using the same tactic as with the first victim.

"Va vort! D'yaebl Dh'oine cáemm aen vhóel ninnau holl!"

"Daetre ceas'raet caer! Foilé feainn deith marw!"

"Dh'oine loa'then morvud Aenyeweddien! Squaess aé essea!"

Plea? Mercy? Forgiveness? Nothing. They had already lost their chance the moment they entered his sights. Folks of this world still deserved a second chance, but them? No, nothing. His hope was already extinguished; this sickening disease needed to be eradicated. Eradicated until their will became like that of the slaves they were so proud of.

Unknown how much time had passed, but at some point, he finally stood face to face with the king of these demons. Looking at his face, Richard just wanted to ask.

"Why do you find this entertaining? What's so amusing about all of this? What do you take life for, exactly?"

Before he could find the answers, he suddenly sensed an instantaneous teleportation behind the demon king. Activating Lightning Breathing, he slashed forward, aiming to destroy the mage's staff. Sadly, before he could reach the location, the person beside the king was already positioned to intercept the incoming blade aimed at the staff. With a slash and a zoom, the two of them were gone, leaving only the relatively tall elven foot soldier clutching his severed hands on the ground.

Looking in the direction of the faraway gateway where they had reappeared and hearing Ciri's cries growing fainter and fainter behind him, Richard punched the pillar of the building out of frustration.

BOOM, boom, crash!

Not long after that, he heard another teleportation from behind him. However, having noticed earlier that this elven mage only had innocent, battle-ready men and women in his grasp, he let it be for the time being, even though the number had already reached a terrifying billion marks.

Turning back and performing the same procedure to these tall, bald foot soldiers—limbless, poisoned, and muted—Richard finally walked to the front of the freezing gateway. Wanting to step inside, his footsteps were halted by the sound of the sorceress's portal behind him. Seeing the black-attired sorceress, he couldn't help but frown in dissatisfaction. Luckily, this woman understood his current mood and knew exactly what he wanted.

"Relax. Some of them are already in my wizard's grotto. And Triss is currently picking up the rest. So, can I be there? My daughter is crying for me."

Finally realizing who he was talking to, Richard released all the pent-up tension and employed Water Breathing techniques to relax his mind. At the same time, he drew in all the ionized flames that had been burning throughout the island as a result of his breathing, that automatically bringing the flames along with him.

As a result, the sorceress in front of him could finally catch her breath and drop the protective bubble. When Richard saw the state of the woman's arms, which were burned beyond belief, likely caused when he attacked the first ships, he bowed deeply in apology.

"I am deeply sorry."

"It's okay, it's okay. There's nothing to worry about. I'm actually really glad that you're on our side. And this is just a small price to pay."

Once again, "I am deeply sorry."

"Wow, you are a polite young man, aren't you? Well—"

Zoom.

"Yen, Yen! Where is Ciri?!"

"Well… We don't have much time. Come, into the gateway."

Zoom, zoom.

Looking at the white-haired Witcher appearing out of the portal, Richard was stunned for a moment, recognizing his swordsmanship benefactor and teacher from memory. Sadly, the moment wasn't right to ponder further, as someone was currently dying and needed attention.

Stepping inside and following the two leads, he instantly faced a freezing cold blizzard that made his entire body frostbitten. Even though he wanted to marvel that the gateway didn't make him feel sick, the moment was just not suited for that. If not for his habit of always keeping the Breathing Technique activated, he probably would have frozen by now.

Sure enough, the two people who had gone ahead of him were already in their last breaths, almost succumbing to eternal darkness. Breathing out ionized flames to counteract the freezing and create a safe domain for the three of them, Richard walked up to the two concerned parents and restarted their vitality.

Then, dragging them across the snow to where Ciri was, he finally saw the person in question. Seeing the silver haired lady, he instantly knew who had brought him into this world, as he could hear her supposed last wish clearly.

"Sword, my sword. If not, Vesemir will scold me."

"Geralt, I am cold. I am cold. I want a Sun."

And, "Yennefer, mother. Help me, I can't breathe."
